You have come to the right place. Read some of these threads;

E-Cigarette Success Stories

I smoked for 45 years and tried everything to quit. A regular Joye 510 with cartridges got me to quit the first day. Well, I did have four left in the pack that I finished, but not a single one since 6 March this year and no urge to smoke.

A few suppliers on your side of the pond, so jump in there. Try to get something with a battery 450 mAH or better. That way you can try the low resistance cartomizers later on. Good luck and do a bunch of reading.

The other (more knowledgable) members of this forum will give you good advice on what e-cig is best. The advice I have is to take the plunge sooner than later. I started with an e-cig that is not the best. But the day I got it was the last day I smoked real cigarettes - after 35+ years of more than a pack a day.

Even though I did not start with the best model of e-cig, my only regret is that I did not start earlier. After almost 5 months of no cigarettes, I have saved $$ (even after buying some different models). And I am so happy that I don't smoke anymore.

Yeap, it's time to make the switch! I smoked over 20 a day royals / malboro reds for over 16years and have been death stick free for over a month since switching to ecigs.

Main bit of advise I would give you is try not to be too seduced by the cigarette look a like small ecigs too much, instead, maybe start with a cigarette(ish) pen style and see how you get on? Personally I really like my 510 Titan, but shop around, there's lots that might suit your needs and budget. The super minis that look like real cigs and seem "easy to use" with charging pcc's and flavour carts seem a great idea at first (and sure they sortof are) but trust me here, if your used to 20 a day smoking strong analogues, they won't keep up with your nicotine habit long enough. Maybe a week or so but then you'll startto get issues with batterylife, cart size and constantly charging/changing stuff over... Do yourself a favour and go straight to a pen style or above.

Battery charge - 100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping

Good starters in order of battery life

Joye 510 w/ manual batteries 180mah
Joye 510 w/ mega xl manual batteries 280mah but is 128mm long w/ a cartomizer
KR808D-1 w/ standard manual battery 280mah 2-piece model - 120mm long w/ a cartomizer
Joye Ego or Riva 510 - fat battery 510-threaded model w/ 650mah and higher batteries

Those are the most popular models in the US. You could look at liberty-flights.co.uk and ivapour.co.uk

I use all of them with cartomizers. 510 models ship with atomizer and cartridges (or tank atomizer and tanks) but many prefer cartomizers, disposable combined atomizer (heating/vaporizing element) and cartridge = cart-omizer. If used with thin juices and kept damp, a good cartomizer like Boge was work well for a week or more.

All of these models need eliquid and lots of it. If you can get the ingredients (nicotine, pg, vg, pro flavorings like Flavourart) you can make your own eliquids too.
