Hello Everyone!

So, I've had my ecig for just over a week. Today I've noticed a change in the taste... more specifically, I've found that I don't taste my flavors as well. For instance, I'm vaping a peach flavor at the moment. Last week, when I received my ejuice, it tasted really good... Now, it's bland. I almost can't taste any peach unless I pull on it twice in a row.

I might also add that I'm a bit OCD about cleaning things, so I've cleaned my atomizers (I have two) at least twice in the last week (yes, I know I need to stop this). So, I'm wondering if my taste buds are changing, or if I possibly hurt my atomizer and should look at buying a new one(s). How do I know when my atomizer is either broken (due to my lack of experience), or if it's something else?

Anyone else having these issues?

Thanks,
Dana

I don't know the rhyme or reason of it, but it's common for folks to go through tasteless periods (happens to almost everyone eventually). Usually goes away after a few days, but folks will recommend staying hydrated (drink lots of water) and switch up your flavors.

Hang in there :)

I'll give that a try, thank you.

I did switch a couple of hours ago - from berry to peach, but both of them are the same... I have been drinking fluids, and my melon gatorade tastes just as yummy as ever... I'll try the mouth wash now.

Anyone on the atomizer question? How do you know if it's messed up? I'm assuming it doesn't flash a dummy light like my car does saying "check atomizer"...

My allergies killed my taste buds because they killed my sense of smell, for that, I switched to a strong cinnamon flavor to wake things up, worked like a charm, and cleared up my sinuses too!

For the more everyday sort of dulling, I've found that frequently changing the flavor profiles I vape can keep things fresh. I like to alternate between a fruity flavor and a savory flavor, or a spicy flavor followed by a bakery type flavor, or tangy followed by creamy- the contrasts keep things tasting fresher and can compliment each other greatly.

Right after you apply perfume or cologne, you can smell it really well, but within hours, you'll be surprised when someone else comments on it, because you can't smell it all anymore- you're just too used to it. With vapor, what you taste is very dependent on what you smell, so if you get too used to it, you won't be able to taste it as much.

Everyone goes through that. First of all, if you are just quitting analogs, your taste buds are healing so everything tastes funny. Second, sometimes the PG affects the taste buds. Try rinsing your mouth with mouthwash. Also, change you flavors a few times a day. If you keep using the same flavor, your taste buds get so used to it, that you cant taste it anymore.

This is the best advice I've found on keeping the flavors working. I keep 2 clearomizers going at all times. Today it's a watermelon with menthol and a butterscotch. Yesterday it was cappuccino and a peach tea. I always have 2 contrasting flavors. Inevitably, 1 goes dead after a while. The other works and when that goes dead, the first one tastes great again.

Drink lottsa water. Are you shaking your juice before filling your cartridge/ carto? Realize also PG coats the mouth, throat and, if you inhale/ exhale through the nose, the nasal areas. I gargle once per day with fresh squeezed lemon and water to help remove the PG coating. Also try a lozenge as this will stimulate the saliva glands.
Good Luck

From what I recall of a really good lecture a few years back... Zinc has a lot to do with taste and such. Ask your pharmacist for zinc lozenges. This could help. If the zinc tastes sweet, you need it....

Apparently the lozenge is the best way to get zinc absorbed, as pills tend to not work as well.

Actually I'll take my own advice, my flavors all seem flat lately too...I may have to do a write up on the subject...
