I dont know what it is about e-liquids...but nearly every manufacturer I see has the idiotic idea that a true tobacco flavor should taste like maple syrup. Ive tried a few replica liquids that tried to simulate Marlboro Reds, Parliaments, and Camels and they all have a distinct sweetness to them. Which is funny because NONE OF THOSE BRANDS ARE SWEET!!!

Then I bought 3 juices from My Vapor Store...flue cured, fire cured VA, and Turkish...and they all taste like Chocolate pipe tobacco. They arent bad...but I am a SMOKER and if I wanted sweet Id get a Kit Kat.

Why is this industry inundated with sweet flavors? Ive seen strawberry cheesecake, peachy mint, caramel candy corn, raspberry champagne and a myriad of other childish sounding concoctions...these awful sounding things are like 90% of the liquids I see offered.

The other 10% are the so called "real" tobacco flavors and even those are friggin sweet!

Any advice on good authentic tobacco flavors that arent made for kids or lightweight smokers?

Im also looking for good herbal tea style flavors...I got a Black Tea one but it tasted like Chanel No. 5. It seems like there should be a ton of tea and herbal flavors but I have found only that one. Kinda disappointing.

I prefer sweeter tobacco flavors (using Freedom Smoke USA Outlaw today) when I vape tobacco flavored at all. You might be surprised to find yourself liking sweet things in the future, but I also started out with plain tobacco flavor.

I'm not much help, I guess, but I've heard the Dekang tobacco flavors aren't overly sweet. And they are cheap. The only not sweet tobacco flavor I really liked was the blu disposable flavor.

Even though you likely didn't smoke menthol, you should try a menthol tobacco.

You'll never get the ashy burnt tobacco smoke exactly, because you aren't burning anything. E-cigs don't 100% replace the experience of smoking, but they are a lot closer than anything else available.

If you want a natural, real, and pretty unique tobacco liquid try the Moondrop 'Straight Up'...its not like anything else I have tried (which is not a short list!) It is actually a bit too real for my liking...I have come to like a tobacco with a slight caramel blend...emphasis on slight...and Bloogs RY4 is my staple. Give 'Straight Up' a try, sounds like it might be just what youre after...great company too btw.

+1 on what Rob said there.

The taste of burning tobacco cannot be replicated - not because the tobacco essence cannot be distilled, but because vaping liquids, and vaping itself, does not have all the other crap that gives a cigarette its distinctive taste.

Welcome to ECF, Zodas - but keep in mind one key fact. Despite the fact they may be known as 'e-cigarettes', we are not "smoking".

I know that they can never really replicate the real thing...but that doesnt mean they cant be a little closer. Vaping doesnt imply "sweet"...all though what Base said up above implies it could be a VG issue. So Ill look into that, but Im just saying that these liquids are waaaay too sweet for any real smoker to enjoy.

I mean I dont mind sweet flavors...but I would just want a mild hint of sweet...I completely didnt expect something labeled "fire cured Turkish tobacco" to taste like Nestles.

I'm pretty new to all this but got INTO it really hard n heavy.
I've been playing around with DIY and tried about 6 different tobacco flavors so far.
The closest thing I found that Simulates a cigarette somewhat is Tobacco Blend (Alc) or PG version to most likely with a few drops of a menthol concentrate in it.

Dunno if your interested in the DIY route but if you do a lot of reading and spend a few bucks (or a lot) LOL.

In the beginning a mostly found that flavors seemed to strong from a lot of vendors . But it kinda like smoking you get used to the flavor and eventually it doesnt seem as strong or sweet. Also found tobacco flavors get better with time. You may want to try something that sat around for a while. A few weeks or so..........It may be better now then when you bought it. Especially if they mix there juices fresh on the order.

Backwoods brew has a bunch of tobacco flavors that arnt sweet and people like. Also Vaperite has some natural tobacco juices that are pretty good and arnt sweet.
I know that you want only tobacco flavor juices now, bc that's what everybody says when they start, but if you open yourself up to trying some other things, you'll realize that a lot of those "childish" flavors are quite good. Personally I think the sooner you start trying other things, the sooner youll be a happy vaper. So many people only want to tobacco juices at first, me included, but then realize that the majority of them are gross and start trying other things, and once you find a few you like, that's when you really start to enjoy vaping. I know how you feel, i dont like the really sweet juices either. There are some really good juIces though that arnt overly sweet at all, you just have to open up and try some. Not one of my daily vapes is a tobacco flavor now and when I started I thought that's all I wanted.

I believe I know what you are experiencing. I have also been looking for a less or non-sweet tobacco flavor. Not perfect, but reasonable for me is currently Tobacco Xtra from ecigexpress.com. As was said above, you are not going to experience a burning tobacco taste since that is not the nature. I am settling for the tobacco taste that a real cig SMELLS like only more powerful. That's the best I can describe it. Also, the taste will be more potent in a carto or dripper. I started with the eGo tank and IMHO it was tough to get good TH plus flavor.
I also agree with you on the sweet factor of some of the highly-rated juice, e.g. Boba's or Bounty Hunter. Though very tasty, there is a very sweet element to these. It appears that the longer one vapes, other taste sensations become even more enjoyable as many posters here will testify.

Zodas,

I might not be the best person to answer your question. I do have a sweet tooth, big time, but I will try to put my 2 cents in. I went the Marlboro liquid route when I started and I thought it was too light compared to the ones I use to smoke. To make up for that I added some menthol and some cherry, and that hit the spot. Tried out some Bounty Hunter from NiteLite Vapor and loved it. It is a sweet juice in my opinion. Their Renagade RY4 is a stronger tobacco juice, but it does have some vanilla and other sweet undertones. I can even taste honey from time to time. So far I would say that you will not like any of these juices. In time, that may change so who knows.

I picked up some small bottles from Vermilion River. Their Kentucky Wood blends are very stong, almost too harsh for me. To me this is not a sweet juice and might be a tobacco flavor that would work for you. Their Kentucky Vanilla Wood is a nice vape if you are in the mood for something with a little sweetness in it though.
