I kept a half pack in my car for a few days just as a safety blanket type of thing I think. I did smoke one or two the first few days when I was getting used to vaping, but I never ended up finishing the pack :)

And, obviously, with 4000+ chemicals in a burning cigarette, there are probably other things we're missing when we crave a cigarette.
I really want to bring attention to this point, because it was seriously bothering me when I first cut out the analogs. What other addictive chemicals are in a cigarette that are not present in an e-cigarette??

The first days that I was off of analogs (about a pack/day of Camel Filters), I could tell that my e-cig was indeed helping my withdrawal, a lot. But not quite 100% of it, no matter how much I vaped. I just suddenly had this feeling that nicotine was not the only chemical I was addicted to. I guess it could just be psycological, but if there were other addictive chemicals, what would they be?

I am happy to say that I am 100% off of analogs for almost 3 weeks now, and the thought of going back to them makes me sick. I never would have been able to do it this quickly without the e-cig! You can do it, just go at your own pace and you will find a way to cut them out in the end.

I don't know what chemicals in particular cause it, but I do know that smoking analogs affects some of the "feel good" chemicals in the brain. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it has an affect on dopamine and serotonin. Not sure about the serotonin, though, but was told that by my psychologist.

This appears to be the reason that so many psych patients smoke. I read somewhere that upwards of 75% of schizophrenics smoke and high percentages of people with other psych illness smoke and this is believed to be an attempt as self-medication as the smoking seems to relieve some of their symptoms.

As for the menthol question...

Now I never really liked menthol cigarettes all that much, but have bummed more than enough of them in my time to know what they taste like. And personally, I thought the EcoPure menthol was spot on as far as tasting like a real menthol cigarette. And you also get TONS of vapor since it is VG juice.

Also there is a really good thread about the menthol question here...
