I was so excited waiting for my e-cig and could not be more disappointed after the first puff...My complain is not the flavor or the amount of vapor but the feeling of mist. It was so unpleasant and irritating, making me cough, often, that I quickly developed a reject feeling and the only idea of taking the e-cig was unpleasant. Tried different levels of nic and flavors but it was the same irritating vapor. If I switch to another brand, could I expect a different quality vapor? How could be possible have a clue about that feature? Are e-cig sizes standard, I mean, can I try different cartos in the same cig or should I buy a new cig with every try? Now I use mine just occasionally and most of the time I smoke regular cigarettes.

Can you tell us which unit you own so there is a frame of reference for other's recommendations?

I know when I first started vaping I coughed like you wouldn't believe, which lead me to go back and forth between vaping & analogs for about a year. I started full time vaping almost 4 weeks ago, and got the cough again (but I was starting to get a cold so I kept telling myself the cold was causing the cough). I kept at it and the coughing stopped, I do cough a little in the morning, but not as terrible as when I had just started. I also noticed when I had an analog & then vaped the cough was 100x worse. I honestly think it was my body getting used to the vapor.

between here and there
It has been the experience of many members here at ecf that if any company says 'one cartomizer takes the place ofxx of cigs' they are not telling you the truth...
I have never tried this brand and after looking at the sight, i would not recommend it.....
Try looking for a reg or xl 510 battery....these hit like champs are do not spray any liquid....you get vapor only, just like a cig...
You can look at companies that are ecf registered by clicking here.
Forum Suppliers List
I personally like liberty-flights.com or
cignot.com
goodprophets.com
just look at these or the list and come back with questions. Decide what looks good to you and what is your price range.

I am sorry you are having a tough time, but we can steer you in the right directions....

Have your tried juice from another company? Also, have you tried a different base? IE: These Nic-Stix could be PG based which some people have an allergic reaction too. They often switch to a VG base and have very happy vaping lives. (I am looking at this because you have tried difference variations of nic levels as well and the cough persisted. Also, it could be how you are breathing it in. Might try sucking into mouth and then inhaling to your lungs. (Don't know if you do this already or not.)

Something to think about.

We need to know what you bought first. If it was a 3-piece, the atomizers have nasty tasting primer on them when new. And the prefilled carts that come with 3-piece are often the Chinese 100% PG eliquids which are not the best and can be harsh. If you were tasting primer though - yeah that is really nasty.

If you bought a 2 piece, then what brand? Some have Chinese PG juice that can be very plain and harsh. Even the good brands like Vapor4Life have some flavors that are overflavored and not that pleasant. And these types of models can give a pretty warm hit so 24mg nic may feel too harsh.

Once have good equipment suitable for you, and you are not tasting primer, and you have some decent eliquid then it can be very very nice. But in the beginning, the vapor will feel weird.

When you quit smoking, you may cough a lot more. This is because the body for some reason decide to work double time to get rid of the poisons from the smoking when you quit. If you have been a heavy smoker for a long time, the coughing can be pretty bad because:

In the trachea, the walls are lined with cilia, small hairs that protrude from the tracheal epithelium. They move in a synchronous wavelike motion, thereby moving foreign bodies trapped in phlegm upwards towards the oropharynx, so they may be swallowed. Cigarette smoke destroys or paralyzes these cilia, so the only way that phlegm can be removed is via coughing.

Regarding whether your e-cig and juice function as they should:
Pure PG juice is too harsh to some, VG softens it a lot, so use a juice with VG in it. The mix of PG/VG is a matter of taste, but 80/20 is a very popular mix.

When you vape, it mustn't taste burnt AT ALL. If it taste burnt, it means it is burnt.

Nicotine is also a factor, you need to adjust your nicotine to about the same level as you cigs were.

The PG/VG which is the base of e-juice, do AFAIK not cause any coughing whatsoever, unless maybe if you are allergic.

That is interesting because I have not read before about cough and could not guess it was so common. BUT I dont think that is a good signal. Sound like mist components are worse than the smoke`s and really, we are vaping clueless about what are we getting in our lungs. Nobody list the components and e-cig are relatively new in the market so...Can we be sure that vaping is safe? On the other hand, that unpleasant feeling discourage a lot and do not help the e-cig to become a true alternative. So, developers need to work on mist composition yet. They dont get it at all.
I want to congratulate you for your achievement. Only we smokers know how much it worth.

When I first started vaping, my first hit was a HARSH toke.. and flip flopping between analogs and digitals just prolonged the irritation and dryness from the vapor. However, the first juice I experienced was Chinese Cheapo juice, and by comparison with what I vape now, a 60/40 blend of VG/PG, its like going from rest stop one-ply to Charmin ultra strong :)

Also, the batteries of my Smoking Everywhere Stealth were, quite simply, worthless. Auto batteries, an attomizer that didn't attomize, and a mouthpiece that leaked like a sieve.

Look at the suppliers that are registered on this site, and read a bit more to see if you can't be turned on again to the idea of a great smoking experience without the tar or 4400 chemicals that are added to tobacco cigarettes.

Can we be sure that vaping is safe?

Yes, as sure as we can be without being world class doctors that have run dozens of blind studies. The Glycol in the juice has been used as a "medium" for nebulizers for over 50 years, its used in theatrical fog machines, its an additive in food. I'm not scared to put it in my body. Neither am I afraid of the nicotine. Hell, with my morning coffee I consume enough stims to send a pack of hamsters into an epileptic fit.

If Nic-Stix is very skinny like a cigarette then to me it looks like a modified M03 or M402 with a pointy atomizer added to poke through foil in carts. aka e-Health, a very cheap Chinese ecig (like $9 from China)

Are you a smoker? if you are not a smoker then don't vape.

Are you dragging the vapor into your mouth first and then inhaling? Don't try to inhale as you drag.

That ecig is not a well-supported one so you are pretty much stuck with the tiny carts with the very small juice cup you have to push up with a paperclip to fill. However you can refill them with different eliquid, you can restuff with blue foam (cut down the precut blue foam from strictlyejuice.com).

Or you can buy a better more supported model like Joye 510 which will be a bit thicker and longer but has support for blank cartomizers which let you vape longer without adding eliquid.
