I like my eGo batteries

Howdy. 3 months into vaping, finally getting around to posting here.

I've done a bit of reading about little details, ohm's law, battery safety, regulated and unregulated mods, been shopping for fancy RTA's and what I would need to make them work, and have decided that I prefer my eGo batteries.

I don't have to fuss over proper storage (I keep them in a pen holder... along with pens,) they are quite adequate for they way I am vaping (2Ω microcoils in kanger clearomizers that I rebuild,) and are cheap to replace when they wear out.

I am used to the way they operate. Strong at first, then tapered off a bit just before needing a charge. I'd be afraid of ruining batteries in a mech by running them too low, so I dig the low voltage cut off. Simple.

Of course I would love a decent regulated mod, and eGo's certainly aren't the prettiest, but even clones (along with the additional cost of a charger and batteries) are out of my current budget.

Just getting this off my chest as I read a lot of hate for the eGo's, as though they are a bad thing. I believe they are just fine.

I would have to agree the most with this part of your post. The eGo style is just fine for me as well.

Well, I used to have an eGo pass-through charger with a normal run-of-the-mill cartomizer w/tank a couple years ago, and it was just perfect. However, something that just kept happening is whenever I would accidentally drop my eGo, it would break the battery/chipset. Wouldn't be a huge drop either, just like 5 feet tops. This happened twice, and finally I said forget it.

Anyways, to each their own, but I'm just peachy with my IPV mini now. Vape on!

    Welcome to ECF,

Seeing as I've personally used the following...
    Blu Cig Alike
    Ego T-Tank set up
Too many Mechanical mods to count
    Hybrid Mods
    Numerous VV/VW mods

I've been through the whole scale of what you can use, but here is the real deal for this one. The mod that is the best is the one that KEEPS YOU OFF the cig's, if an E-Go mod is your thing then rock it out and enjoy that, if its not then run with something that is. I'm happy that you found this truth where many have been still searching for this piece of advice for a long while, and that your keeping off the Cigs which is awesome. Some of the VV/VW devices coming out are pocket friendly and don't really look that bad if your looking however please do the research and find the one that you like out of the bunch, I made this mistake many times and found only to be disappointment later down the line after spending money. Keep the faith and keep off them Cigs, if you need anything please do ask as were here to support you.

    :)

hey tirpider, welcome to ECF world

have to say I love my egos also
EGO is the new smokin’ (electronic style)
    low power=cigalikes
    mid power=ego
    hi power=all the rest

I fit into the mid power range, and don’t care to go any deeper
myself I like single coil about 8 watts – done, happy

kinda bugs me when a new member comes in asking for help
and so many JUMP on them “you need a Flamethrower 8000”
    “with this topper @ .15Ω” - dude !

there is some really nice egos hitting the market lately
big mah, dressed up, spring loaded, watts only, displays etc.
a lot to choose from to get the job done (not smoke)

I actually just bought a couple of these (for wife)
    non adjustable 3.7v output (@ 1.5Ω = 9.1w)
    flush spingloaded 510 threads, USB/passthrough charge, 1900mah ! ($14)
Kanger name, price, able to build single coils to match what I want perfect
    - Kanger eVod Mega 1900mAh Battery - EVcigarettes.com

    - Kanger eVod Mega 1900mAh BC Clearomizer Starter Kit - EVcigarettes.com

    - - -

then there is always this ego twist
    - Cfiber 30W Twist battery | Vape

Right on. Thanks for the welcome, folks.

I secretly suspected there were a lot of eGo users since they are sold just about everywhere. But when you start looking at the conversations, it tends to center around mechs, drippers, and lately, box mods. I was beginning to think I switched too late and that the eGo style batteries would be going away soon. I guess there isn't really a lot to say about the eGo's except that they work.

also like to add i consider the MVP an ego device

maybe wth this newest version it is evolving beyond ego status...

Same here. It's like an eGo plus, with all it's features.
If I had the money a few months ago, I would have got one.
As it stands, I am happy with my little round-up. (a short 650mah, a tall 1300mah vv, and 3 ebay evods that turned out to be ~350mah each instead of the advertised 650. Lesson learned. )

Way to go tirpider. Brilliant! I was using an eGo Twist battery for well over a year and a half. It's a great battery and by far the best thing to start with to find out if vaping works for you. I was very happy with it and had no intention of jumping onto something else even then, till I won a Provari here on ECF.

Now I use two provari 2 batteries pretty much exclusively. Why? Because - to me - they are as trouble free and have as great an ease of use as the eGo does. Wouldn't recommend the P for someone starting out simply because of the cost, but IF you decide to go to an even more reliable battery in your vaping travels months into the future or years, then you might consider one - or better have someone get you one for a birthday. Meanwhile, keep on rocking the mighty eGo's!

I'm also really happy with Egos, and evod toppers. I've tried some "better" items - nothing complicated, but protank, emow, etc, and ultimately, I prefer the smaller setup of an ego & evod.

The cheaper batteries don't tend to have a long lifespan, but then they are cheap to replace for around the cost of one packet of cigarettes.

I'm pleased for the health and financial benefits of being off cigarettes.

I've got 2 eGo's and they work fine, For me though, being a chain vaper like I was a smoker, I find flavors becoming a bit muted around 1:00pm, so I just kick up the watts on my eLeaf iStick and am good to go. I might mention that unless you're using a 500 eGo battery, the iStick fits better in a shirt pocket and is less likely to fall out. What ever works....works, rock on!!
