So..... Since I received My VK I have reduced my pack/per day analog habit down to about 4 analogs a day. I was hoping to be fully off them by now but unfortunately I'm not.
All in all, things were going pretty well until last night which was my 1st night out to the bar since trying to quit with the VK. What a disaster! i woke up this morning hardly able to breathe from smoking so many analogs last night, BLEH! Not to mention the nasty stench of my hair and everything else.
Does anyone have advice, tips or tricks they used when they were trying to quit analogs? (either in general or in this type of situation) Last weekend I was able to go out and avoid analogs in a social setting but the whole 'bar/drink and cigarette' thing just didnt work this time and i dont know why. Helppppp 8-o

Definately do not beat yourself up about it. Just consider how much less you are smoking now and pat yourself on the back! I was one who it just happened for. I had some packs of cigs left from a carton and planned on just finishing those and not buying more. With 2 plus packs left, I found I didn't even want them and was forcing myself to smoke them! So I gave them away and never looked back! ;) (Took about 2 weeks of vaping plus smoking about 3-4 a day)

I should say, I wasn't able to really "not want" the cigs until I found a flavor that I just fell in love with! Cappuccino! Once I found my sweet spot, the cigs just tasted nasty to me. Find the flavor that really does it for you and make sure you have a lot on hand. If you find yourself wanting a cig, vape instead and remember how much better it is for you. Once you find a flavor(s) that really satisfys you, decide that you will no longer buy cigarettes and stick to it. Finish the pack and be done. Good luck, and if I can do it anyone can! ;)

The next time you go out you will be more used to vaping, that your desire for analogs will be a lot less. The same thing happened to me, I had been vaping for 3 days. My next visit to a bar, I experienced no desire for analogs, just be sure you are getting a good throat hit. A tiny drip of Wilton's Gylcerin (found in the cake decorating supplies of a hobby shop) does the trip for me! Happy vaping! ;)

When I first started vaping, I never dreamed I would be able to quit. I had some cigs along the way for the first month, some days more than others and I got that yuk feeling from smoking, too. Eventually, I was able to give up my final 2 in the morning with coffee cigs and have been smokefree for 24 days today.

I completely agree with everyone who says don't beat yourself up over it. It won't help anything and will just make you feel bad. Just jump back up and start vaping and if you blow it once in a while, oh well. It's so much better than what we were all doing before that there is no reason to feel bad about falling off once in a while.

You've come a long way, Baby! :)

Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom.
And Pugzley I DEFINITELY know what you are talking about with the cigarette and coffee in the morning, thats been where the main trouble/battle in breaking the routine for me. Lol 2 of those 4 analogs i still have to beat are right there in the morning with my coffee.
thanks again everyone! its much appreciated!:)

My husband and I bought a carton of analogs the day before our kits arrived, not realizing they would get here so quickly. We held onto that carton in case the vaping didn't work for us. Day one of vaping, we had no desire to smoke analogs anymore...except we kept seeing that almost full carton of cigarettes sitting on the counter. Something about that old "friend" hanging around made us keep wanting an analog. So we split the cigs up and gave them to our two sons, who were still smoking at the time. With the cigs gone, and not allowing ourselves to buy more, we licked it immediately. We just resolved ourselves to no longer smoke analogs. When our sons came over and saw us vaping, and took a couple hits off our ecigs, they wanted one too. So we bought them each a kit and they no longer smoke either.

It does really help if you find a great flavor. I've tried many brands and flavors. If you like banana, I have not found a banana brand out there that is not yummy! Seems to be a good flavor for the manufacturers to get right! Even the cheaper overseas banana juice is delicious!

It will happen for you, but you might have to help it along by just not buying cigs. As long as you have your ecig on you at all times, as well as extra batts and attys or cartomizers, you will be fine. I have not had a nicotine craving yet that wasn't settled by a few puffs of my ecig, and neither has my husband (once we resolved ourselves to letting go of the analogs).

Think of it this way. If you were an alcolohic, you wouldn't have a Bud in the fridge sitting right next to your O'Douls...right? Not quite the same since we still get our nic from our ecigs...but you see my point.

Good luck to you!

I meet lots of people at bars with my VK. Most people are familiar with vaporizers from smoke shops and whatnot, and can't believe I didn't spend $150 on the thing. I find talking about my Vapor king with people helps avoid analogs for me, as it would be rather hypocritical to have a smoke after handing out Steve's business cards.

Much like a therapist...if you don't pay it won't work. Do you know someone who can tie you to a post in the street and beat you with a whip? Beating yourself up usually isn's as effective. You must be punished though, or you'll do it again.

Ok now that the joking is over with LOL.

I smoked 3.5 packs a day for over 20 years. I picked up the ecig when it came and amazingly had it timed so that i ran out of cigs on the same day. Since that time i smoked two..if you can call it that. One i when i got frustrated with my device (a 901) and tossed it half smoked..and another to see if cigs were as nasty as they smelled now (a good month or two ago) and tossed that one away after the first puff...and that was it.

For me there was no trick. If i wanted a smoke, i vaped. If i wanted it still i vaped more. eventually that was that. I made sure i had my ecig ready to go when i woke up, after a meal, any time i had coffee..all the key triggers that always killed previuos quit smoking attempts. I told myself it was the same thing and after a few mighty drags of 24mg, it was. I did struggle with lower nic, and i still keep some *emergency* 36mg cartomizers around for when im about to kill one of my thug neighbors..but otherwise im good.

I was not one of the folks who bought their ecig and quit the same day. I bought mine and decided it was going to be an alternative and to take it slow. I vaped and smoked pretty equally at first (of course that meant that very early one I had already cut my cigs in half - which is a victory). Then I vaped more but told myself I could have a cig if I really wanted one. There were times I took myself up on the offer and times I didn't. Gradually I needed this "panic button" less and less.

To this day, I still allow myself to smoke if I want to, I just want to very few and far between. If I have an off day and smoke, no worries, the subsequent coughing and smell typically remind me why I vape instead. Each time it gets easier to choose vaping. Now I find that the most effective thing is to vape for a few minutes and then if I still want one, have one. Once I vape a bit, and my nicotine levels are up again, the urge passes.

Don't beat yourself up for not being a "same day" person. Take it at your own pace, find a flavor you love, and enjoy the vaping. The more you enjoy vaping, the less your cigs will appeal to you. So don't fight to quit smoking, instead focus on enjoying vaping. The rest is gravy.
