hello everybody im kenny,
ive been reading and reading and reading, there is just sooo... much info around here it hurts my brain. ive never vaped but wanted to quit smoking for about five years, ive tried everything minus vaping. i plan on purchasing a bsb or sb from altsmoke it comes with the 510 atty. the cratridges come blank so i need to know where to buy the juice and the nicotine liquid stuff. also, how do i know how much to mix?? it took me a week to figure out what pv to buy and i dont wanna spend another week figuring out what other things i need. if it matters ive been smoking atleast a pack a day marlboro lights. I'm game for something that tastes like that but, im also game for other falvors like coffee or something. when you but the flavors do they come with the nicotine in them?? (i dont think so). thanks in advance and im sure ill have more questions soon.
kenny
oh yeah does the pv come with instructions as far as how much liquid to put in the blank??

hi Kenny,

The cartridges will come with a little bit of white " stuffing" just take that out with some tweezers, drop a few drops in the cartridge, then stuff that stuffing right back in it..and then drop a few drops on top of that stuffing material until it all absorbes in the cartridge..

Also...drop 1 or 2 drops onto the atomizer ( the heating element ) that screws into the battery...that will keep it from burning out, and will keep the burnt flavor out of your first vapes.

As for eliquid...lots of good vendors here to choose from.

You might want to try a few that sell sample packs, or very small bottles of different flavorings to buy. What you think you might love, you sometimes dont.

Everyone has there own tastes as far as eliquids go...and you can order your liquid with nic or without...there will be an option to purchase it with how much nic you want at each place.

I started out with 24mg nic eliquid...and that was fine for me. Some start out at a higher mg...36 mg . I have weaned myself down to around 12mg now. sometimes i use 24 mg when i need a boost.

here are a few vendors you might want to try out :

Tasty Vapor

DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store

Ms Ts Bakery Essentials

Welcome to NHaler!

Lots more to choose from, but these are the few i have off the top of my head.

Good luck..ask questions...Enjoy the Vape

Those listed above you can order the nic already in them. If you want to mix things yourself, Diyflavorshack , www.juicyliquid.com and a few others have the supplies ( unflavored nic juice, flavorings) that you will need.

Hope this helps !

I just saw that you may have ordered cartomizers ? if so, I'll post a link here where you can watch a video on how to fill them.

awsome:) thanks you two. i checked out tasty vapor and the whole percentage thing confused me:( but anyway, ive been looking for the differance between the pg/vg. i know one is derived from veggies. i kinda got nervous when i read that pg can cause a rash or sore throat, but i mean hell.... im not allergic to anologs (or anything for that matter) and i assume anologs are worst right?

No, but it won't take long to get the hang of it. You can tell when it's full, about 6 drops or so.

I will make this easy for you.

Here is a member here that offers free shipping if you spend $14 or so.

You could pick up a couple packs of Cartridges and a few 10ml bottles of juice, I use 24mg. Its already mixed and ready to smoke. They have a Marlborough flavor I like. Get 3 or four flavors.

E-Liquid - Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes!

We have several great sellers that have their own forums here. You can get some Killer deals on things if you read them.

Good Luck

I just saw they have juice where you are getting you mod, so you have choices.

pg does sometimes cause me to have a sore throat....so i usually go for a mixture of pg /vg vg is vegetable glycerine it has a sweeter taste.

I mix my own sometimes..and i use 50% pg / 50 % vg

Ok.. First off.. Pg is used in the tobacco industry during processing to keep the tobacco leaf moist. So, BaldB you have had exposure to PG without your knowledge for a long time but just not at the concentration that vaping will give you. I would suggest that you first get 10 ml bottles ... one in vg base and one in PG base. This way you are covered and if you do have a reaction or dislike about either.. the other should suffice.

If you have a concern for mixing your own at some point.. you can use this easy calculator for such an effort!!!

eJuice Recipe Calculator

It is pretty much self explanatory.

Just to kick off a recipe for you for example:

I love peach cobbler and combined it with a cherry jubilee recipe to match the ingredients.

First, I would like to explain that if you use a water based flavoring- nothing extra needs to be done. But, if you use an oil based flavoring, you will need to emulsify it with an alcohol to make sure that it can be absorbed into the fill properly and burn off without creating build-up on your atties.. eventually killing an atties life span.

Ok.. here we go-
Cinnamon Flavoring(oil based is what I use) .. 3 drops per 10 mls total volume.( basically every 10mls overall that I plan to make.. I use 3 drops)
I begin by adding 3 drops of peach brandy and 2 drops of absynthe or vodka to the cinnamon and shaking vigorously. I let that sit for ten minutes to make sure it emulsifies to its furthest extent.
Next, I add 1.2 ml of peach flavoring(water based) and shake again, just to mix equally.
Then, 5 mls of flavorless vg base nic juice and finally, 3.4 mls of USP food Grade VG glycerin. Shake well, add to a fresh cart and enjoy the 10 mls of Flaming Peach Brandy!!!

