Knowing what you know now, imagine you have to get rid of all your current Reo mods, except for one. Which one would you keep?

 Wha... What is this blasphemy of which you speak? (The horror!)

Ok, being forced to take the matter seriously - but having a really hard time doing it since I bought my first five Reos within nine weeks... Reo Grand with a RM2. Because that would flat-out just work, and give you - not me (because my other five Reos ain't going no place - capicse?) - the longest battery run time. LP Grand if you really, really think you are gonna stray off the path and want to put one of those other attys on it. But you can always get the LP Grand... next week.

Gotta go. I feel strangely compelled to clutch my Woodvilles to my bosom now.

I'll just throw in my 2 cents. Kinda rambling, but hey, it's late :)

I have 2 14500 minis, 4 regular grands, and an SL grand. I run RM2's on all of them. But a lot depends on what you plan on doing. If you're looking for just simple, no hassle vaping, go with a TRA SL grand and RM2. I can't remember how long it's been since I built a new coil, this one's got to be about 2 months old, at least.

If you're planning on doing a lot of playing around with RBA's, get the LP version. The SL is really nice, but I don't find the normal grand to be particularly heavy.

I'd recommend the grand, for battery and juice capacity. Beyond that, ANY grand is probably the best vape you'll ever get. If you vape less than 3 ml of juice in a day, by all means get the mini.

I wanted to rid myself of all the fiddling that comes with vaping, so for me, a grand (whatever style). No fiddling, no hassles, excellent vape every time and it should easily last years.

ETA: it *will* last years, I'm still using the grands I bought in 2011, and they vape just the same as the latest one (SL TRA grand) I got.

ETA2: I lied. It's only been a couple weeks since I wrapped a new coil, I had to add a couple of wraps to "soften" the hit after I installed the new high efficiency contacts. Prior to that, it really was a couple of months.

I like my two minis. The grand is too big and heavy for my taste. I wish my minis were lighter. With an RBA attached it'll really weight down a shirt pocket. I'd luv to see a delrin based mini.

Just FYI... and also because it's the coolest thing ever: Check this out.. Skeletonized grands and minis for quite a lot of weight reduction.

I only have one reo (so far) and it is the Grand. It was love at first toot for me. The Woodvil is definitely on my list because I love the feel of wood. Congrats and I look forward to see whatcha got and how happy you are. I have been vaping for over a year but until I got the reo, I didn't know it could get better. It did. I see happy vaping in the near future.

See if you can find a pic with them side by side. IMHO Rob should put comparison pics of them on his site so you can really tell and there is a big difference. True, the grand has longer batt life and 6ml vs 3ml bottle but it isn't a problem. I carry a very small backback around with me with my juice, backup mini, atties, batts and other vape stuff and I imagine that most everyone who vapes does.

Hope this helps

The need to carry a backpack defeats the purpose of a Reo.

Everyone who vapes might.

Everyone who uses a Reo Grand certainly does not.

Congrats, sir! I followed a standard vaping path, much like you: egos and clearos to vv devices to high end mechs and rbas. The sad thing is I looked into Reos when I first jumped from an ego and decided it had to be hype. That there was no way that this device could be perfect. Let me tell you, it is.

I've since unloaded all my mechanical mods and converted my kit over entirely to Reos. With the Reomizer, they are perfect. Look no further.

I won't belabor what others have said here, but give yourself some options with the LP version. Make it a super light (SL) LP and you'll be set. Any atty, any time, and feather light to boot.

whoa! I missed that VV's are no longer being made... heheh

I've been around since just before the metal Reo's came out, and sweet memories of leaving the mess of dripping behind (not so sweet when trying to win one in the first batch- and again :( thumbs down trying to get a VV grand in first runs too)...

Lucky for you all you got to do is choose now, and the built in SO is going to be your ticket to controling the type of vape you want through the whole spectrum of resistances.
Another lucky choice is the LP as mentioned, not to mention this thing is indestructable.

Please go ahead and get an RM2 and get to micro coiling with cotton ball wick; he has them for either LP and regular drip well - the difference is only in how it looks on either.
With the LP you can add a growing number of atomizers modded for b/f... My Origen v2 w/b/f pin is just awesome at .45 ohms. *if you haven't sub ohm'ed yet, take it slow and safe. Its the only way i fly now for at least a year.

And if you love or have a hankering for tube devices, like me, you might find that keeping the tubes at home and the Reo's in the car and truck, or backpack is a fine system

OT PSA: I've seen mention in this thread of keeping spare batteries in cars, and implication of keeping a Reo in a car or truck. Just a friendly reminder that it's a really bad idea to keep Li-On batteries in a parked & closed up vehicle. High cabin temperatures in a closed up car combined with Li-On batteries is not a safe thing.

I'll have to check that out... i keep my IMR AW 1600's as backup for my SO grand (.45 ohms lasts me an hour of chain vaping)
Are IMR's Li On?

Grand for sure. LP if you plan on using any topper besides RM2, cyclone (without AFC), REO version Igo, or Divo, standard if you're planning on sticking with one of those 4 (the catch cup is nice to have if you are using a topper that fits). I'd go with black wrinkle body and your color door or hammertone silver, personally. Classy looks, durable finish. Congratulations on making the decision to step up to the best mod on the market!

I do not carry a back up anything ...... I have a REO ..... I can head out of the house for a 10 hour day with a Grand or Woodvil ... thats all. Thats what the REO is all about!

Pic like this ??

Note the Grand is almost exactly the same size as a standard business card .......

The mini is tiny ....... TRUST ME they are both smaller than you think :D

I'm somewhat familiar with battery tech. I want to repeat this.
It's not a good idea to keep Li-xx batteries, or any device with a Li-xx in them, in a hot vehicle.
Be safe.

As someone NOT familiar with battery tech ..... I would say thats just common sense .........
Thanks to Rick and yourself for pointing it out to those that might be lacking........

Excuse me while I run out and grab that 190 degree can of hairspray out of my baking hot car.

From the Panasonic Lithium Ion Technical Handbook, page 24:

" Do not place the
battery in direct sunshine, or use or store the battery inside cars in hot weather. Doing so may cause the
battery to generate heat, explode, or ignite. Using the battery in this manner may also result in a loss of
performance and a shortened life expectancy."

Thanks to the above for pointing this out.

.
 Hee Hee

While the newer lithium battery tech is safer. The high ambient temperature can still cause overheating. It also increases the open circuit discharge rate that lithium batteries exhibit. Causing a fully charged battery stored as a back-up to lose it's charge even though not connected to anything. The high temperatures also reduce the overall life of the battery. Low temperatures also reduce overall battery life.

Actually your can of hairspray analogy isn't off the mark. (A little weird, bit we'll discuss that later...) Li-On batteries are pressurized. You just can't get your bouffant working if you ever hear one go HSSSSS! and vent though.
