I think it depends to a certain extent on how a person takes care of their equipment. If you're someone who is mindful of how you handle your equipment, I'm willing to bet it will last at least until you're in a position to get a provari. If it last any longer, you'll have a nice backup device. :) That's all you really need it to do correct? The manufacturing? Meh, it's on par with the cost and the cost balances out the equation...besides, I don't see it failing any sooner that any of the other plethora of mass produced pv's out there...Lava Tube, zmax, etc.

Yes, I plan to have my Vamo as a backup when I get my provari in the future. If the vamo was shorter then it would have been perfect! (even with just 18350 battery it is still to long for my likeing). It does feel very solid and I am convinced it will last me a long time :vapor:

I'm very happy with my Vamo purchase. Variable wattage is just so great. I haven't dropped mine yet but have knocked it over without any consequence.

Before I purchased mine, it was between the Siegali Zmax and the Provari. In the end, I was going to buy a blemished Provari but then started reading about the Vamo and glad that I did. I would only now purchase a Provari if they release a variable wattage version. There's really nothing wrong with the Vamo aside from the metal button hitting the stainless body, but I never shake the hell out of it anyways.

I have had my "black chrome" vamo for a little over a month. I got a j-wrap for it right away because the finish will wear off. It has been dropped twice so far. first time was from my work van in 18350 mode to the grass. no problems. The second drop was today. (I was comming on here to brag about this one anyway) I'm having some health problems that landed me in the hospital. Anyway, I dozed off while holding it and it fell about 4 feet to the hard tile floor. Picked it up opened it to checkout the 18650. Battery was good, threads still nice and smooth, no visual damage what so ever. 5 clicks and it came on. My 2ohm protank(which also survived the fall) still reads 2.0. so I layed on the fire button and she is still making clouds for me.I love this thing. Whenever it dies I'll upgrade to a ss version but I feel like that may be a while from now.

Any update on this device? Is your VAMO still alive?

Yes, I've had it over 6 months. Since I last posted in this thread I've accidentally knocked it off a table and sent it flying. Still works. The vivi nova attached to it was hit so hard it jammed sideways on the centrepost. I thought this must be it - it will be busted. Pulled the vivi straight - which took a real tug to do, and unscrewed it. Vamo still works fine.
Its chrome and there was one small spot under the fire button that had worn so I j-wrapped it.
I also have a gun metal chrome which works fine - it hasn't had as much use since this chrome one has kept working so well. But I will get a clear wrap for the gun metal I think - they are known to wear after a while.

Yeah, it sure is heavy. Not very "girl" friendly. Thats one of the reasons I want a mini provari! :)

If you think the VAMO feels heavy and solid, wait until you hold a ProVari. Now THAT is a heavy device. It's unlike anything you've probably ever held. At first, you wonder if it might be "too heavy", and it actually might be for some. The VAMO is light as a feather compared to it.
