i wouln't mind a reo clone to play with...probably easier if multiple panels used and screwed together like stainless or aluminum..

wooden ones will be sweet using some nice kiln dried wood using diff. variety teak , cherrywood, narra, kamagong, cedar...

actually im planning on making one out of cedar in the very Far future i wanna use the provari chip on it =)

i just wish reo and provari had as a joint project =) reo bottom feed with provari electronics... i saw a post not too long ago somebody had converted his Reo grand to variable using dna 20 chip and it utrned out great! personally i would Love to have a reo with provari electronics

I'm all for variety, whatever works for you.

I love that I have zero electronics in mine.

Sorry, are u referring to vapage? The one with a plastic interior and a metal casing on the outside? That can't be from China. And i don't think it cannot last like a Reo do. Haha, and i still don't own a Reo. But i totally have faith in it.

No, there was a plastic thing that madvapes or someone was selling. I think a few others were mentioned as well. OK if you wanted to just try a cheap bottom feeder, but apparently did not survive the first drop onto a hard surface. When I was still sitting on the fence I was looking for something like it but it was already history. Yep, looked at the Vapage and passed on that one too. Have to tip it upside down to drip? What could possible go wrong with that?

I wouldn't buy one...ever. Maybe recommend them to someone on the fence about a Reo but don't want to chip in the big bucks yet. MAYBE.
The Reo I could see being done ~okay~ but a clone RM2 would be dead on arrival, guaranteed.
I doubt if a lot of Chinese manufacturers know about the Reo actually, it has a relatively small following and seem to be mostly residing in the States. Although, I could be very wrong about this.

You realize that the RM2 is actually a slightly modified Chinese mass produced atomizer?

I knew they were a modified atomizer, but had no idea they were from China. Thats very shocking to me.

If you think about it, the price of the RM2 pretty much tells tale. All those exotic & innovative Filipino RDAs are usually in the $100+ price range. EU RBAs aren't cheap either. Not very many rebuildables made in the US if at all & if there were the pricing on them wouldn't be as nearly low as it would being manufactured in China. So for Rob's labor to "make" the RM2 the pricing makes sense.

BTW, I could be wrong, but wasn't there a pic post sometime ago about a crude REO like copy from China? I don't remember much but it wasn't an exact duplicate of the REO, just had some close resemblances. I could of sworn I rememeber a post somewhere about it.

I wouldn't say slightly! They are unusable junk that would short any mod you put them on until Rob gets done with them. I bought two just to have the extra caps and spare parts to play with. The amount of work he does is actually quite surprising but most is hard to notice without an unmodified one side by side to see.

Nah, Reo is like love at first sight. The first time i saw it, i told myself i will get it one day. It is either a Reo or nothing. There is so many colors to choose from plus a kit for sub ohm, should i wait or press ahead..... hmmm irresistible.

The Old Goat box mods were plastic but kinda cute. I actually bought then sold a pink 'jackson pollack" looking one a few months ago.
First photo is one in white. That man was so nice, sold these to ECF members for $20.

Then there were all these:

then you have the home made modders, this new guy just posted this one in the vmod topic, very nice, i thought, trying to see what and how he did it or if the vmod was just a "template"...nice work though! There are some talented people here

Your link to the Current ones leads to the thread that I was searching in March of 2011. It led me to the REO. I did not want a wood mod. Looking at the REO and it's durability led me to my first REO purchase. And it all started with that thread!

Sort of like atty connectors.

I think I freaked some people out the other day when I pointed out that I doubt that Provape made the atty connectors on the Provari. I am not aware of any 510 atty manufacturers in the US?

it's like some of the ejuice, "made in the usa" but the nicotine isnt, so it should say "flavored and mixed in the USA", right?

that's so cool Nerak!

It's interesting how people find their niche....sometimes it is purposeful and sometimes it is serendipity?

I know that I am a serendiptous library user. I have been reading voraciously on all subjects since i could first read, and the way I got into certain interests/hobbies was just because I walk into the library, close my eyes, and just wander into an aisle, and start looking at books. Stuff I never would have gone to the library to find in the first place, those have been my most cherished "finds".

I still do it that way. :)

You were looking, looking and then found the exact thing you were looking for. :) Funny how you say you did not orig. want wood...having seen your wood collection.

BTW, I hope it was okay to bring in these other BFs....I just realized this conversation is happening in a REO topic, I don't always arrive at topics by going to specific topic, sometimes I am doing a search and just *end up* somewhere

I don't think there is anything wrong with what you did.

You should have read my posts in the lounge during that first wood sale. I knew I would have more REO's. But was really hesitant with the woods. I asked lots of questions and waited till most had sold.

My Purpleheart/Bocote had the letter "K" in the wood grain. That one thing made me push the buy button. When it arrived I was hooked. Now the wood REO's are by far my favorite.

I only use my metal REO's when going out. It is all WOOD at home!

 Talk about destiny!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow! That's such a neat story.

closest I ever came to seeing my first initial "carved" was in a cloud formation.....and as cloud formations go, totally emphemeral so not something I could own.

I did get that strange feeling when I first met my ex however (we are still good friends).

He came over for a cup of coffee, first time he was ever at my house.......and when he got up to leave, the sun was coming thru the window in just the right way after a brief rainstorm.......and had cast a gorgeous colorful RAINBOW across the side of the couch he had been sitting on!

I thought to myself, "if this isn't a sign, I dunno what is!!!"

Well, there's at least one. Notcigs makes their own... or has them made by their machinist, anyway. They are USA made.

I'm not sure where Rob gets these very awesome connectors in the REOs, but it's the nicest one I've seen on any device. In fact, on the maybe 80-100 mods I've had in my hands, only three have had connectors I think stand head and shoulders above the rest - REO's, Notcigs, and Kalamazoo (an asterisk for the kalamazoo connector is that the threads are a little deep for some attys and cartos). ---- I've said this many times on ECF and a couple of other forums: Of all the mods I've had and of all the mods I've had give me trouble, the connector is the single most common point of failure and a high quality connector is the one thing I absolutely require.

You should have read my posts in the lounge during that first wood sale. I knew I would have more REO's. But was really hesitant with the woods. I asked lots of questions and waited till most had sold.

Me too. I really hesitated about wood... and my VV Woodville was 100% an impulse buy. I figured I'd get it and use it until the metal VVs came out and then sell it or trade it for metal... That didn't happen. It turned out to be the best money I ever spent on anything vaping related. -- I still might get a metal VV one of these days, but this VV Woodville has been a part of my daily life and with me all day every single day (except fishing days - I use my mini when I'm around water) for a year and a half now. It has proven reliable and durable.

And - it's light. I carry a lot of stuff on me during the day and weight is important. Batteries in and a full bottle of juice, it weighs under 5.5 ounces (I think I scaled it at 152 grams when I typed up a review). It's only an ounce heavier than my pocket knife. That's just incredible.

LOL! I know funny!

But I was using a KR808 and it was a huge step to get away from the cig-a-likes. The box in general was not too appealing but the functions were what I wanted.

I was raised when we were transitioning from wood to plastic or metal. I always considered metal more durable and wood was just, well, pretty!
