Dude attys are $7. Last time I was in NYC a pack of smokes was like $10, you've already saved your money buying an atty. Get some from Madvapes, they're east coast and ship fast. Sell something on craigslist. You're going to have to spend money to rebuild it anyways (you'll need nichome wire from a hobby shop IIRC), so buy a couple attys.

Bad news and more bad news! But good news too!

Attys will die. It's a fact of life. LR's will die sooner because they run hotter. Their longevity is a factor of so many things: build quality, type of juice, voltage, maintenence (cleaning), how hard you vape. There are people out there who claim that they get months out of an atty; others get only days.

You could try rebuilding them, but you do need some mechanical skills, tools, and patience. There is a excellant thread on ECF that takes you step by step.

More bad news: IMHO if you rely on only one atty, you are asking for trouble. Vaping does not have the simplicity of running to the next convenience store to buy a pack; it does not even have the simplicity of rolling your own.

The good news is that you are not using analoges.

If the atty is "dying" because the resistance of the coil is changing (degrading) there is nothing that you can do, short of taking it apart and making a new coil.

If it is "dying" because the coil is getting "crudded up", then a cleaning might bring it back. Personally, I don't have much luck with the soaking methods.... I usually have to resort to a dry-burn.

The simplest thing you can do is blow it out into a paper towel. I recommend blowing from the battery end. If that fixes it, leave it alone.
If that doesn't work, let soak in alcohol for 10-20 minutes, rinse out with water, soak in hot, not boiling water, for 10-20 minutes, rinse well and blow out and let sit overnight to dry. Put several drops in atty to reprime because it will be dry. Good luck and get you a couple atty's as soon as possible.

Lat time I was there analogs were $14+ in the city.
You cannot have only one atty to vape with seriously dude, and I have to agree with this poster that even if you just started { looks like Sept.} vaping you saved a bundle already by not smoking.
Buy some atty's please.
Puresmoker offers 25 for about $125 which is incredibly cheap imo plus free shipping!
Good luck with your atty, mine typically last for months and I just blow them out, on occasion I run some water through them if I have too many tastes coming through.

Could not agree more with Cigarbabe!

One atty is a disaster looking for a place to happen. Thanks for the tip on Puresmoker. At $5 for a quantity discount, it would pay to order from the US rather than China for genuine joy atomizers: they seem to last forever. I got a batch from GH1 and they burn out within a few days, although they claim that they will replace them. Let's see.

Got the Icon from Puresmoker for going out in public to replace my egos which had been failing at a prodigious rate. It's a nice, simple and elegant mechanical unit. At home or in the office, I use a Screwdriver, DSE 905, a Buzz, and an Indulgence. I am anxiously awaiting my ProVari.

Tony

PS: been analog free since April 20 of 2010 after 30 years of 1.5 packs a day of Marlboro Red
