Okay so I'm planning to start vaping and I'm completely oblivious to what I should use. I was just wondering since a lot of you guys have a lot more experience then me in this situation what should I get. I know that no matter what when I start vaping I will be completely done with cigarettes. I usually smoke somewhere around a pack a day. If you need more info to suggest what I should get just post below.:) Thank you for the help!

I would suggest you get an Innokin Itaste VV3 for a battery and maybe an Aerotank mini to start. Both are great units and will serve you well. 101Vapes usually has the best prices on stuff. Be sure to get some extra coils for the Arotank too. JMHO for what it's worth. Juice is a matter of personal taste. Seek out a vape shop and try some juices to see what you like and buy a few flavors. Your taste will change as you transition from smokes to vapor so be ready to buy more flavors. Good luck and good vaping!!

All good advice so far. Consider the nautilus mini over the aerotank mini (either choice is still really good). Also definitely go for the MVP over the vv3 if the size doesn't bother you, battery life is really long on the MVP and a bit too short on the vv3. For juice nicotine strength, I would say 18mg if you're used to strong cigarettes, 12mg for lights, 6mg for ultra lights.

Although this is the second time I've quit smoking, my stash was all out of date so I was in a similar position as you. I got myself an itaste vv v3.0 and a protank mini 3. I also got a mini zMax and an aerotank mini. The plan was to use the itaste during work time since it's narrower and lighter and you can use the micro USB as pass through and charging during the day when needed and the zMax mini when off work.

What happen is that I mostly use the zMax and the itaste is a backup if something happens to my zMax, batteries or charger. The itaste can be charged anywhere and only requires a micro USB cable.

I have those two clearos because if one goes kaputt like dropping it and breaking the glass, I have a spare. If I could go back I would have gotten two aerotanks because the only difference between the protank and the Aero is the airflow valve which is a nice addition anyway.

Obviously, the material I mentioned is all you really need BUT you will become a shopaholic and start to buy more and more tanks, mods, rbas, rdas, etc, etc... Especially if you stay around this forum :D

Welcome ;)

Regards
Tony

i think everything had already been covered haha. itaste vv or mvp are great choices. i would recommend either a kanger protank of some variety or an aspire nautilus.

BUT the most important thing, no matter what you choose, is to not skimp out on quality. it's better to spend a little extra money on something that will last you a long time versuses buying a cheap, low quality device that will give you a lot of problems.

just my 2 cents. welcome to ecf!

Where do you want to go with vaping?

Decide that first and then let the hardware follow your desires.

Let me put out some examples for you...

If you want to use vaping purely as a way to try to quit smoking then I'd suggest something like the following:
Ego c twist 1100 mah battery and a protank 2 or protank 2 mini
You may also need to get a battery charger if you don't already have one.

The above is what I consider to be a good set up for somebody that wishes to try to quit smoking and then either reduce the nicotine in their juice until they are at 0 and then stop vaping.

On the other hand...

If you think that you're going to want to vape for the rest of your life and you know that your personality (like mine) is one of those personalities where you can't do anything half assed and you know that you need to go full hog into anything that you do, then I'd suggest:
iTaste MVP 2 and a couple of tanks of your choice (I'd suggest the Protank 2 or 3, and an aerotank mega and maybe a nice protank 2 mini but this is your choice, get the kind of tanks that work well for you, for me only the "air" tanks work well, I need my aerotank mega and my nautilus to allow me the free easy air draw).

Since the MVP 2 charges itself (I mean you don't need an external charger) all you'll need if you don't already have it, would be about a 2amp wallwart and maybe a longer usb to mini usb cable (the one that comes with it is tiny short but good for using your MVP 2 to charge your phone).

I think the MVP 2 is a good way to get into the vaping atmosphere and then you've not wasted your money buying things like Blu look a likes, and ego twists etc and be able to start off with a nice plume of vapor and get your nicotine fix.

If you decide that you won't be satisfied with that and have one of those personalities that says "I won't rest until I have the best" then somebody else will have to tell you what is the absolute considered to be the best mods and tanks available today. Personally, I'm extremely happy with the MVP 2 that I picked up this week, and only saddened at the amount of money that I spent on all the ego twist batteries that I had purchased that I could have just skipped by going straight to a mod.

I just started vaping heavily a week ago when I got my iTaste vv. I have a Davinci Vaporizer that I use for the herbs :), I've been using that for about a year or so. I tried the Blu e-cig but it was terrible. I wandered into a new vape shop here called The Vapour Shoppe and was really pleasantly surprised. They answered all my questions and suggested the iTaste. I couldn't be happier. I have KangerTech tank and coils on it and it works great. I can see myself really getting into it. I haven't had a pinch of Skoal or a cigarette since I fired this thing up.

I was pretty much in the same boat as you. After much consideration and research, I went with a ProVari and Aspire Nautilus as my first mod ever. My advice is to not skimp on your initial cost because you'll probably end up spending the difference later anyway.
I agree completely. I tried a BLU and was really let down. I almost gave up the prospect of vaping entirely because of it. Get a quality kit right off the bat so you don't have to mess around. You don't need to spend $200-300 either. I got my iTaste vv starter kit for around $80.

I did have a little higher startup ($250) but I was able to get a ProVari with 10% off and the Charger with extra batteries and my tank. The bundle alone literally made the process painless. I spent the whole day at work like "WHY can't I just find a bundle of quality that's ready to go?" I hit up YouTube and landed on ProVape. Best decision. I have noticed since that you definitely do not have to spend what I did for decent quality, I just don't mind paying Americans to do good work (and the premium that comes with it.)

Awesome dude! I love this little store here in my area. It's really chill, all the people who work their are fanatics, and they are super-friendly. I really wanted to give it an honest go to see if I could get into it. The iTaste vv is amazing -- but I can see myself really getting into it now with some custom-builds. Eventually Ill probably have a $200-300 piece, but I wanted to take baby steps.

Makes perfect sense, can't blame you for easing into it. I always dive head first. I am sure some day I'll end up with a $300 piece but it will have to show it's worth. We only have one store here and it's sketchy. I was only in there once and the guy is selling some form of eGo's for $40 but people are eating it up. I don't hate the hustle, there was just some misinformation I heard him spewing.

Bummer, man. Where do you live? We have shops popping up left and right here in MN. Some are sketchy tobacco shops like you're probably referring to -- but a lot of them are full-blown vape shops.
