I am just wondering what kind of atty should I use when I put a drip tip on my ego 650 and 1100 batteries? I have fried a couple of regular 510 attys within minutes on these batteries and that really stinks, I only have a couple left and I don't want to kill them but I do like dripping when I am home as opposed to using the tanks, it just tastes better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to learn all I can but its going to take me awhile as this is an ever evolving hobby or interest.

Are you Vaping dark juices! Are the atties making any noise, a Slight hiss maybe. If you are Vaping dark juices you might want to try dry burning. Search for resurrection mod on this site. I was going thru atties very fast before I found that method. Now I just throw them in a container till I run out of usable atties, then I clean them and start all over again. Also if lr atties feel sluggish after that use them on a 5 volt instead of 3.7. This has extended the life of my atties.

Sorry for a double post but with the ego you should switch batteries every two or three hours. They have a fast drop off performance wise and you will find you are holding the button down longer to get the same experience you were when the battery was fresh. This was the issue I had with the ego and the reason I moved to a liion mod.

Rubbish!

One of the things that some folks hate about the eGo is Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) that gives you a constant hit from start to finish until the low voltage cut off on the battery. A true JoyE batt will put out a constant 3.2/.3 V. OTOH the batts that deliver 3.7V (Riva and some others) fresh off the charger will require changing after a couple of hours.

I have twoi of the 750(not sure number were given to me) Joye 510 Ego batteries and 3 Ego T batteries and I had this issue while using all of them. Granted the egot bats took longer. Maybe it is in my head or maybe it is the fact I was using LR Atties with them. I am totally uncertain. I can tell you that after 2-3 hours I would have 5o grab another battery as my atties were getting slugish and it was taking me longer to get the same hit. As soon as I threw it onto another battery, then I was good to go for a little while longer.

I understand what you are saying switch, my wife uses them now and she loves them with reg cartos. But this was the behaviour I consitenntly saw. Maybe some of it is due to the low voltage. I dont know. So I will just say it was what I experienced but should not have experienced :)

Wow! You were definitely hitting them batts hard especially with LRs. Vaping LRs on non IMR batts lead to premature aging of the batteries and diminished performance as time goes on.

Its why I shortly moved up to a mod that took IMR and LiIon. I am still a noob but I think I have some things figured. I am no longer using and trashing a pile of atties every week so that is really good. Dark juices I guess can really shorten the life of atties. Thanks switched, I have read some of your other replies and I have found them very informative. I was just telling you my experience with the Ego and Ego T batteries. Now I have the vaping level I was looking for.

I am so grateful for all of this information. My batteries are ego t and rivas and mine don't last anytime at all, I have three on a charger at any given time. Maybe they are getting old, plus I am a heavy vapor, left over behavior from chain smoking and life being tough right now (nerves). I do realize that I am treating them badly and am going to do better thanks to your advice.

I am in the same boat as you were. I now get about a month + out of my atties. Definitely need to look at getting a mod soon, you will enjoy it more. I still have some that die within two weeks, but most last longer now. The pile of ordered unopened ciscos are a testament to that.

For folks chain vaping you might want to up your nic.

Yes dark liquids, sweet liquids and heavily laden VG liquids all lead to premature atty death IMO.

Batteries if used properly (and of quality) should last you the better part of a year. My originals eGos lasted me 14 months before they bit the dust. Mind you I never used them with LRs. I sacrificed 14500s for that task. $3.99 was better than $23 IMO <--- Cdn price when the eGos were first introduced.

Sorry for being so curt in my original reply. I am so used to having to defend JoyE technology with regards to what hits better. I have an 18650 eGo (self made) and the most satisfying one is still the eGo. Why I'm in for performance in an endurance run vice 20-30 great hits. OTOH My VV eGo with switching regulator will get you there and back. I vape that puppy at 4.2V (under load), no need for more and it hits like a 5V (4.5/.6 under load)

I loved the Ego, it got me off of analogs and still provide a good back up. I don't chain vape because of nic, it is just habit. I never smoked indoors a whole lot, but when I got a smoking hotel, I went through analogs like water. So with vaping where I can vape indoors, I get into programming and I just sit and vape while I am working through stuff. More nic for me just makes me sick really.
