You can always mail yourself multiple copies of it in case there are multiple attempts on your idea infringement.

Back in the days of the BBS there was talk about the PMC (Poor Man's Copyright).

You mail yourself copies of the plans, and they are postmarked. Do this with multiple copies so if it happens multiple times you can whip them out in court.

I know very little if this will ACTUALLY stand up in court, but someone here should be able to tell ya', we have Ninjas of all types here!

I am not sure if an idea can be copyrighted, only the plans right?

(Whoops didn't see the single "POST" post above... but the idea is the same... PMC.)

Guys, this is a SUPPORTIVE forum. If someone writes that they think they've just discovered the latest way to slice bread, be SUPPORTIVE. We don't need folks flinging out statements like 'we don't care' in ECF. If you really DON'T care, move onto another thread and keep your comments to yourself. :nah:

Now, everyone play nice..

I used to work for patent attorneys, and I think that the best thing to do would be to make an appointment with a good patent and trademark firm to present your idea.

A search needs to be done to see if there is anything else similar on the market or if your idea might infringe on the patent of an item that might already exist.

My 2 cents

It is the patent office's job (not that they do it very well) to determine if you really have invented something "new" or not. If you think you have, then you can file a provisional patent application yourself for $120. That will give you a year to figure out if it's worth submitting a full application. If the idea isn't worth at least $120 to you, then there's no reason to continue.

I don't know what could possibly make them look nicer. I have thought of transparent plastic ones (with a reflective aluminum tube inside) which would cause the whole battery to glow when the LED lights up, but vaping in traffic, especially at night could be dangerous. As for different designs, the 'Premium' supplier already has flower batteries, printed circuit batteries, etc.

What could make it look nicer, I wonder? I know there's all kinds of mods out there, cigarette lighters, flashlights, cellphones, but it really needs to look like an ecig. for many people.

I am just too curious now, sorry  .

I hope you filed the patent or license already, I wanna know
what is it?
How soon can you tell us?
:)
