OK. I have been shopping for an "E cigarette" and I am getting VERY confused. Can someone please help me to make a decision as to which one to buy? Here is what I know I'd like and some information about me:
I live in NY, USA. I want one that resembles a real cigarette. I'd like it to be "refillable" with liquid so I don't need to buy the cartridges. (maybe all of them can be refilled, I don't know). Good amount of vapor is a plus. I WAS about to buy the "smoking everywhere" but this site has changed my mind.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Before buying, take a look here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...2-new-updated-comprehensive-intro-vaping.html

This will give you some information to start with.

There are a number of quality suppliers on this site. 901 & 801 models are the most popular due to availability and compatibility of parts.......

I would suggest going cheap until you know it is for you.

The absolutely least expensive ecig is here www.e-cigarette-mart.com 29.99 shipped. Take about 10 days to get to the U.S. I have purchased from them and the product works just fine (It is a 901 model)

The 510 is another popular model. Read the review forum here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/electronic-cigarette-reviews/

If it is for you, you will end up with a "mod" of some kind(see pic in my sig)....but that is a later discussion.............get reading!!:D:D

And Welcome!

Most people (myself included) want a vaper that looks as much like a cigarette as possible. After they get it, they want more battery life and a cartridge that holds more liquid, so they then buy the pen style. I'd recomend going for the pen first. I believe it's also known as an 801.

And then when you want one that really works you will get a mod..............

I went for the 901 first and I have tons of parts for it and I'm sticking with it, but if I could do it all over again, I probably would have done the 801 due to longer battery life by a bit, and cartys holding more juice; That said, it looks like a PEN not a cigarette. I do know with the smaller 901 attys, people can tend to get some tighter better throat hits.

And then when you want one that really works you will get a mod..............

Exactly, once you learn the starting ropes and get over the real cigarette idea and learn that the batteries absolutely SUCK on these things and you are doing nothing but scrambling charging batteries all day, you will give up the notion it needs to look like a real cig and get a MOD. There are plenty of choices for mods here on this forum, large and small.

+1 on that. The sooner you can abandon your "It must look as much like a real cigarette as possible" the sooner you'll be happy.

EXACTLY!

ELENDIL - What do you know of the DSE-103?

I am not real familiar with it. I think is is what's called a super-mini, which means it is even smaller and more of a cig look-alike than a 901. That means even less battery life........... Someone will come along with more knowledge about that particular model than I have I'm sure...........

Not quite:

DealExtreme: $10.69 Electronic Cigarettes with Charger and 6-Refills Set (110V~220V AC)

At $10.69 shipped, THIS is the cheapest you'll find. I have one and it works great - however, they have a lot of QC issues with these so you may get a dud. It's good for trying the whole concept of e-smoking cheaply if you're willing to gamble with QC and can wait 2-3 weeks for it to show up at your door. It looks like a cigarette, you can refill it, etc.

Really, MOST e-cigs are a QC gamble. People frequently get bad parts on pretty much ALL the models.

OK. I am SOOOOO confused. some say the 901 is best and some say the M402 is best. I am located in Israel. I want to import ecigs from China and sell here and on the web. So, first Question is:
1) which manufacturer to buy from ? who sells the 901 & who does the M402s?
2) Do you think its a bad idea to enter this business due to whats going on in the states? will it be legal for me to sell them to people in the US?
Please help me out- i am soooo confused!!

Elendil is correct.
Less battery life so be prepared to carry an army of batteries and play the new MMO entitled "Battery Quest" where you get to do fun activities like plugging a battery into a charger and unplugging a battery from a charger. Don't worry you will get to do it ALL OF THE TIME so the fun will never stop. The great thing about it is not only will you carry a lot of batteries but you will carry chargers as well (Causing you to invent wacky new ways to carry batteries, chargers, atomizers, juice, fog machines, etc...). Your friends will sigh when they see you because they know there will be no exchange of pleasentries like "Hi how are you?" or "Hey, it's great to see you.." but rather "Where can I plug these six chargers in?" as you quickly scan the room and move their couch...

Hi kyzer & welcome to the forums.

You'll find that everyone has a different preference to the model & type of e-cigarettes there are available on the market.

I'm also in NY and currently nearing the end of my first week with e-cigs.

Here's what I can tell you from my own experience.

I own 2 models; M401 & the Titan510;

Both are fairly close to an analog(real cigarette), they're both about the length of a size 100 analog.

The 510 is slightly thicker but appears to provide a slightly larger vapor production. It's also a lot easier of a drag, compared to the M401.

The M401 is slightly harder to drag, but appears to be the same thickness as an analog.

