Hey!

Mention the drip tips are for comfort! I went through 10 pages of posts wondering why ya'll had drip tips on bottom feeders! I finally busted into chat and asked them. :p

So I was watching youtube videos and happened across the vmod review by grimmgreen, I really dug the bottom feeding, compact aspect of it and quickly learned through other videos (mergryphon?) that the Reosmod is the way to go for this style of mod. Although I do like the looks of the vmod a tad more, I don't like the fact that it seems to be rather fiddley. I like to fiddle, don't get me wrong, I'd just prefer it be on my terms, not in the midst of a nicotine-withdrawing melt-down.

I've watched several videos of different types and the Reo just gets me with how tidy it is, inside and out.

So, I've pretty much decided on the Reo Grand (btw, thanks for everyone that contributed in my new member thread, I knew I could count on the Reonaughts charging in on fresh meat) My roommate just got a Volt and it uses the 18650 battery as well. I spent the day thinking his had two of those batteries and that is why it was so powerful...oops, nope, just the one. So I feel a lot better about going with the Grand.

The lack of pass-thru options is a bit of a bummer for me, as I became accustomed to that with my 510. I guess remembering to cycle out my batteries takes less time than running to the store for smokes, so I can deal with that.

I'd kind of like to ask what you do NOT like, or what you would change about your Reos, and please, don't answer with "I don't have enough of them" since I've gathered that is a pretty common complaint. :)

I've pretty much made up my mind, all I need now is $200.

For someone who owns two grands and a mini, I have to say that the mini has a much preferable fit in my hand, I am also not a fan of the top button, and if only the design was rounded down some I think the grands would be much more comfortable.

Overall though, I'm willing to tolerate the bulk of a grand just to have the long lasting battery life and multiple voltage configurations available. I do wish it were slimmer by just a hair, but that's really getting nit-picky. The Reo single-handedly turned me away from overpriced (or chemically reactive) tank systems. I was *hold fingers a mm apart* this far away from buying my third tank when someone turned me on to reos, and I've never looked back. I'm not married to the "all mechanical" idea either, and I just wish we could get a VV with some more advanced features... Then again, I've almost convinced myself that if a juice isn't good at 3.7v or 6v (or both) it just isn't a good juice.

Anyway, that's my thoughts.
I passed over a Provari twice for A grand, and once for a mini. That ought to tell you something.

It's really difficult to find any fault with my REOs. I have a REO Mini and a REO VV Woodville.

I think the only thing I'd like for my REO mini is a little texture. The metal REOs are machined to a completely smooth surface and anodized. It can be a little bit slippery.

When I first got the mini, I wished for two magnets in the door rather than one to hold it more securely. The rare earth magnets get a stronger affinity towards one another over time and I no longer wish for that.

The VV Woodville: It's a masterpiece. There was one thing and one thing only I wanted to be different and I took care of that myself. The VV trim wheel isn't color coded. A couple of minutes of time and three colors of nail polish took care of that. There is absolutely nothing I would change about the form or function. It looks great - feels great - and performs perfectly. The vape is absolutely consistent - each and every drag is exactly like the last drag and the next drag.

I tried to find something I don't like about my REOs, and I'm sorry, I just can't. I love the ease of use, the ingenious way they just work, well, all the time. I will be getting some of Robs new button covers when they are available. I guess the regular button is not perfect on the metal REOs, but my wood REOs are, for me, perfect. I gave my Son and Fantasy D-I-L REOs to start them on their way to smoke free lives, and I wouldn't give them anything I didn't think was the best in form, function and affordability.

Ok, I have a question about the red. I'm really, really picky on my reds. Is it a true, true red? Is it shiny or matte finish? Some of the pics of red ones, it looks kind of wonky, but I think that's an artifact of the digitizing process.

I like absolute red, not pinkish, not subdued, but slap you in your face, ..... red!

Otherwise, I'll pick another color. :p

As long as you don't use the mod you can always exchange the mod for another color

The red is not "....." red as you say. We have a Grand and a Mini that are red- slightly different- different anodizing periods, but it's between the "....." bright red you mention (I would think apple?) and Wine Red...if that makes any sense. Yes, it's sheen sort of- not really shiny. Certainly not a matte finish- hope this helps.

The only thing I dislike about my REO is that it leaves me no desire for other PV's!

So true! Again, my nitpicks are just that, nitpicks. I have to reach pretty far to imagine a way to improve on the grand, but I will say that all else being equal, I wish it was a little more comfortable to hold. Still though, I haven't bought a non reo since my first grand, so it must not matter that much.

Also, I'm new too, but didn't think to start a thread to introduce myself.

The REO is 100% perfect the way it is. An 18650 battery coupled with a 1.5 ohm atty is pure bliss. I just like to fiddle, and try new things which is why I came up with this... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/272570-vv-passthru-grand.html It corrects the "no passthru option" gripe. There are a few different ways of doing of course, and it should not be attempted by anyone without knowledge of electronics.
I have no gripe with the REO at all. an 18650 will get most vapers through a whole day. a 6ml bottle should get most anyone through a day. I could nit pick with anything, but gripes are another story.

On the Grand, more rounded would indeed be a nice improvement, but I really don't know how you would do that and have a door the slides correctly also. Otherwise, all other REO's are just perfection!! They all vape to the degree that vaping is humanly possible with the technology that we have! It's a no-brainer, to have a Reo, if you're a Vaper!!!

GroundControl: Welcome! Please feel free to elaborate and make yourself at home. ;)

SammyT: Wait....vv passthrough for grand? I have no skill with electronics, other than I dated lots of electrical engineers in college...none of it rubbed off though. What would you charge for modding one for someone?

Just finished my first shift of my new job. I can see a Reo in my near future...they have me on-call 3 days...
