how long do i hold down the button while taking a "drag?" the instructions say not to hold down the button longer than 5 seconds to avoid overheating of the atomizer. so do i just hold it down for like a couple seconds or what? does it still produce vapor if i stop pressing the button? how does the atomizer stay wet if im just putting a filled cartridge on top?

Just wanted to say Welcome to ECF. Your gonna get a lot of replies about this I think. Don't count seconds. Forget the numbers. The atomizer should stay wet. I know when I got my first kGo's the stuff they sent was really nasty to me. IMHO. Sit back and vape. If it taste burnt then the atty is dry and burning. Not a good thing. I went to a vivi nova really quick. Some people like em and some hate em. This is a great big life learning experience. Don't stress and be well by friend. And come back often so you can get more answers.

oh ok. so the instructions say to charge the batteries for 8hrs, use it for 20 minutes, then charge it for another hour. is that really necessary? also, what's the life span of a kgo battery?

No, there is no need to follow those directions. Just charge them until the light turns green on the charger and vape away.

IIIRC KGOs are supposed to take around 150-200 full charges before failure.

Hi Crash. If it's anything like the kGo kit I just got, the battery has a safety built in to where it cuts off after ten seconds of being held, as if you maybe put it in your pocket and it was being pressed unintentionally. Mine has the CE5 clearo and I really like it. The amount of time that you would press the button will really just depend on how much of a hit you want, and I've also learned that even different fluids I will hold for different amounts of time. For example, the watermelon I have hits real hard, so I hold the button VERY briefly, but my mint menthol is quite nice and I hold the battery for pretty long drags. I am also new to this, but after trying the Blu Cigs for a month, I am happy I made the switch. Does yours look like this,/ which is what mine is:

For what its worth ...My experience on any kind of rechargeable is to use till dead and then charge fully to get the maximum life of the battery.

What state of 'dead' though? Most APV will bar the device from firing because of low battery voltage. On the Provari its 3.2v and it won't fire any more.

If you severely discharge a li-ion to the 2v range I think there is damage.
