The Vamo is pretty popular and cheap, I have vaped the Vamo and the SVD, Other than the SVD looking a little cooler than the vamo they vaped the same. Vamos look can be changed with a cool J wrap. All APVs are going to have a learning curve. You can't go wrong with a couple of EGO twists either. Provari's are sweet but a huge step up in price, if your new to vaping and not sure if your going to stick with it, you might want to wait before making a jump that big.

I'd be careful about the Groove... They had a recall due to safety a while back. What do you currently use ?? Gives us an idea of where to start from and what your experienced with using. Comfort range of price ... whether you like to drip , Carto, Tank ...... Or just been cig-a-liking. Out of the two you mentioned above.... I would probably go with the SVD or MVP / VV ... Watch getting the Iclear 16 setup though... it vapes airy and is a little cold temp wise for my taste!!! Really depends on what you are looking for in your vape preference, naturally. Hope this help.... Happy Vapin:evil:

I have the Sigelei Zmax V3 telescopic flat top and enjoy it very much. It's VV and VW so you can set your watts and it automatically sets the voltage based on the resistance of your atty. Pretty much set and forget. It has excellent build quality and polished stainless steel so no fingerprints. It's telescopic so you can use any size battery from 18350 to 18650 for different sizes and battery life.

You can get it at Exhale Vapors for under $58 with the code vaporjoes11percent. Good luck in your search for an APV.

I'm sorry to be predictable but I'd recommend the Vamo. For around $50 you can get a good mod that does VV and VW, plus batteries and a decent charger from out favorite Chinese supplier. You can also get the MVP there as well as some other excellent deals on APV and mechs (if you are that way inclined)

I lurked on the APV forums here for a while just reading and learning before I purchased my Vamo, I just felt bang for my buck, I couldn't go wrong - I'm really happy with it.

You might also want to look through someone like PBusardo's feed on youtube - he has reviewed a lot of APVs and will list their positives and negatives and give you some idea what to expect when using them on a daily basis.

The 2 big questions are:
What price range are you looking at?
and
What options do you want?

Everyone so far has stated what they think are good.. and while several have the same options, some don't and the price range went all over the place.

I'm no provari expert. It's the highest I know other than custom. If I remember correctly, currently Variable Volt (VV) only? (someone correct me if it's now coming with Variable Wattage (VW)...) But I hear it's a very sturdy item and users love 'em. About $180???

eVic is a work horse, although I think a bit "fragile" for some users. Wife loves hers though, Does everything. Connects to the computer for settings, can be used as a pass-thru, reads ohms and does VV and VW, puf counter.. and can get for $75 right now or less

Vamo is heavy, Had a few issues but most have been corrected or made even better lately. Either V2 or V3 (I think V3 is an ugly body, but love the updates to it otherwise) It does VV and VW, reads the ohms and works for many of us. You can now get great kits with great chargers for about $50 right now.

iTaste SVD is kewl looking to me.. VV and VW, but I don't know much more about it.. Seen it for about $63 and higher in kit.. $41 and up for the APV alone.. Yea.. I want one.. :D

iTaste MVP is VV and a box mod.. Nice looking.. $45 and up for a kit

Kamry K200 is VV, puff counter, reads the ohms.. kewl color adjustments on the screen.. Kit seen for $46 and up...

Lots and lots more options and choices out there

I am looking to spend under $50-$100. It needs to be pretty tough for me (I am a clutz) I would really like to find a whole kit if I can for that price range. I want something with good directions (I am not always the brightest crayon in the box) Couple of reason I like the Itaste SVD is you have to hold two buttons at the same time to adjust settings, I like the changing color of the led to let me know about battery power status, and I love the Iclear 30 tanks I am using one I got from a local store on my smokewinder and it is the only wick tank I have truly enjoyed

$50 - $100 will get you most APV kits out there, meaning you can find exactly what you like. You just need to outline what you want once you discover what your options are. For example, do you want a smaller profile, a colored APV, longer battery life, etc. I have a few mods myself, and I just love the Sigelei V3 telescoping mod. Big or Small. Shorter or Longer battery life. Home or out. Stealth or Not. Just a lot of flexibity. Also, a lot of vendors carry these and prices can vary about $25 for the kits, probably all less than $100. That being said, my wife loves her Anyvape CVI 1, I love my Sigelei mini. I'm on my third eVic and it's my favorite display, but by far the least durable mod out there imho. Also, the iTaste V3 with variable wattage has just come out and it's now our new favorite out and about mod, our Friday night mod if you like. Anyway, a big part of the allure of vaping is the journey, and big part of the journey is the gear along the way. I often think that as I continue to add gear, and it helps me to stay away from analogs, that eventually I will be able to give up vaping, as long as I continue to buy the gear. Anyway, probably won't test that hypothesis, but I think you get my point. Best of luck to you, welcome to ECF and good luck!

They have J-Wraps for the SVD now! I just checked the site to make sure. :)
