Thanks Cloudcat. I have the kona in my basket there, just wanted to see if I made the right choice. I do like my coffee strong

I have never ordered from PA, so there may be some differences in this, but...

I also am a coffee vaper fan and the Kona is by far the stronger of the three.
Coffee flavor (or coffee bean) is a real good second place.
The cappuccino is just a sweet, almost creamy light coffee.

I have both the Kona and regular coffee but I've only tried the kona. I, too, like my coffee black, which is why I didnt order the cappuccino. As hoosier mentioned, the kona flavor is very strong. I mixed one drop with 1ml base and the flavor comes through pretty well.

I think I'm 50/50 on this one. The taste starts like a dark roasted coffee, very close to a burnt taste even, and as it fades you can taste the coffee undertones. Sometimes it tastes too burny for me, and sometimes it just tastes awesome. If you are debating between the two, I'd say just get both and try em for an extra buck fifty.

TPA's Kona is STRONG!!!

If you can make a mix with it and like it, let me know. I have a bottle of it that I will not be touching again anytime in the near future.

I got 1 oz of the kona and made a sample with about 10% and tasted like Skunk juice,, Aweful. I put way too much in it. Have been scared to try it again.. LOL

My sister keeps telling me to make her coffee juice stronger! So I got the Kona and mixed a batch at 10% and got to laugh when she tried it. (Then had to show her how to clear a flavor out of an atty.)

Next time I put 0.02ml in 5ml of PG, which is about 0.4% and she still gagged and told me it was too strong. It was worth buying the bottle just to see her face.

She is enjoying TPA's Coffee at 15% with a drop of Toasted Almond from Cap now. And it smells like fresh ground coffee beans to me. (I like the smell, but hate the taste of coffee.)

I too tried the PA Kona and I too got way too much in it evidently as I didn't like it at all. I tried the Coffee and again got too much in it. I'm a 8-9 cup a day coffee drinker myself so I'll continue to try to get them right.

Hoosier's comments gives me a better starting point though. I have the cappuccino but haven't tried it yet until I get some PA Chocolate and the English Toffee. For my coffee I used the Cafe Mocha recipe that Ast_Isis put on the recipe thread. The PA Milk Chocolate I used doesn't seem to be strong enough for a coffee recipe. I'm sure it's good for use in lighter flavored recipes though. Ast_Isis used Double Chocolate so that's where I'm missing the mark I think. I just need a stronger flavor choclote. That and I have to tone down the amount of coffee flavor a little.

I'm anxious to order another round of Linda's stuff that will be available tomorrow.

I mixed up some Bananna Cream with a drop of French Vanilla in 3ml, 10% flavor and it's rockin :)

:)

I think I got the coffee right now. I just mixed it a couple hours ago but it seems good. I reworked the whole recipe from my previous post. It's not so strong this time. In the previous recipe I had used PA's Cotton Candy but this time I went with her sweenter instead. The Cotton Candy is much sweeter. I'd have used PA's Chocolate but I havn't ordered it yet. I think that would give it better flavor.

Dan's calculator numbers:

All are Perfumer's Apprentice flavors at 10% flavor

25% Coffee
32% Bavarian Cream
23% Milk Chocolate
20% Sweentner

:)

EDIT:

Nope, still not right. The coffee flavor is still too strong and it needs more sweenter. Dratz!

I might drop the coffee level and go back to using Cotton Candy for sweetner.

:p

FYI

Linda has discontinued the Kona coffee but now has Mexican Coffee available for sampling.

I was planning on placing a big order tomorrow anyway so that may help my coffee quest.
:)

Yikes!

I asked to sample the Mexican Coffee and Linda mailed me back and said that it was a mistake to put that up on the site. The Mexican is actually Kahlua and is available for sample.

Sorry guys!