Happy Vaping ,
Tom:thumbs:

Blank carts have the stuffing for you to add the juice but no juice. If they don't say they're filled, they're not.

Pre-filled carts are more expensive than blanks, you get a bigger variety of flavors and adding the juice is very, very easy.

You can get blank carts that fit your PV from anyone who sells that model. And you can get juice from most of the suppliers in that section of the forum. It's usually more cost-efficient to buy as much as you can from one place because many/most suppliers have "free shipping for orders over $xx."

Welcome! The Wonderful World of Vaping is a fantastic reference. Be sure to bookmark it... you will probably return to it often in your early days of vaping.

I recommend that most people start with 24 mg liquid. Be prepared to order more after a couple of days in case you decide it is a bit strong or a bit weak. Or you might want to buy 6 ml to 10 ml bottles of a couple of strengths from the beginning.

I think the coffee and cappaccino flavors work very well. Even it they turn out not to be your favorites they generally are something that people can vape all day.

You might want to get a package of prefilled carts so that you can actually see how full they should be. Get a flavor that you think might satisfy you.

As you figure this out you will find that occassionally you make purchases that just don't work out for you. Don't worry about it. You will be saving so much money and feeling so much better that a little bit lost while learning is not a big price to pay.

Enjoy your journey!

:)

Definitely read the Wonderful World of Vaping guide j0ker linked to. Should answer a lot of questions.

Saturate the blank cartridge filler with enough juice that it is fully wet but doesn't pool, then drip 1-2 drops onto the atomizer. Takes a little trial and error. If you get a burnt flavor, either give the juice more time to wick down to the atomizer, or give it more juice if the filler is drying out. The plastic cartridges, of course, last forever, so you really only need to buy more juice (and more filler, once it gets yucky or ever burnt at all...you really don't want to vape through burnt or melted polyfill).

Others have found alternative fillers to the polyfill (which all cartridges come with) that seem to perform better, check out "Cartridge Mods" for ideas.

You can buy filled cartridges but the flavors are limited and only factory liquid, and it'll cost you more to boot. Buy blanks and fill with some of the delicious juices WhatAClumsyGirl linked to. :)

TastyVapor is awesome but he's temporarily out of tobacco. My personal favorite blend from him is 35% VG. (His coffee flavors are true coffee, which I love.)
Try some of Nhaler's tobacco flavors in sample sizes, too, they're well-liked.

PG has more flavor, VG has more vapor, as a general rule. Intolerances to PG are rare. For most people I'd say a blend is great. (Both PG and VG are drying, though, so stay hydrated.)

YMMV, etc. and welcome :)

ok so i couldnt wait to get home to ask more questions.... shhh.... dont tell the boss:)

Is one so called better for you than the other reguarding pg/vg?

I know that the mod i plan on buying comes with 5x510 atomizers and i see lots of other sites selling 510 atomizers, can i buy them from another supplier? will they fit? or is it pretty much stick with where you buy your mod from?

Does anyone know (roughly) what marlboro lights nicotine contents are, so i can estimate a better juice/nicotine content?

Ive read tons on the sb i plan on buying but wanted to know what you guys think?? ( my first).

Does the vapor burn if it gets in your eyes like cig smoke? (i would guess not)

Hello again Kenny!

510 is a standard model reference number. All "510" atomizers will be compatible with the 510 thread on your PV. So you can buy extra atomizers wherever you'd like.
(Note: Not all 510s come from the same place, though. The original 510s are made by Joye [hence you'll often hear it called the Joye510 here or on vendor websites] and reviews are mixed at best on the knockoffs made by other companies. Vendors with a presence on this forum are generally very good about specifying that their 510 parts are Joye.)

I think the bottom line is that PG and VG are both way better than burning tobacco. ;)
A very small percentage of people are sensitive to PG (reactions ranging from irritation to allergies, etc.).
But, keep in mind that as you quit smoking, you might just get random annoying symptoms and aches from general tobacco withdrawal, so some stuff isn't due to starting vaping...it's because you've just given your body a sudden and dramatic reprieve.

Nope, the vapor doesn't burn your eyes. :D It can smell up a room if you're vaping a lot of flavorful juice, but that can be a downright pleasant thing. :: takes a whiff of butterfinger-aroma room around her :: It doesn't linger on clothes, furniture, car upholstery, etc. like smoke. Fantastic, huh?

I'll leave input on the SB to those who actually own one.
