I really recommend the OP go see an ENT. I've not heard of tinnitus being associated with sharp pains.
I never worked at an airport, but I went to plenty of the rock concerts, rode motorcycles, flew light airplanes, and shot guns for much of my life. So at 57 years old, it would probably be surprising if I didn't have a bit of tinnitus. I had it before I started vaping, and in fact, switching from a 2 PAD cig habit to vaping seemed to make it better for a while. Right now, I'm not sure it's better, but it certainly isn't any worse. In any case, I'm not concerned about it and it's not something I'm going to purse with via the scam that we call a health care system.
Now if I were the OP, who's only 26 years old and doesn't have a history of exposure to loud noises, yeah I *would* be concerned. But is vaping really the cause? Remember, correlation does not equal causation.
I have no issues above 80VG. I thought it was weird and it bothered me, but nothing like the tooth pain of vaping juice with too much sucralose. I found no need to quit as the problem was solvable.
I mostly vape unflavored now and flavored a couple times a day from a few trusted sources (Adirondak and Keystone).
my ears ring extra louder when I have my morning ciggie.... and they just ring loud the rest of the time...
maybe its the nic and not the VG/PG ??
I found Tinnitus to be a blessing. The ringing in my ears was a welcome relief because it helped drowned out the voices in my head. I would have been ok with the voices if they were telling me I was the reincarnated Genghis Khan or Nikola Tesla but mine were telling me to set up a lawn chair in the dairy isle at Walmart and warn people about the dangers of processed cheese. That's just crazy.
So I should give up riding motorcyles, shooting guns, drinking coffee, and vaping nic?Avoid possible irritants. Reduce your exposure to things that may make your tinnitus worse. Common examples include loud noises, caffeine and nicotine.

Which is why I think it may be the nicotine causing your issue. That seems to be the common denominator whether you're vaping or chewing gum. Here's hoping an ENT can pinpoint it further for!!!So many responses! I already like this forum for the community feedback. In any case, I hope it isn't too late for me ;_;... I plan to see a specialist as soon as my school funds come in (proud Texas Tech college student!). As someone said earlier, yes it worries me, especially with me being only 26 years old. I eat as healthy as I can, and I take in lots of vitamins. I think I notice my meal replacements help with the ringing (has lots of precious vitamins), but that may be coincidental. Like someone else also said, it could be that I am just allergic to something in the juice. I've never been to an ENT before so I suppose I should have them test those sort of things... I've only been to 2 concerts my whole life! And I was all the way back in the lawn seats so it wasn't like blasting my ears. I had a couple ear infections as a child, but always recovered from them. Today I am back on the gum, and I already miss my vape! Yes sometimes I feel sensitivy within my right ear, right ear has always been worse than the left. If I vape a lot, the left ear will start to ring too (which happened yesterday).
I don't really remember if I had it before I started vaping.. so if I did, it must not have been bad. Maybe I always had it but thought it was normal. I've been vaping for 6 years now and it's been in that time I've noticed it. Mine is a high pitched squeal.. but I guess I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me.Now this has me completely curious. Those with tinnitus did you get it only when you started vaping?
The only reason I don't think its nicotine related is because prior to vaping, I was a heavy cigarette smoker and did not have tinnitus. I cut down my nic intake when I started vaping and bam, two weeks later along came the angry T. Thank you. I hope to have some answers as well... :/Which is why I think it may be the nicotine causing your issue. That seems to be the common denominator whether you're vaping or chewing gum. Nicotine isn't absorbed the same way in vaping as it is in smoking. I used to have a link to how they are absorbed but it's on a different computer that wont turn on.The only reason I don't think its nicotine related is because prior to vaping, I was a heavy cigarette smoker and did not have tinnitus.
