So when I first got my blu's I just straight up quit as soon as I started using it, (which is unheard of for me.) Moved on to the 510, and after about a month smoke free, I attempted to leave another habit behind.

In turn, I failed with both and began smoking again. The past week or so, Ive been trying with my 510, but its just not cutting it. I'm afraid that I lost the novelty on this awesome little device, and it seems like a lesser alternative.

"Hey, gimme a cig"
;)"But, you have your ecig"
:-x"Pfft"

I would try higher strenghts (currently at 18mg) but I have about 100ml of assorted 18mg flavors, and no money.

Any advice, besides the screwdriver? (which is mine when I aquire $100)

This is exactley Why I dont tempt fate and have an analog once in a while or at all I believe Im just one hit away from being addicted to cigs again. You dont say what isnt cutting it for you that was before. Was it easy for you before or a battle to keep off the cigs. Anyways I would try snus its about the same price as cigs and keeps me happy.

That's unusual because the story you hear most often is "i tried an analog again for old times sake and it was nasty".

When i transitioned from analogs and wanted to go back i just ordered higher strength nic and tuffed it out until the feeling went away and it worked like a charm.

I eventually leveled out at 24-26mg and have no desire to go back to tobacco.

As far as my leftover 0, 11, and 18mg strength liquids i have laying about some i vape through my new passthrough which makes them seem higher strength and for some others i bought 36mg strength flavors and mix them to add a bit of umph.

I seriously can't imagine going back to analogs at this point.

I don't know what you smoke, but 18mg may be too light for you. I smoked "lights" and 24mg just barely cuts it. I've not moved on to stronger, but not lesser either. I do hope to though. You might try a stronger juice to see if it helps. You can't beat the 510 for throat hit. I do have an L88b and hope to get back to it, in a while.

Well I was analog free for about a month, but i've been smoking again for like 3. I use the ecig on and off, but usually only make it 4 or 5 hours till my roomate, girlfriend, brother, mom, friends, ect. are available to give me a real one. Everyone in my life smokes so it makes it hard. I also have addiction problems and a weak willpower.

I will try the higher strengths, maybe get a big bottle of 36ml tobacco and mix it with the 18's I have.

Throat hit isnt the issue...Its hitting good for me, its just not the same anymore. Especially when I'm drinking. Attys and battys seem to be working good.

Realistically I just need to tough it out, but unlike before its actually a challenge. Its like I'm giving up smoking alltogether. Thanks for the imput. I was looking at mods for a nicostick last night. I know nothing of making things like this, so I'm prolly just gonna go for the screwdriver when I can afford one.

Hi Garrell,
I'm in the same boat, and having a tough time. I had to lay someone off at work, which was rotten, and stressful, and after 6 mos with 0 analogs, I started smoking 1-2-3, then 1/2 pack a day. And I'm right back to coughing again, and hating the way analogs make me feel. I'd smoked 40 years. I know I have to make the switch back. I have been easing back to vaping; and I think one poster here suggested just easing back onto it, and then soon going back to 100% vaping again. That was very encouraging for me; and I hope for you too. But in the mean time, I'm going to try and not beat myself up for slipping. I will go back, you can too! Sending hopeful thoughts your way.

Just as an experiment try using a neti pot for 2-3 weeks-

It will clean up your sinuses and your sense of taste and smell.

I'll bet that after using neti your 18 mg. will be plenty strong enuf and your old cigs will taste really terrible.

Pot costs $15 (you can even use an old pop bottle with a spigot top if you have to) Then your consumables are tap water and non iodized salt. Compared to ecig suplies this is very cheap with incredible results.

Garrell, If I'm reading your posts correctly it sounds as if your PV is functioning fine? If that's so I highly doubt you NEED to get a different mod or higher voltage. Higher nic levels may help but there is another school of thought regarding just what it is that is addictive and what we as users need.

For a quick idea of what I'm saying read through DVaps blogs.

The general idea is that there are alkaloids other than nicotine that we get from smoke. The liquid we vape has NONE of these additional alkaloids hence the not quite satisfied feeling so many folks have from vaping alone.

Again, providing your PV is giving you plenty of vapor, BEFORE you go spending money on a Screwdriver or on mods for higher voltage, take some time and read through the Nicotine and Smokeless Tobacco forums.

There is a growing number of users that are finding the addition of Swedish snus to their vaping is what it takes to completely get off the smokes. You can purchase helluva lot of snus and a bit of higher nic liquid for what a screwdriver would cost.

PM me if ya like, glad to offer suggestions that don't require re-inventing the wheel!

I personally wouldn't keep increasing the mgs of nicotine. Sounds like that thing may have been sitting around a while unused. Is is possible it's just dirty, clogged up a bit so you don't get the flavor off it you used to? My partner has been using his same 510 since he got it - same attys and same batteries. He's replaced the cart. But I tried his, and he cleans his, and I swear it just isn't the same hit as a freshly broken in atty. I couldn't be happy with what he uses. It throws vapor like mad, just doesn't have the right taste to me. I know there are plenty of people that like cleaning them and have complete success too. Just a thought.

Not sure if this will help, but I found what I was missing with analogs was not so much the analogs themselves but the harshness. My worst times were with my morning cup of coffee. What worked for me was not a higher nic juice but something with more PUNCH or burn if you will the sensation of the analog. I mixed a batch of spearment/pepermint and then another bath that tasted suspiciously like an atomic fireball (cinnamon). The burn helped a LOT!.

That being said, maybe if you think about what may be missing it will help replace it. Personally I have been on analogs for about two weeks (bad planning) and could not WAIT to get back to my ecig!
