Mine calmed down since i got my rda + gpriv 2 combo, next things i'm looking for are gonna be a regulated squonk mod and a new dual coil rta as i build my own stuff (mostly build them into the deck not making the actual coils themselves, those i buy premade claptons).

A squonk mod would be sweet (meanwhile I just learned what that was 3 days ago!)
Lots of maintanence with a squonker mod. Try a dripper atty before spending the $. Those mods are expensive and messy, imo. Prolly get flamed for that one......

It’ll be awhile b4 I get one trust me. I’m still trying to figure out which batteries to order with the Revenger X. Fortunately. MVS at least narrows it down a bit. Otherwise I’d be lost. And yes I’ve read every post article and even watched videos on batteries. Still have no idea lol :w00t:

List of Battery Tests | E-Cigarette Forum

Just scroll down the page to where you see the 18650 batteries(if that's what you are looking for) and then click on the ones you are interested in. He is a great resource. Members at ECF also recommends that you buy batteries from known vapeshops that have proven to have authentic batteries. Like RTD vapor or illumni. There are a few others that are not coming to mind right now.(sry)

Batteries from vendors that sell mostly mods or tanks may not be the best resource for batteries. There are a lot of fake batteries being sold out there and sometimes these vendors don't know if they are fake or not, since its not their primary item to sell.

I have never owned one so I can't really comment, but from what I have seen they are definitely expensive. Which is weird since like the Therion squonk is identical to the regular except it has a cutout for the bottle yet they charge a lot more for it. As to being messy, I have not heard about that, can you elaborate some?

Well, for me it goes back to when I first started vaping so I can't speak directly to the ones on the market today. If you have ever dripped then you can get an idea of what I am talking about.I find that messy and very time consuming. I never could get the right amount of juice in the atty and would often overfill. Apparently there is a trick to be able to use correctly that I just could not master. I tried one of the boxes with a bottle(they were not called squonk then) and at that time only a carto was used to hold the ejuice. The taste would become stale unless you replenished after a couple of drags and they tended to leak like a sieve. I am sure they are much improved today compared to what I had used, but the experience totally turned me off to dripping and those kinds of mods.
Sorry I could not be more descriptive. Maybe someone who has had success with these types of mods will offer their insights.

:)

I'm kinda eyeing the Revenger X as well. I like it for what it doesn't have, no skulls, evil clowns, flashing lights, paste on sequins, fake computer parts, camo paint, ...... Just a simple sleek look that looks like it will fit the hand well. Not sure I'm to hot on the vibrator in it but that can be turned off.

I never found a dripper that I could drip into, if that makes any sense. Leak out or dry hit after two puffs. Now if I use one I pop the top and paint the coils and fill the bottom. Gotta be in the right mood as it is time consuming. Squonking is the best. Fills the thing from the bottom. No mess. With the right RDA I can get a lot of hits from a single squonk.

I know exactly what you're referring to, but squonking and dripping now aren't comparable to 2010 and the few years thereafter. You actually did have to drip a few drops then. Now you can just squirt some juice in, and the risk of flooding is very minimal. I have quite a few RDAs and they don't leak. I don't miss those little 510 atomizers or cartos at all. One extra drop is all it took to be slurpy.

No flame, but a gentle disagreement with this statement.

There is a small amount of maintenance with a squonker (or any mechanical mod and RDA) but nothing that cannot be learned quickly.

As for price: Not sure what you consider "expensive" but you can get an authentic mechanical squonk mod with an RDA for WELL under 50 bucks (less if you buy clones) if you shop well. Even I could find some - and I never find the really good deals.

Most important for someone new to mechanical squonk mods would be battery limitations and safety, and building the RDA safely.

Eh, can't say sqonks are messy unless you over do it. You learn quickly.

Refilling could be a little messy, but refill bottles or patience cures that.

The Geek vape 200 isn't terribly expensive for a dual battery kit. Good reviews from what I've seen.

You'd have to learn to build. Not difficult but it's something to consider. Pre-built coils and some good cotton would set you up. On a regulated it's a bit easier to learn.

Mech side, as mentioned, there are plenty of inexpensive and good kits. I'd recommend them down the road.

I started out with the Revenger and moved on, but I do think the line is a good one. Still have mine tucked away.

As for shinyitis, you have it. Only thing I can offer there is...buy it, buy it now. :)

I could see squonking being messy in the wrong hands (I have the wrong hands). Although I will say there are some squonks arriving on the scene with bottles that look easier to fill than some of the earlier models.

I mainly don't want a squonker because I am pretty satisfied with what I have, and that strikes me as something new that if I loved it, I'd probably want more than one. Also, the value of squonking is really if you like RDAs and I haven't liked the ones I've tried, so even if I don't need to drip, I'm not particularly interested. The regulated squonks are FAIRLY new on the scene, and while some of the mechanical ones look great, I'm not ready for that yet. :) I think I've come fairly far in 6 months as far as RTAs and DIY juice, so I'm pretty satisfied with my journey so far. There's also something I don't quite like about the idea of a bottle of juice in my tank which I can't quite isolate, but I don't like it :)

Maybe this will put you off a bit, Fidolia13, but honestly if not.. enjoy squonking :) LOL.
