If you still have juice you like in a higher nic level, I'd recommend getting some in a very low nic level, probably with the same flavor. Then you can mix the two together and play around with nic levels to see what you like.

If you mix 50/50 with 24 and 6, you get 15. (24 + 6 = 30, then divide by 2 since it's half an half.) With a little basic math, you can get whatever level you want.

I did a lot of this as I moved down, gradually, from 24 to 0.

I am totally new to this and bought some 6 mg juice and then the next order was 0 mg. I am a pack to pack and a 1/2 day smoker. I think I messed up as I still crave the real thing and buy by the pack instead of the carton but maybe need more nicotine for now. Is it safe to buy the nicotine liquid and add a drop or two to the 10 ml bottles of pre-made juice I already have? How do I determine if that is enough or too much?

I have 48mg nic liquid.

.5 ml (measure with a one ml syringe) to 10 ml will give you about 2.4 mg/ml. Increase by stages until you are happy.

Drops are not very accurate.

I would call it a titration method. Precise enough to get every beginner's level. The mg/ml per pack just isn't for everyone. Practically anything would give me symptoms of an overdose, even from the very beginning. And I was smoking the equivalent of a pack a day of rollies made from pipe tobacco.

You didn't share how many cigs you used to smoke daily. This is the standard used to make recommendations for the nicotine concentration in e-liquid.

6 mg = half a pack a day or less.
12 mg = one pack a day.
18 mg = one and a half packs a day.
24 mg = two packs a day.

I only smoked a half pack a day, but needed 24mg to quit. Now that I'm dripping, I'm down to 6. Not sure if I'll ever go to 0.

You almost certainly need more nic. Probably in the 12 to 18 range, but that's a pretty wild guess.

I smoked 3 PPD before I switched to vaping. I started at 24mg nic, and that wasn't enough. It helped a lot, and I cut down dramatically right away, but sometimes, mostly right after meals, I just had to have a cig, and vaping didn't seem to help. Eventually I got some 30mg juice. I would use that after meals, and use the 24 as my "all day". As soon as I started doing that, I quit smoking. I didn't even need the 30 mg for long, but I sure needed it to get off the cigs in the first place.

It's easier to lower the nic level in your juice than to raise it. I'd recommend getting some juice in a higher nic level, and if you find it's too much, you can easily dilute to lower levels.

Good luck.
