So tonight my mother was rushed to the hospital ER because she couldn't breathe. Long story cut drastically short... she has been admitted to the hospital because she has COPD. We all know what it is and what it does... but I'm hoping that you guys can keep her in your thoughts for both coping with this and also her new journey to stop smoking. She was a smoker for most of her life, and is 65... so I would estimate around 40 years or so of smoking.

So torn right now... ugh.

On a more serious note...

I believe you still have the odd one (correct me if I am wrong) As you know we vapers to not condemn smokers who still light up, as every cigarette avoided is a good cigarette. OTOH you know that I am a proponent that every cig you light up resets that darn 10-12 week clock towards total abstinence.

I further believe it is high time you start dealing with your own personal addiction (I know you are and have been struggling). I say this out of love and honesty without any prejudice or malice. I firmly believe that you could be a great source of inspiration for your mom in helping her achieve a healthier lifestyle. If I am totally out to lunch here, please accept my strongest apology. My heart is in the right place.

I ordered a bunch of stuff over the last day or so which should be here ... soon ... was able to score an Innokin iTaste MVP which I believe might be too much for her to start on but who knows, maybe not. But either way, I figured since that one is getting awesome reviews I would start there... and now I need to get some juice for her to try. She smokes Marb Reds explicitly. So who knows. Need to get her home first. Doc now says he wants her in the hospital until at least Monday... ugh

Ikenvape Tobacco Gold is the closest to actual stinkies I've ever tried. I have a touch of that COPD myself. I hope and pray everything turns out good for you both Loft.

You may not know me but we are "family" here at ECF and I send my prayers to you and your Mom.Never give up;I smoked 2 ppd over 40 years and quit over 3 years ago.My kids thought I never would but I did and many others have also. May God bless......

Yeah she smokes about 1ppd; and has refused any kind of NRT products while in the hospital. She hasn't had a cigarette since the night she collapsed on 11/26 -- maybe she won't even smoke by the time she gets out? I can only hope...

... we can only hope. maybe she got the scare she needed to kick it. It is sad at times that things have to come to this to smarten us up. Hang in there buddy.

The last time I went to see my Otolaryngologist he said "So you quit smoking huh?" I ask him why and he told me my throat and bronchial tubes showed it. He was surprised when I told him what I'm using now. I do hope she gets away from smoking and gets well soon.
