Hi everyone! I need some advice, I have been vaping for around 4 years now and currently I am using the [h=1][/h][h=3]x6 Variable Voltage 1300mAh eGo Battery with an Aspire ET-S BDC Glassomizer, but I feel like it's time for a change. I do not know anything about mods lol but everyone seems to love them so I want to give them a try! I am looking for a mod that would be a good step up from what I am using now, I also need it to be durable (I've been known to drop my e-cigs lol), I also like a lot of vapor and throat hit. I have been considering getting the smok Aluminum ACE Variable Voltage/Wattage Mod Device, has anyone tried this one? If so do you like it? Also it does not appear to come as a "starter kit" so I would need to purchase a battery and charger, so can any of you give me advice on which batteries and chargers work best? Thanks so much, I really appreciate any advice that I can get![/h]

I would suggest an MVP 2.0 or the 20 watt Version with an aspire nautilis tank with BVC. I have the mvp 2.0 and for battery life, it rocks. For the life I get about 2 and a half days on a charge. Using it in the morning, during morning break, lunch and then of course after work. I run mine at about 9.5 watts. I have not tried the one you mentioned. As far as vapor, the more VG in the juice, the more clouds you get but sacrifice the throat hit. Whats your current juice your using? PG, VG nic? I find that a 70 pg 30 vg is a great happy medium with vapor and TH. I am sure more people will chime in on this subject of course :) Happy Vaping and hope you get what you need.

The Ace can often be had at bargain prices, but you'll want to buy 2 or 3 of them because of the odds of them going wonky. They just don't really seem to have the durability, but YMMV. I'd never put the Vamo in the durable camp yet some never have any issues. I agree with Ablonz that an MVP 20w might be a great sweet spot for durability, but an istick should be on your radar too but even the MVP might not survive a decent drop.

I can't personally recommend the Aspire BVC coils, and would point you towards the safety issues discussed in this thread to make up your own mind:

Thanks! I am going to look up the mod you suggested right now! I am currently using UnFlavored Nicotine Smoke Juice E-Liquid
Nic Level 100mg Mix 50% PG / 50% VG and I add peppermint flavor to it.

I certainly hope your not using 100 mg nic. That is for diy and it can kill you

Thanks so much! I will check out your suggestions and I will be sure to read about the safety issues with Aspire, I had no idea that there were problems with it. The main reason that I have been using the aspire is because it hasn't shattered when dropped like some of the plastic ones that I have used, and the battery that I use now is very durable but I really want to try something new :)

Wow, thats a hard one! There is sooo much new stuff coming out right now.
But because of just that, there are lots of really good deals on some nice devices. Devices that were all the rage even six months ago.
Mvp's and itaste vv's have been around and highly regaurded as quality and they have just came out with new upgrades..... So deals on the older versions are everywhere.....
I paid over 60$ just last march on a segelei z-max mini and found one online recently for 39$.

Mini seems to be the name of the game these days and they are available in everything from 10-50 watts

Do you want tube style or box mod, small and stealthy, built in or replacable battery? I know its hard to choose!!! LOL

I was thinking that I would stick with tube style because I really don't understand how the box style works lol, it seems it would be difficult to hold especially while driving but I could be wrong. I don't have a preference on if the battery is removable or not, but I have never used one with a removable battery. And yes it is so hard to choose the right one with so many cool choices lol

Also the box mod style seems to have several sizes, MVP is about the size of a flip phone. as far as cylinder style, I have no clue cause I only have vision spinner II battery that I only use if my others are charging :) also because the battery life I can only get a days use from it. I am sure there are tube style that you can get a replaceable battery with a longer life.

Well high watt and box mods are very popular now.....so good deals are out there for tube mods.
I'm sitting here right now using my z-max ( segelei )myself, and have 2 isticks and a dna 30 watt sitting unused.
Can look at Vamo's and Z-max's ( segelei and Smok ) and both have telescoping models that allow different battery configurations for your needs.
Once you buy a decent battery charger and batteries....you are good to go.
And I have a Smok Ace that was given to me and a used Smok Z- max I bought used and the z-max is built like a tank!
They all get the job done.....LOL.....i'm not smoking. Good luck on you quest....you will find something.

yeah, I would suggest to read up on mixing. I usually only dilute mine by 11% total flavor with depending on what I am running it on either 70/30 18 mg/ml or 30/70 6 mg/ml for my mech mod. There is plenty of reading material here in the forums about mixing. here is a link to go to and there is plenty more. E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs hope that helps.

The box-style is generally pretty great once you get the hang of it, you can still drop them in your cup holder. Though in fairness women don't seem to be the biggest fan of the MVP switch on the side and find the istick much more comfortable to hold and use. It's biggest failings are slightly weaker build quality (its 510 likes to strip easy, etc.), and it doesn't handle low-voltage well at all, so your floor is about 4 volts. If you're already using your Aspire BDCs at around 4V, you'd really only have an issue with things like protank 2s and such. I'd check out some female reviews on youtube to get a sense of them in your hands.

I wouldn't mess with removable batteries unless you find you really just burn through the batteries and never have enough. At the price point we're talking you're probably looking at a year & change and you're automatically adding at least $25-30 for a decent charger and battery. And I'd probably trust dropping an MVP & istick vs dropping an Ace or Vamo -- but frankly I'd trust dropping a spinner & evod the most. ;)

In additional fairness, while the MVP is pretty durable compared to some of the box mods in its bracket, your weak link if you're going to be dropping things is always going to be your 510 connector. I'm pretty sure people have committed murder with the itaste 134, and yet you drop it wrong and your connector to the tank is janked and you've got a paperweight. If you know yourself and know you're really clumsy, there's nothing wrong with shooting for cheaper redundancy.
