I need a better brand!

Hello fellow vaporheads,

I'm new to e-cigs (just a couple of weeks), and I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on a better brand than what I bought in 7-11. I got an njoy NPRO, and the first couple of days the battery lasted about a day, then it quickly deteriorated to needing to be charge 2-3 times/day. The first cartridge lasted 3 days, now it's usually about one. (I'd only been smoking a half pack/day before I got it--a cartridge/day at 4 bucks a pop is a bit more than I'd like to spend here, but I certainly wouldn't mind spending more for better batteries and a better product in general).

Any help?

Thanks!

Personally, I'd try a Riva or Ego 510 kit from Liberty Flights. The kit comes with everything you need to get started and you can order some cartomizers or a drip tip if you need it. It's a manual battery and doesn't look like a real cigarette but it gets the job done and gets it done well. Liberty Flights is an AWESOME company! They ship super quick and their customer service is top notch.

Welcome to the forum! An eGo/Riva is one of the best deals around and will give you the battery life you're looking for at a very reasonable price. Liberty-flights has a great deal on the Riva. Be sure to click the 20% off button in the upper left. For a little more, you might want to try an eGo-T kit like this one at Unsmoke.

I think a nice option for you would probably be the kr808d-1. It's a two piece system (battery + cartomizer). It's one of the smaller sized e-cigs but the batteries will last about 4 hours of medium usage. The unit itself can be had for $35-$65 dollars (or more) depending on how many bells and whistles you want and the extra cartomizers are about $10 for a 5 pack, each cartomizers will last way longer than the npro cartridge.

Two popular sites to buy them are vapor4life and litecigusa.

Good luck!

Pick up some boge cartomizers from Liberty flights as well. I would also hit the Kick Bass Vapor thread and check out their menu of juices. Great prices, phenominal service and super tasty juice. My personal favorits is OMG, caramel cappuccino and fiddle paddle (tastes just like the candy popcorn)

I also would pick up a couple extra attys, and pick up a LR306 atty for dripping, and a 306 drip tip to go with it.

Welcome to the Forum,
I agree with all the advice you've received here.

This is the equipment you will need:

minimum of two batteries
Atomizer or cartomizer
cartridges
possible drip tip
Juice

Things to look at in the very near future:
at least one back up battery
a back up charger
a small stash of e-juice
couple extra atomizers or cartridges
a drip tip

Highly recommend the Riva 510 kit for $30 from Liberty Flights. The kit has a lot in it and your entire order ships Priority Mail for just $2.99.

Keep in mind your taste buds are changing. Try to order small bottles or sample sizes of different types of juice until you find out what you like & do not like.

Happy Vaping,
Paula

I'm by no means an expert but am on my second brand forget the name of the first it was one of those cartridge things colossal pain in a** . Been on the ego t for 3weeks not one analog since . It's very simple easy to fill easy to clean with hot water or my preference alcohol . Just be careful not to run dry or overdo it on the pull so as not to burn. If you do just give real good clean and prime wick b4 restarting

I started with the 7-11 nJoy as well and fairly quickly figured out what I didn't like about it.

The battery life was just too short for me. I could have my second batt charged before I killed my first, but I'm not always around a power outlet.

18mg of nic was not enough for me. I did get some juices and refilled for a while though.

I decided cartos are not for me. I love those first few hits off a fresh carto, but the flavor and vapor seem to drop off fairly steadily for me. And I was spending more time than I wanted refilling. I could fill enough in the morning to last me all day but it was just too much PITA for me.

Bottom line, I wanted to spend less time dealing with juices, batts and cartos, more time vaping.

I went with an eGo model, currently using the MEGA attys (type B cylinders) which I'm happy with so far after a week. That's longer than any of the other atties/cartos I've tried.

What I've tried that I didn't like:

510 atties : Carts just don't hold enough juice for me. Tried dripping with them and couldn't find that sweet spot between dry hits and flooding.

