Ok, so heres my disclaimer. I am a fairly new vaper so I am still learning about the in and outs of vaping.

I will try to make this short whilst still providing all the relevant facts.

I purchased a standard eGo starter kit (From Liberty Flights if that matters at all) and was using it fine for about one week. I came to the conclusion that direct dripping was the way to go for me with that particular hardware. That being the case I purchased a Drip Tip (Delrin - metal) and within a couple dripping sessions (not even that like, I think one or two tops) the atty (standard 510) started to give really easy and airy draws and was sucking juice like a monster. As in like 3-4 drops would be one (maybe two) good draws. On top of that, it started to leak. So I broke out the other atty that came with the kit, and the same thing happened. One atty I can chalk up to bad luck, learning curve, or just the fact that the universe seems to be against my quitting analogs. But TWO?

Now I said I am new to vaping and not a ...... I realize that the drip tip affecting an attie's behavior is highly improbable (impossible?) but this was the only thing I changed about what I was doing so I thought it could be relevant.

Other possible relevant facts:
Juice is 100% PG Tobacco Flavor (also from Liberty Flights)
Standard Battery (Fully charged)
The first one I was heavily vaping on (but no more heavily than I had the week leading up to this)
I had probably put 15ml of juice through the first atty and no more than 2ml through the second.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could cause both of these atties to fry like that?

I really like LF as a vendor and I hope I may be able to send them in, but it may be too late. I'm not sure yet nor have I inquired.

Thanks for reading and any possible help.

Cheers,
VMS

If it was leaking that would mean it had too much elqiuid in it. But usually when one is overfilled you will get juice in your mouth. How much were you dripping at a time. In the woderful world of vaping you would never have trouble with atomizers. Over 1 1/2 years of using atomizers and always having one problem or another i switched to cartomizers. I order them without liquid and fill them myself. At .80 each (Eastmall) lasting about 2 days (I throw it away if it doesn't produce good) it is much cheaper for me. By using these I get a consistent hit. I was also drippping every 2-3 draws on an atomiers but with a cartomizer you only use 10-15 drops to start with and that last over an hour. You don't even need a drip tip.

I will never use another atomizer again. They are entirely too much trouble.

Are you sure the atty is fried and just not flooded. Blow it out and dry burn (no juice) for a few times and see if it comes back. There is a wire that is attached to the atty bottom that touches the battery to make it fire. I have read you can fix this but don't know how because it has never happened to me.

I dripped and got tired of sucking up juice and leaking so I found the joyce mega cartos - very little filler, hold 2ml juice and no loss of flavor. So far its the one for me - until I start hating them.

Flooded your atomizer is all. Take it off, turn it over, blow it into a paper towel. Wipe things up, put it back on, drip a 2 drops and vape. IF it is harsh, add another drop, still harsh, add another. If they are standard 510's I usually add 2 drops vape till I start to get an off taste, then add 2 more. For a LR510 3-4 drops depending on the atomizer.

Blow off the juice and then re-prime.
Put 6 drops carefully, waiting 5 secs between drop, so you give your atty time to soak them into the mesh/wick. Wait for 2 minutes with your atty on a tissue. Dry the trhreads... Vape on... Depending on the perfomance add around 2 drops at a time.
Until you can 'feel' the dryness/ wet status of your atty for sure do not take things for granted. It can be very missleading due to the wide range of factors to the equation. There's a learning curve but if you are trying to go the dripping way I recommend you to read my Ten Commandments in the General Discution sub-forum.
