The Land of Confusion
Ok, I am going on a business trip next week. It is the first one I have had since I quit smoking and started vaping. I know the hotel where we will be staying is 100% smoke free. So my question is this - would you vape in your room? I know it is NOT the same as smoking - but it does still have some odor. I was a very considerate smoker and in this case Ii don't want to break any rules. BUT sometimes asking for permission is a good way to be told NO. I was just wondering what others would do!

Absolutely - no problem at all. Short of spilling a bottle of juice, they'd never be able to tell (and even then, that could be a bottle of shampoo or anything else, so you're still good.)

Even if it is a tobacco flavor... it's not going to 'stick around' like analog smoke does. If you have a bottle of ozium or other decent air freshener, you can easily cover it up when you're done, if it concerns you.

I have vaped in many no smoking hotel rooms with scary signs with big fines written on them, and had no issues whatsoever. (I don't vape tobacco flavors, but I really don't think that impacts it much.)

I do remember a thread out there in ECF land somewhere about someone who got fined by one of the big hotel chains for using there ecig in their hotel room. I would just not do it when the maid came into the room and not admit to doing it when they weren't there. But all that said, I would still vape in my hotel room!

The rule clearly states no smoking in the rooms. If you lit a candle you wouldnt be fined, if you sprayed refreshener all over the room, you wouldnt be fined, hell if you took a vaporizer and stuck vicks in the little oil well of the unit and ran it all night long you would not be fined. The reason that smoking is fined is because it stays and sticks in fabrics mainly carpet and bed spreads. This is not the case with vapor it just dissipates over a time. Personally I would vape, until there is a law that says no vaping in hotel rooms I would tell them to eat it!!! :D Again, as everyone else states some flavors are stronger than others, I would vape something I know that wouldnt sit too long.

Kimberly, I travel quite a bit across the country and to Europe, and I've never had a prob vaping in hotels. Early on, I opened windows, turned on fans, and avoided smoke detectors like a total dork, but them days are gone. I now vape in any hotel, anywhere, without a care.

But I should mention that my fave flavs are coffees, teas, and fruits, and the smells don't linger. As the family mentioned, staying away from overly cig-like vapes might be a good move at least to ease your way into the new and very cool way of travel. Bon voyage~

I vape in hotel rooms, but not V4L No. 7 because that smell takes a while to dissipate. I think most flavors are undetectable, but to be positively sure, Ozium is the bestest! I display the DND sign until I leave for breakfast, and everything is already tucked away.
A dish of vinegar left out in a room will also absorb odors, but I never tried that in a hotel.