2.4 ohm XL Clearomizers : too hot for my taste, too fragile. You can vape on one for a good while tho.

eGo Tank atty : Fantasic out of the box. Pretty much useless after a week. I think the wick got dislodged. One or two fair hits and the completely flooded. I pulled the needle plate and the coil is so gunked up I haven't found anything that'll touch it. Not vinegar, not alcohol, not even a dry burn. Yeah I did vape some dark juices through it, but this is not the low maintenence solution I was looking for.

eGo MEGA carto: Same issues as the nJoy - love it when it's fresh, drops off pretty quickly. Not for me.

So far, I like my MEGA atties. Low maintenence; need to be blown out occasionally. Hold LOTS of juice and I can get about half of it vaped before hits start to get a little dry. No real flooding/leaking issues yet but I am using 100 % VG juice right now.

Keep in mind, I've tried to tell you what is right for ME but I hope I've stated it in a way that'll help you make your own decision. IMHO, the is no perfect PV, you just need to find the one that's right for you. Some people love cartos. Some love the tank. That doesn't mean you will or won't. I love the eGo because there are so many different options to try with it. Good luck in your search for YOUR perfect PV.

Hubby and I bought the joye 510 around a week and a half ago, so far so good..Batteries are starting to hold less of a charge tho it seems, need to go back on the charger a little more often then they did at first. I ordered myself an Tornado from totally wicked (its PINK!!!) after i accidently pulled the wick out of my joye's atty. Thought it was a bit of fluff and attacked it with the tweezers OPPS! Debridged it tho and use it for dripping now which works pretty well. I'm hoping the tornado gives better vapor production then the joye 510, eh but even if it doesnt....ITS PINK!!

Joye 510 came from myvaporstore . com, fast delivery, not the best juices tho.

I tried V2 first but quickly found out that i could never get rid of the burnt cotton taste from a cart. It might just be me, but that was what I seemed to taste. And I could never get the flavor from a cart that I wanted. I like lots of flavor. If I could smoke an apple, I would so do it. :)

I sent that one back and got an Ego Tank from Cignot. I LOVE my ego T. I have flooded the atty a couple times, but I just take the tank out and blow out the atty and its good to go. I just ordered a drip tip for it and a regular atomizer (not the tank), so we will see how that goes. If you would happen to get an ego T, just be sure to blow all of the primer out of the atty before you use it. I made the mistake of not blowing one of my attys out really well - and let me tell you - that primer is nasty! And vaping it off seemed to take forever!

With the tank I do have to refill it once or twice a day, but I don't mind because it lets me change the flavors up if I want to. Plus all you need to buy is the liquids - it comes with 5 tanks that you can refill many times.

The battery on mine lasts all day long. I have been using it hard core for about a week now, and so far so good. Its nice b/c I don't have to worry about charging while I am at work or out and about. And I just got a regular battery - you can get a bigger battery that will last longer.

Happy hunting for your new e-cig!! i hope you find something you love!

I recommend all new vapors to Vapor4Life, without question. Ease of use, excellent customer service, affordable, large selection of flavors, quick shipping, money saving specials, and the KR808D-1 unit is the most similar in feel to an analog.

Like all new vapers, once you are covered for daily vaping then you can take your time looking at what kind of device you want to graduate to. I've had quite a few wet boxes, a Buzz, a GLV, and I am finally happy with a Pro-Vari. Yet I still use my KR808's all the time. There isn't "the best" as many folks will tout, it all comes down to what works for you. Because there is such a large learning curve I like to keep it simple for new Vapers just to ensure they get over that first month or "the hump".

I just bought the Ego, With the 20% discount it was less than $40 for the starter kit. The ecig I have took a crap in less than a week. How long normally will it take before the kit gets to me do you all think? Gonna have to buy the portable ones until it gets here, I really don't wanna smoke an analog. I'm so fresh without them I am going to need somethign. SOON!!
