I keep pulling out my feeder tube when changing bottles. Am I doing it wrong?

I mean, it's not that big of a deal, I just pop it right back in there, but seems like it shouldn't be happening. I'm assuming bit's user error, or common.

For reference, when changing bottles, I usually hold it from the back, with the door off (duh), and try and push the bottle a bit so I can grab it, unscrew it, and this is usually when it pops off. I don't know if this explanation makes any sense at all, but there you go.

That explanation is hard for me to picture....but I know that the feeder tube is not supposed to come off when you change the bottle. (Although it isn't that big a deal....but it just shouldn't.) When Rob creates the new REO, he puts a tiny bit of super glue on the nipple before he puts the tube on, then it stays. You might do the same thing.....

When I rebuilt one of my REOs, I didn't use glue on the tube....and it never comes off. Also, when I unscrew the bottle, I hold the cap against the side of the REO so that it doesn't move or have any pressure at all on it. Then unscrew the bottle, fill it, screw it back on...holding the cap against the side of the REO again. Is that what your description above was describing? :)

If you don't want to take the black delrin cover off and superglue it on, then at least really cram it up in there. Maybe even turn it over and use the opposite end if you think the top might be stretched out or something. NOTE: If you DO take the delrin cover off and try to superglue it, be CAREFUL when you're putting the delrin cover back on that you don't strip the screw. It just screws into the aluminum on the back of the REO, and it can be stripped, and it's really hard to fix. Just a heads up.

This is an old vid that Rob did but the same applies for the new REO's when changing out the bottle.

Note: this is an OLD VIDEO, The mod in the Video is no longer in production

That's how I do it, sounds like I just need a dab of glue de super

Thanks all for the help!

I don't know if or how this will help but in 3 years I've never had any of mine pop off even once.

For filling I pop out the battery and pull the bottle forward, hold the cap and unscrew.
Then I stick a piece of paper towel behind the tube to catch any drips while I fill the bottle.
Then screw the bottle back on.

That has always worked for me .... and no mess.

Same here. No mess, no pulling.

i take the whole thing out when i change, i find a weird satisfaction in slipping the tube back over the nipple again. I don't get leaks, just make sure you got air in your line and not liquid, plus i usually only change when the bottles empty so it's pretty dry by then.

My Grand does the same thing. It pops off every time I refill or change bottles. I find it rather convenient. The tubes on all my others stay tight for the most part though.

My feeder tube comes out every time I fill the bottle, but then again, I use all of my bottles without the cap and the spout drilled out because the juices I like generally trash the o-rings. I don't find any problem with it at all. It stays just as tight on the nipple even if you take it off and put it on repeatedly.

I prefer it this way, actually. It keeps the juice covered tube out of the Reo and keeps the inside of the mod cleaner in my experience. I realize that dried super glue isn't going to be that big of a deal, but I also like the idea of keeping anything like that out of my juice system.
