I'm still new to vaping. Started 6/30/14. Started off with the crazy clown (Ego style) starter kit and progressed to a spinner type battery with an aspire nautilus (gurgler), then an MVP V2 (tank was HORRIBLE) and got a patriot clone to go on top of it. Realized that the patriot just wasn't meant for the MVP so I got an HCigar copper Nemesis to put in on. I've spent countless hours on YouTube and reading forums till my eyes crossed about coils, batteries, ohms law, electrical currents, yada yada yada. Once I've started to drip there was no turning back. I picked up a TOBH clone from Tobecco which was good but leaked occasionally and taking off the top cap was a PITA at times. The TOBH is a copper atty so it would patina the inside like crazy. Then I got a 3D Dripper clone... FAIL. And finally a plume veil clone which I heard so much hype about the flavor and vapor production. It was ok, but flavor wasn't that great, and it leaked a lot from the top cap and the bottom holes that went through the negative post. Also the drip tip delrin piece that would unscrew to open the top air holes wouldn't go all the way down without pushing the top cap up.

So at the end of the day I grab my patriot clone and vape away.

I've come to the conclusion that...

1. Time to buy an authentic.
2. Less is more (parts to an atty)
3. I might need another mech mod.
4. I'm still chasing that "perfect vape"
5. What's gonna happen when I find the perfect vape...

Thanks for reading my rant.

Very similar experience to yours. Got a tobeco patriot clone as my intro dripper....absolutely loved it. Decided to splurge and picked up an authentic tobh 2.5....I'm so spoiled from the wide open airlflow that I don't really use the patriot anymore. The patriot airflow isn't even in the same ball park as the tobh. Been looking at picking up one of the new authentic patriots with the adjustable airflow ring. Plus the price is not outrageous either and they are easy to get.

The one problem I do have with my tobh is how big of a hassle it is to get that jacket off. I mean I have to use all my strength to get it to start moving. I have read where some people took the bottom o ring off and that helped. Haven't tried that yet though.

I ended up drilling out the stock holes on the patriot and it works amazing. As far as the tobh, I don't have problems too much with the sleeve being tight just the top cap at times, plus the condensed juice that collects on the roof of the top cap is gets annoying. I might pick up the SS version seeing as my copper TOBH is high maintenance. I'm also thinking of getting a tugboat just for the simplicity of it and if I need to drill bigger air holes then it won't be a problem.
Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it

I started my dripping experience with a tobh. I then ordered a plume veil, and I am still using it right now. It has been my favorite RDA out of all that I have tried. I dremeled my tobh holes out to one single cylops style hole, and ground down the tabs. it has crazy airflow but not as much flavor as the plum veil. I am running a 1.2 ohm single 26g coil in my plume veil on a IPV2 at 45 watts and it hits like a freight train!

My one and only dripper is a Patriot clone. Drilled the air holes. Best ten bucks I have spent.

Oh, if anyone gets tired of their other styled clones, feel free to send them to me so I can expand my horizons.

It's been really cool to try out new attys but the simplicity of the patriot just keeps me coming back.
