I had the same challenges as you. I just started looking at almost everything on ECF for:newbies, e-liquid forums and I also went to some of the suppliers and read reviews left by previous customers. Hours and hours went into my "research"! I wound up placing my 2nd order (my 1st was at a store in my city for an overpriced 808 and cartomizers-Hey, we all live and learn, right?) with Altsmoke.com for a 501 and e-liquids.

I currently use cartomizers and a passthru (for in the car charging and while at the computer). I chose that company because I liked their prices and they took the time to explain lots to me.

I've since been trying other suppliers for liquids (americaneliquid) and will be trying some others that I've seen highly recommended by other ECF users.

I tend to give more credence to veteran members since they've been at it for a considerable amount of time.

I don't even THINK about analogues-that's how pleased I am with my decision to vape!

Now THAT is a GREAT idea!!! What we could do to really help the plethra of noobs certain to start vaping this year is to put together a quiz that goes somewhere along the lines of:

In searching for your ideal PV:

1) What is your preferrence on size?
a) analog short
b) analog long (100)
c) #2 pencil
d) brick
e) Size doesn't matter
f) Any of the above

Y'know! If this could be done in a radio button style 'exam' - at the end, we could have a recommendation and state vendors known to be reputable ... could help.

yea more choices would be great on that quiz, as I (super-noob) was in between on many of them

I'll recommend the Volcano Inferno. I have been vaping about 2 weeks, and started out with a SmokeStik, which is a nice little gaget. However, I soon found that cleaning and refilling the cartomizers was difficult and the cartomizers expensive. I also decided I wanted a manual, to give me more control over my vaping. I am delighted with my Inferno. The cartos are a little difficult to fill (it takes steady hands), but are easy to see whether they are full or empty, and are much cheaper than the Smokestik cartos.

Hi bumpi and welcome to ECF. Since you have ordered several sample size juices I'd recomend dripping to start. If you're like me I wanted to try them all to see which I liked. Using carts to do this is a pain. Some of the strong flavors hang on forever in a cart. If you have some plain VG or PG you can drip some of that inbetween flavors to clear the atty of the last flavor. Good luck and have fun.

I'll second this. A drip is the best way to try those different flavors.

I hadn't heard of dripping VG or PG in between flavors to clear the atty. Great tip. Thanks

You need at least 2 batteries, otherwise you'll be without anything to vape until your lone battery charges.

VERY important. I've been vaping just a couple of weeks now, and can't agree more strongly... Seeing that flashing tip on your only battery produces the exact same panic as realizing you just finished your last analog without realizing it.

Worse: You can't run down to the corner store and get another battery. If you are going to get a "stick" model, get at least 3 batteries. Battery capacity was one reason I bought an Inferno instead of sticking with my Smoke Stik . . . the SmokeStik couldn't handle a day away from home (even with two batteries) without a recharge.

been vaping and loving it...i thought i loved analogs, but this is even better. I want to get some 0 nicotine juice so I can vape all day long w/o overdosing myself...

also have one more question:

will i definitely know when my cartridge/ drip runs out?? it seems like i lose the flavor first, but im still getting vapor is this bad? i dont want to burn my atty

If you work in an office with a computer get a pass through. These are great and saves the batt for later. My PT even works on the USB port in my truck so I can chain vape during my hour drive to and from work each day. These are a great invesment.

Don't take chances with your atty running dry. If you strat to lose flavor or vapor top the cart off with more juice. Running dry is not healthy for your atty or your cart.

Hi and welcome!

This thing can be broken down into a few parts:
1. Desire to quit/switch
2. What type of a smoker were you? How much? What do you truly enjoy about smoking ?etc.
3. Matching a device to fully covers those needs (look, feel, throat hit, battery life price, carto/atty)
4. Finding a vendor
5. Learning to use properly
6. Experimenting with liquid, other devices etc.
7. Enjoying
8. Tinkering and modifying or perhaps creating your own PV (if you wanna go that far)

Step 1.
When you have a couple hours, go to link below. Read first six links at the very top. Don't shortchange yourself or try to take the quick route now, only to find out you have wasted time later.
The ECF Library

All the best!