Like others have mentioned, some people will want to transition to penstyle cigarettes because of their capacity and parts availability. I can tell you that finding a good deal on 510 parts is slightly more challenging than M401s'. And because of the 510's popularity, most suppliers run out of stock on them real quick.

I'm pretty content with both models and have re-purchased additional parts in anticipation for batteries & atomizers dying(which is a natural occurrence)

The 801 & 901 penstyles are quite popular to those who've been vaping for a while. But they don't look much like an analog.

As for liquids, most e-cigarettes can be refilled via dripping the liquid into the mouthpeice(cartridges). You can buy blank ones for different tastes or when they start to break,etc...

Btw, from my observation most purchases within the US take about 3-4 days to arrive.

Good luck with your e-cigarette transition.

There are a few suppliers that sell e-cigarettes wholesale. You may want to dig around the forums for more information on them. To the best of my knowledge, eastmall.net & ruyandirect.com both do bulk orders. Most people have had good experience with them.

The 901 is more easily available item, while the M-series cigarettes will vary in availability depending on supplier/manufacturer.

If your planning to resell them in the US, keep in mind that some international exports have been seized. I don't know if there would be any problems coming from Israel though.

You should also look around the forums, there's already quite a large community of suppliers here in the US, I'm not sure if there'd be anything beneficial from ordering out of the country but maybe you can swing a better deal. Keep in mind the cost of S&H can really offset any profits, considering the notion that you'll be shipping first from China to Israel then to US. But I don't claim to know your situation, so perhaps you might find a way to profit off this.

Good luck with your business.

Ok, I'm still relatively new to this, too, so I'll try to give you some advice from my perspective.

I started with the M401. Ordered a starter kit (2 batteries, 1 atomizer, charger, manual that was written in English, translated to Chinese, then re-translated to English again), then ordered 1 spare battery and 2 spare atomizers. Had enough parts to make three complete e-cigarettes. About a week later it arrived, spent the next day fully charging the batteries, which was fine because my juice didn't arrive until two days after the kit arrived. With the M401, I never looked back. It wasn't 'exactly' like smoking a cigarette, but it was close enough that I never really wanted to smoke another analog after that. To this day, the M401 still has a place in my usage, when I'm on the go.

However, about 10 days in, I became really curious about how the other devices compared. So I ordered an DSE801(pen) kit and a DSE601(pipe) kit. Now, my primary device is the DSE801. Hands down, it has the best vapor:flavor:throat hit balance of all my devices. Plus, as a programmer, having the USB passthru is a necessity, so I rarely use batteries on the device. And, as an added benefit, the lack of the 'cigarette' feel has really helped to remove myself from equating this to analog smoking, so I'm at the point that I really don't miss analogs any more.

The pipe is a unique beast for me. Tons and tons of vapor, but very little throat hit for me. I use it as a relaxation device, mainly. I get very good flavor (more than the 801) out of it, so I use it when I'm sitting back and watching a movie, or (Nerd Alert!) playing D&D with the other guys here at the office, even sometimes when I'm driving.

All in all, I give the M401 a lot of credit for being a top performer and giving me what I needed to get past the initial break from analogs. But I have to admit that the DSE801 model has taken it's place as the top device I reach for after a month of vaping experience.

Ivisi

P.S. An even bigger difference in opinions is juice selection. I chose Johnson Creek as my first juice purchase, and I wish that I hadn't. The flavor, although good, was very weak. Having just quit smoking, my taste buds weren't exactly on top of their game, so I just wasn't getting anything out of the juice. It wasn't until I grabbed some LorAnn's from a bakery supply and mixed up some stronger flavorings that I really started fully enjoying it. Now that I'm a month in, I've gone back to that original Johnson Creek bottle, and the taste, although still weak, is much more noticeable than when I first quit.

Howard thank you very much for all your feedback and personal experiences.
Now, I already hit reply and can't remember other names of the people who also gave me great advice. So to ALL Thank you.
At this moment I am leaning toward the 901. I'd like to get the white one.
I will continue do some reaserch and monitor this thread for more advice and opinion.
2 more questions: 1. The 801 and 901 are very similar, mostly just the 801 has a better battery? Is this true? 2. Any suggestions on where to buy a white 901?
Thanks

Thanks

1. The 801 is a larger atomizer (2 to 3 times as long) and uses a larger cart (holds a lot more juice). The vapor production is very good but many think they lack the throat hit that the 901 or 510 deliver.

2. Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop <--- From China. Cheap. Just like any 901/RN4075 or 801/4072 you will find anywhere.

Hope that helps.
