Good thing about DIY is being able to adjust your nic easily. I've been vaping for 6 years and been at 7mg for the last few years. That's with 1.2ohm coils at around 12W. No idea what a Caliburn is. Basically when you get new gear you need to play around with the nic until it feels right. You will need more at lower power but what works for me might not be right for you.

Good luck
The Caliburn is a really popular little 11 watt pod device that I purchased as an inexpensive way to reintroduce myself to lower wattage vaping again. Before I get into rebuildables and whatnot, I am also going to purchase a MTL tank. I am leaning towards the Innokin Zlide but have also considered the Aspire Tigon. Open to any other suggestions for a MTL tank as well.

Welcome to ECF @Redbird11. I do own a tigon and suit me since I can do MTL if I wanted to but I'm doing RDL atm. Love my tigon tank but I certainly have heard good things about the zlide or zenith for tight MTL.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might want to choose atomizer that will allow almost any build for low wattage and promote the ease of building/testing a coil(s) in different wattages.
re: 2015: The Art of the Drip - A Dripping Primer | Spinfuel VAPE
The mod and battery you will need will most likely be dependent on your personal preferences and less on your choice of vaping in low wattages (standard ohms).

I will probably buy a Zlide now to get back into MTL, then I am looking to grab some RTA tanks. I've been doing my research, trying to find ones that offer easy building. I am also looking to get a couple of smaller mods to go with the tanks when I am out and about. I prefer single battery mods as opposed to the internal batteries for longevity reasons.

There are plenty of good single battery mods out there, even you could get the Kroma-r which in a kit comes with the slide. Mine above is a 18650 eagis solo mod.

Good luck on your search

I have been considering both the Kroma-r and the Aegis solo. I used to have Aegis Legend and know that their products are incredibly durable and well made. I was trying to determine if either the Kroma or the Solo would be comfortable carrying around for out and about vaping. I would like something a bit compact. The Vaporesso Swag 2 has also caught my eye.

Normally when buying a mod I go into a shop and get a feel for what they are like before purchase. However, everything going on in regards to the virus outbreak, I am limited to shopping for hardware online.

I guess all of them might be quite comfortable. The picture I pod ed above is the aegis solo (the pencil might give an idea of size), I heard the Kroma is very comfortable like a bike handle . I don't know much about the swag but owners love it. There are a few honest reviews here in ECF. You could search them up.

It's bummer than you can't go in store to have a feel for them, that's the best way in general.

I agree. I have always bought mods in store so I can get an idea of quality and comfort. I was hoping to find something that would be comfortable to carry in a front pocket if need be.

Thanks. I had not read those reviews yet. I seem to keep going back to the Swag 2. It seems pretty compact and I like the form factor. Aegis Solo also appears to be high quality, but might be less pocket friendly.

I don't know about the swag but I think it might be more pocket friendly than the solo which I own and isn't very front pocket friendly lol is a bit bulky.

@Cloud-FF7 owns a swag. He might be able to give you a better idea :)

Found this link with a lot of information on the SWAG 80W:

Vape Shop Online E-Cigarette & E-liquid Best For Sale

Personal opinion:

It is a nice and small device for starting.
SWAG 80W was the second vaping device i bought, started vaping with one of those cheapo pens and after a couple of months i wanted an upgrade so i went for a SWAG 80W.

Me personally if i knew there was an Aegis Solo i would have got that one instead, not that the SWAG 80w is bad but aesthetic wise i prefer the solo but then again im more into rugged looking mods.

If you decide to get the Swag 80w try to take out the battery and the cover of said battery once you finish putting a new coil and cotton in your atty.

Not that there is a problem but if sometimes my atty leaked i liked to have it all clean so once i had the atty primed and ready i would remove it from the Swag 80w,unscrew the battery cover and remove the battery.
Then i would just clean around the battery port so it would be nice and clean, doesn't take long and it's good for the health of your mod.

Also when dropping the battery in the hole try to do it vertically,i mean just line it up and pop in,if you have the battery inclined the ridges where the cap goes might scratch the plastic cover of the battery.

Apart from that i can't say much, never tried the Aegis so i can't comment but im guessing performance wise it won't be much of a difference so in this case i would say just go for the looks, size difference isnt that much anyway.

good luck

Thanks for your input. I appreciate the advice about the battery removal to protect it from leakage.

At this point i'm pretty certain I will purchase the Swag II in the next few days. In all honesty I will probably purchase a second smaller mod as well, possibly the Aegis Solo. Although I will admit that I just found out about another one that caught my eye. This Asmodus Colossal looks pretty interesting.

There is an actual term for it called "choice paralysis". Too many options actually makes you less likely to make a decision. And one thing the vaping world is not lacking in is options. Btw, I have already decided on the Swag 2. Now I get to decide on my second small mod!

Good for you,
Oh hey before i forget, you should get a case like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/ModShield-VAPORESSO-Silicone-ByJojo-Shield/dp/B077R1KBT7

Not that one perse, just any you find that you like and is at a good price.
I dropped my mod a couple of times and without the case i doubt it would have kept on working.

cheers

This is what I prefer over the Solo. Solo is a good, tough mod, and lighter than the Colossal. But pocket friendly? Not so much for me, because of the rubber coating- kind of makes it a pain to get in and out of the pocket- grabs the fabric. I put mine in the stash.

Colossal is my absolute favorite single 18650 mod right now. They're extremely well built, and have a really nice, unique touch screen. Recessed button is easy to use and prevents pocket/briefcase firing. I bought a couple- the most recent from VaporRange, who got it to me in about a week. And they have them now for $31.95. There may be coupon codes available, too. There were when I bought, and it brought the price down to about $22.00.

Totally agree with everything @Brewdawg1181 said on the Colossal's. I have several and they are one of my favorite single 18650 mods. They're tough too. My dog has sent them flying off tables with her tail. The cat likes to knock mods over for fun, freaking cat. They just work.
IMG_0103cr2.jpg

I have a few Solo's and they are seriously tough mods. Not pocket friendly though. Unless you're wearing like cargo pants.

Another solid option is the Eleaf Pico 75W single 18650. Those have a very loyal following here. And they can take a beating. The wife used to drop hers all the time. Still worked fine. If you get one I would advise upgrading it with the Arctic Fox firmware. AF brings its performance up to nearly that of a Evolv DNA chip.

All of those do TC really well too (provided Pico has AF).

Good luck!
