OK, my test samples were ordered this morning and I made a doctor appointment for next week.
Not that I'm that worried about it, but its been a year since my last appointment and I've got a condition from a mountain biking accident that won't go away (its been 2 months now). Just so happens to be a pain I get when breathing in real deep. NOT associated with vaping. This happened way before I'd evan heard of vaping. When it 1st happened I thought I had cracked a rib. Who knows maybe my rib is cracked.

I'll post back up when I get any updates.

Thanks everybody.

Great move going to the doc, especially with a prior untreated chest injury. There are so many things it could be, from a badly healed or unhealed rib break to infection following the injury to just plain nerve spasm, and so much more.

Hopefully it's nothing major, even aside from vaping there's a quality of life thing there what with the deep breathing pain that'd be best diagnosed and sorted. Good luck. x

I've been vaping now for 2 weeks.
I noticed some congestion with my starter pack of blu's. After posting here about it and hearing about a lot of problems with PG, I find out the blu's are all VG e-liquid. Ok, maybe I'm intolerant to VG.
The congestion wasn't real bad, it was just disappointment that something was supposed to be better than smokes, was causing this.
This last Saturday I go to a local shop and pick up an Ego device with a ce-4.
They gave me some sample liquids (60/40 pg-vg) and I bought 2 others just to try.
I bought 1 with 9mg of nicotine (the lowest they had)to see how it would do, the others were 18mg.
I was in heaven at 1st.
The coffee flavor with the heavy vape that my new toy was giving off was great.
But over the last few days the congestion has gotten worst, yesterday it was getting hard to take deep breaths.

I haven't used it since yesterday and am starting to feel normal.
I know they say that when you quit smokes, your body tries to clean itself out but that's not my case.
I've smoked only 3 cigarettes a day for the past 5 years, my smokers cough long disappeared. I chew the hell outta nicotine gum so I thought I could handle an 18 mg strength easily. Maybe not.

Ok where I need help/ my questions.
I'm ready to try a few other opitons for liquids before I give away my devices to my daughters boyfriend.
-#1 go to a liquid with a 0 nicotine and see how that goes.
-#2 try out an all PG liquid. Do they make such a thing and where would be the best place to find it?
-#3 , there is no #3. That's all the ideas I have. That's were you experts come in and let me know of any options I don't know about. Are there other blends I don't know about? I glanced over something about "WTA" extracts? Whats that all about?

I noticed also, some of the sites I've visited don't readily list the composition of their liquids. Is there a site that is better than other for purchasing liquids?

Thanks all for your suggestions.

It most likely is the vg. When I vape juice with vg, I get a deep cough and wheezing! If I stick to 100% pg, I am fine. I am thinking this is because vg is such a strong humectant. My lungs can't take the extra fluid.

Anything is possible here. Not many of us are doctors or we'd have a whole slew of evidence to throw at the FDA :) That being said there is just a boatload of sinus infections and congestion running rampant in the midwest right now. I had it two weeks ago. Sucked to high heaven. Good luck at the MD.

Yes, I agree seeing a Doctor is number 1. However, being a medical professional myself and a long-time vaper, I have found a correlation between high vg juices and deep cough and wheezing. PG tends to be more drying, which is good in the case of individuals that have a predisposition to lung and airway congestion due to excess mucus and fluid retention in these tissues.

As a nurse my thoughts are that congestion has more to do with cigarettes than vaping. You were filling your lungs with tar & carcinogens daily, I'm thinking vaping may even help loosen this. You have to get all gunk out. I have always heard that if you stop smoking you will be coughing for a few months, I have even heard of people getting pneumonia from quitting smoking, no one that vapes though. Those are just my thoughts tho. Could be pg is going to dry your throat more too, so I would think it causes a cough verses vg.
