Wow, huge thanks for all the fast responses. The vv mods are more what I was looking for. Do they live up to the hype though?

They really do live up to the hype. It is amazing at how much difference the voltage that you use makes in flavor of the juice, TH and vapor. Each juice, carto, atty is usually best at different voltages so with VV you can adjust to whatever voltage is best suited for what you are vaping and vaping with.

This is something I didn't consider. I have only used the 510s. With max throat hit in mind, should I use a different atty with my mod?

Edit: I'm more and more leaning towards the Buzz. For all the buzz users; do you think it would be worth waiting on the Infinity?

Welcome to NotCigs
I got mine in two days. An hour or so after I placed the order Teri called me up to make sure that everything was correct with my order and it was mailed out immediately. I've been chatting at the NotCigs forum since then and have the utmost confidence in this company.

BTW. I'm vaping Cafe Mocha from Vaporbomb at 4.5 volts right now and it is complimenting my coffee nicely. I didn't care for this juice before I got a VVPV.

I am mostly interested in good throat hit. I direct drip on a bridgeless atty. Battery life is a plus, but not if I have to sacrifice throat hit. A mod that looks cool is nice, but that is the least of my concern. I am willing to spend up to $150 on a new kit.

Battery life, the ability to do high voltage (perhaps variable for more flexibility) and aesthetics are your main concerns with a mod.

Performance? All things being equal a 3.7v device vapes like a 3.7v device, a 5v device vapes like a 5v device, etc.

The website is not very informative. How do you change the voltage on the Buzz?

Ah, that ProVari looks awesome! I didn't see anything about it working with a passthrough though. I suppose I should've mentioned that is a big deal for me. Ultimately, the Darwin is my dream mod, I just have no clue when it will be available.

I suppose for now I will hold off for the infinity unless the Darwin makers post a date soon. That is one mod I would definately be leniant on my price range for :)

It comes with a little screwdriver (actually, an eyeglass repair kit). There's an adjustment screw on the side. I thought this would be a drawback but I change it so infrequently it's really no big deal. The ProVari has a button you push to change the voltage but it only goes in one direction so if you want to turn it down you have to go all the way up and back around. The Infinity which is coming out in a few weeks has a thumb wheel but Buzzkill says it will only change the voltage in like half volt increments. The Buzz can be tuned much more finely. I'd like to get an infinity though. They're nice looking and pretty small. Almost eGo sized.

Actually on the Provari there's an option to change the power up, or power down, you don't have to cycle through all the way up to get back to lower voltages..

Throat Hit is priority one for me. In my experience, this is achieved by combining the right liquid with the right voltage. After much trial and error, I have found that a cartomizer loaded with Halo's "Torque 56" in a 6v Chuck delivers a TH that kicks like a mule. The Chuck will run you about $80.00. Add the batteries, a charger and some carto's and you're at about $130.00. The Chuck is a solid, American made tubular style unit with a strong and loyal following. The button is the soft spot though, if you drop it just right, it will break, but that can apply to just about anything. You can send it in to be repaired and get it back within a week. Treat it like you would your iPhone and you'll be fine. Depending on what batteries you use, it can be a 3.7v, 6v, or 7.4v device which makes it very versatile. I just ordered a second one as a back-up. I can't imagine a day without my beloved Chuck!!
