I keep hearing about mods and really advanced things with voltage that I feel a little self-conscious about bringing out my little Ego batteries. I don't think I'll ever be particularly advanced when it comes to vaping, especially since this is mainly a smoking alternative. It seems like everyone at work went the advanced route, with these giant batteries and mods.

What's really wrong with Egos that no one sticks with them?

Nothing wrong with ego’s – They work great and are easy to carry. I have a few other mods and bigger tanks that I use at home but I take an ego VV 650 and a ce5 or mini vivi nova when I head out. If they didn’t work they wouldn’t sell so many of them. This is an “enthusiast” form so the hobby gear gets a lot of talk but I would bet that your average vapor staying off the analogs is sucking on an EGO and doing just fine. Vape on..

Hubby still uses his ego and he is reluctant to move to a VV. I have a SMOK winder VV that I love, ironic because he was eyeing VV batteries and I kept telling him no don't get that you will burn it up. Now I have one and I'm trying to convince him. He takes loooong draws and vapes a lot so when I didn't know anything I thought he would turn it up too high and burn lots of wicks but now I think he can graduate. Egos are great really, like someone else said as long as it keeps you off the real ones, doesn't matter

There's nothing wrong with egos, except maybe the smaller battery capacity. I've gone back to taking egos with me when I leave the house. Paired with a good topper it's still a satisfying vape. I have a glass evod on one and an aerotank mini on the other. Both perform very well.

He doesn't even need to play with the voltage to get something out of VV batteries. The main thing I like about them is that you get the same amount of vapor until the battery is depleted. It's great, and a basic Vision Spinner is an inexpensive upgrade.

I love my egos. I have a Provari that I also love, but (for me) it is a lot easier to tote around an ego and I don't worry so much about losing one (I have like 4 of them--one I bought just because it was pink!). The vape on my Provari is better, yes, but the smaller batteries still serve the nicotine delivery purpose well enough for me.

I just picked one up this morning for a smoker buddy, since I'm not convinced he'll stick to vaping. After trying it out this morning.... NOW I'm not so sure he'll pry it out of my hands. Nice alternatives to the 5 lb bricks I've been carrying around.

I'll second this. My wife vapes very occasionally and she likes to use my spinners with an EVOD. After she had finished with it, I tried that setup after months of using a REO or mech / APV / kayfuns and I was surprised about how good it tasted. I'd also forgotten at how light it was in my hand.

So much so that I took that set up to work for a few days after.

Nothing wrong at all with egos. They are a great battery, especially in VV form. As someone else mentioned, Vaping is not a contest and someone that uses cig-a-likes is just as much a 'real vaper' as someone else who sub-ohms with mechs.

Keep rocking those egos proudly.

I have a couple mechs, drippers and VV/VW devices with more "advanced" tanks and my 650 mah EVOD kit is still used. A lot, especially indoors at work to sneak a couple stealth vapes. I actually started working at Cabela's and just today they announced that e-cigarette use in the building isn't allowed, which means someone got caught doing it, and I -know- it wasn't me. :glare:

I've since been building and wicking my own coils and everything about vaping is more like a hobby now. Loving every second of it and I have no intention of ever quitting. :vapor:

I took the kids to an outdoor car show today proudly sporting a spinner with evod on its lanyard the entire time. :D

I use them a lot, with evods or mini pt2. Nothing wrong with them at all. I have an MVP but it doesn't leave the house. In fact it rarely leaves my desk. I work from home and it gets a workout, but for me the ego is a good vape that can't be beat for weight, size, and portability. Rock that ego!

to ecfbamani71. So glad that you are here. Are you still smoking? If not, you are doing everything right and have all the right stuff. I was totally happy with the ego style but soon found out I preferred a longer battery life and moved to the mvp2. Still simple and easy to use. I am at a happy vaping place right. That is what is important. Many people, like myself, have turned vaping into more of a hobby. I enjoy that aspect of vaping. DIY has been so much fun and honestly, you can save so much money. Good luck to you and happy vaping. :)

I'm looking into upgrading from EGOs to APVs and have asked myself the same question (mostly in beginning)....

Things that are drawing me to APVs now:
removable batteries
variable wattage
better fit with larger 22mm tanks like the Aspire (I just don't like the look on EGO batteries with that giant flared ring. These rings like fine with PT2 IMO, but with the larger tanks I think it looks silly)

I imagine I will still continue to use EGO batteries for going out though, especially if there is a higher risk of losing it (i.e. out drinking)
