I just got a Vamo V5 and really like it, but still use my Vision Spinner (Ego type) battery a lot, even at home. Mostly because I have a lanyard on it - I have a 4 year old at home, and anyone with children knows that they want to pick up and play with anything! With the lanyard I can keep my setup around my neck and out of her hands. Also use it a lot when going out, as stated by others. I mostly use my Vamo upstairs in my TV/game room when my kid is sleeping or otherwise occupied. mods are really cool, but Ego/Vision Spinners are just too convenient when portability is an issue.

Edit: cleaned up my grammar. :)

Nothing is wrong with Ego style gear. If it is good enough to keep you from smoking then it's good *enough*. I wouldn't feel self conscious about it. Keep doing what works for you. I moved on to more advanced gear because I enjoy it but I would *never* look down on anybody for their choice of kit. If it keeps you off of cigarettes and you are happy with it; rock on and good for you.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I dislike them and think there is something wrong with them. They are round. Round rolls. I've cracked umpteen toppers to rolling off the desk/table/etc. and hitting the floor. Also, I tend to rip the heads off egoes when I carry them in my pants pocket.. Aside from my mini's for stealth, I'll never own another ego.

If you want the same form factor in a much smarter package, look at the VV V3. It is a great device with all the advantages of an ego and a square profile and riveted head

vaping is all about personal preference...some people are able to actual just use the cig-a-likes to stop smoking....
I love my ego as well but the battery life not so much and if you forget to charge it at night you're screwed in the morning....so I then went for a regulated mod where I could pop in a battery and go and it'll last a day or two before needing to change the battery for a new one....just pop in a fresh battery, put old one on charger and you're good to go
now I have an mvp2 and I have to admit for a built in battery it's got a good life to it and it's a passthru charger so can vape while it chargers
if an ego could check my ohms and last me about 2 days I'd be happy :) shoot if a cig-a-like could do that it'd be awesome ;)

I wouldn't feel bad about Egos - whatever that is ;) - I'm going to be puffing on a Blu rechargeable kit which I ordered 20 minutes before finding this forum. I bought a couple of disposables at a gas station just to see if I could smoke less and miraculously haven't smoked at all in three days. The disposables were Blu so when I decided this just might work to kick the smellies I just ordered the best rechargeable kit they had. Imagine my shock at all the options when I found this forum! Of course the kit I've already ordered is the leper of the vaping world

The only stuff I have is ego-styled stuff so far, but I kinda agree about the form factor. The box mods certainly seem better for pocketing and general stability. That said, I solved the toppling problem by simply putting them in a glass cup when not in use.

eh Thia blu is hit and miss....sometimes they are good usually they are bad...but if nothing else they are handy to have for emergency backups later on in your vaping journey.

Thank you Shadav. I'll keep that in mind if I ever figure out all these strange contraptions. For now maybe sticking with the simplest possible option is best - just trying to figure out what some of these pieces and parts of various thingamabobs are is making me want to smoke :D

Nothing is wrong with an ego set up! I have just spent the entire day researching the provari, REO and the iTaste. I really don't have the $ for the provari or REO at this time and might go with the iTaste to use at home. After all day on this forum and internet, my head is spinning with rewicking, recoiling, etc. I like being able to put in a new coil and vaping away! I guess I could save money if I would learn to do those things, but I think for now, I'm happy saving what I do by not smoking! Maybe a mod is in my future someday, but right now I am doing fine with my egos! Besides I have 10 ego batteries and 15 tanks! Every time one of my friends buys a mod, they give me their old ego related equipment! Enjoy your egos and no matter what your vaping journey brings, stay smoke Free!

No, they're not, Thia26, and good for you for quitting the smokes! Only real problem with Blus is that for too many of us, they weren't enough to let us want to give up the smokes. I actually like "cigalikes" now that I've overcome the smoking addiction....Many of us end up being too curious and wanting to try this, try that - especially once we get on ECF or find a brick-and-mortar ecig shop full of shinies!! You might too; but if not and if Blus work for you, more power to you!! Good luck!!

I keep hearing about mods and really advanced things with voltage that I feel a little self-conscious about bringing out my little Ego batteries. I don't think I'll ever be particularly advanced when it comes to vaping, especially since this is mainly a smoking alternative. It seems like everyone at work went the advanced route, with these giant batteries and mods.

What's really wrong with Egos that no one sticks with them?

Mostly curiosity, bamani....!! Some of the other kinds of PVs and toppers do provide more taste, more vapor, stuff like that. But there is nothing wrong with the eGo and that's what I quit on. Will keep that trusty little eGo forever, in gratitude!! I have a number of them, but out of curiosity I too bought numerous other PVs. I like everything I have and use a variety of things. Like some others said, the smaller form factor is more convenient to carry around out and about. I still actually like that smaller form factor better than the bigger ones. I also really like the square form factor of the Innokin VV V3 and have one of each color.

Good luck to you and if you don't really want to buy a bunch of different stuff, don't!! It's absolutely not necessary!

What's Wrong with eGos? Where should I begin?

First of all, Nothing. Well... that's about it.

My Go To Out-n-About PV is a 650mAh Twist with a CE2 attached to it. A Perfect Size to fit in a Shirt Pocket. And it Doesn't Draw a Crowd when I use it.

I'm still new to vaping and just upgraded to VV. Put an aerotank n a nautilus and my juices multiplied in flavor. Except for mbv. Gappler or whatever it's called is still better to shine shoes then to vape. But the adjustable air flow with VV Def took me halo to another level.
1000s were longer then I expected but for now until I understand rba and rda and rebuilding coils, egos r my world.
