Ok, I admit it. I will occasionally smoke an analog. Just because I CAN. I just feel that I now have the power over it and can take it or leave it as I wish. Last time I quit I knew that a single cigarette would make me start up full time, and after two years all it took was one and it did. Now I feel in control and if I want I can have one and not crave another.

The high price of analogs now drove me to RYO then to researching e-cigs. :-x

Thanks to this forum and comments from V4L users I ordered the best one to start with! I received my KR808D-1 on 12/12 in late morning. Started using it immediately. That night I did light an analog just to compare and snuffed it out before I was half way thru it. It tasted awful! I have not lit one again since.

Been totally analog free since the day it came in!

Goodness - I still smoke! I'll go through maybe a pack a week...but that's OK with me. I went on vacation in July with a smoker and had gotten back up to 1+ pack a day. It's been snowing here for days, I haven't left my house since Wednesday (Christmas on indefinite hold until I can get out of my driveway!) I have no cigarettes ATM and that's OK, too! The snow has finally stopped, but I'm not freaking out over the fact that I have no cigs and no way to go get any. If you really want to quit, you will.

Dawnfox that is a great improvement. I don't think you have to quit smoking altogether to have had succeeded. From one plus packs a day to one pack a week I would have thought was pretty successful.

I stopped the second day I got my 510. I lit one up, put it out, then did it again to be sure I really didn't want one. Over 90 days now without a cig and I still have 5 packs of cigs at my home!
Some people can quit immediatly and for some it takes a bit longer, i don't know why. I didn't even want to quit smoking, just got an ecig to 'sneak' a 'smoke' at work ;)
Even if you can't or don't want to quit smoking completely, every cig not smoked is an accomplishment!
Oh and my 510 is in a drawer now since I got my VK!:D

:D Thanks, Fair Dinkum. I'm perfectly fine with my status - I might quit, I might not. I haven't really tried to resist buying more right now. I just wanted to add a view from someone who didn't experience the magic potion aspect of starting to use an ecig. If it doesn't happen that way - it's OK! You might have to try a bit harder than some if that's your goal. BUT, I know if that's what I set my mind to, I'll be able to do it this way. I never got this close to not smoking with all of the other methods I tried.

I think that's fine, too. Dare I admit, while ecigs have gotten me off analogues, I doubt they will ever replace a good cigar every now and then. ;)

I never intended to quit smoking, the constantly rising cost of analogs got me to try out e-cigs. My first week I went from 2 packs a day to 3 packs for the whole week. I figured if I can do that, than I can just quit.
I havent had a analog since, 30 days now and counting.

High taxes and anti smoking groups made me feel like I was worthless and had no rights because I smoked.

Dawn, My hubby started vaping when I did, he can't/doesn't want to quit! Believe me we have tried everthing..high nic, low nic, different devices, whatever. So far he likes the VK and cartomizers the best..but....
Next is the patch with o nic cartos. He tried that with Chantix but he didn't like the chantix.
E-Cigarettes are not for everyone..mores the pity. I wish they were magic bullets! I would be overjoyed to have my hubby off analogs..I could syop nic totally then!

 My initial reason for looking into ecigs was the tax increase! I went into sticker shock after buying a carton when that went into effect. Really ticked me off that they were trying to use smokers to pay for things that we got NO benefit from.:mad::mad::mad: No way in &*#@ I was footing the bill... I'm a little stubborn. :p Yes, they still get some of my money but that's my choice.
