question..if de-wicking and de-bridging is so popular with modders, why dont they already come de-wicked and de-bridged?

Some are actually becoming manufactured like this, without a wick or a bridge.

The reason they're there, is for cartridge use. You need that bridge and the wick to reach out for the liquid in a standard cartridge (which I am sure most of us have tried one time in our vaping career, probably in the beginning ;) ).

As this is no longer the norm, and most people enjoy direct dripping, or cartomizers, or whatever else, manufacturers are noticing and are adjusting to please the mainstream of vapers :) Supply and demand. One day, the atomizer with a bridge and wick will become the rarity. But, as long as there are still cartridges and people still use them, they'll still make bridged and wicked attys.

p.s. to the OP, that's not messing up... I dewicked/debridged an atty last night and I pulled the coil out of the ceremic cup! That's messing up :D

Done that

I pushed the loose end of the coil with a toothpick while firing, until it activated. Mucked it up with some VG (acts as an adhesive) and it's been working for over a week lol
