OK so I have only been vaping for about 5 mo and I started on an ego then after about a mo and a half I bought my ego-v v2 and I've had it for 3 mo well all has been fine, I don't use the pass thru NEVER leave my evod on it while it's charging, and take VERY good care of it. I was using it all Monday morning and then left it at home to go to the store and when I got back it wouldn't work, so I thought strange I just charged it the day before and it usually lasts 3 days, but I tried charging it and it said it was almost full so I took it off and tried again still wouldn't work, so put it back on charger and tried to use it while charging and it kept shutting down acting almost like it was shorting out, so I contact the company and of course they told me 'we are sorry you've had it longer than 30 days your on your own!' I've had it 3 mo so of course I'm upset but so anyways my question is does anyone maybe know either how to fix it or give me ANY RECOMMENDATIONS OF WHAT NEW ONE TO GET AND FROM WHO? (someone that will have a GOOD warranty plz) I would really appreciate any help I would def like to stay with a VV OR possibly a VV/VW something that is under$100 it so thanks guys hopefully I can get back at it soon I'm going crazy back on the ego:(

Sitting down, facing forward.
First, any electronic system, even a "simple" vaping device can fail and, according to Murphy, always at the worst possible time. There are a ton of good devices out there, from stick batteries to large mechanical and VV/VW mods. All of them have similar warranty limitations along the line of 30 days with a few exceptions I'm not sure, but I think Provari has a longer warranty, probably the longest, but also comes with a high price tag. I use a Vamo, FastTech for about $30 with shipping, and it's VV/VW and works like a charm, but again any device can fail unexpectedly. Remember, with vaping, backups for backups of your backups...when you smoked you carried around a pack of 20 backups!

2nd for vamo, i have a vamo v3 got the kit from fastech for around $50. it's working great but maybe not that reliable.

Maybe get a innokin svd or itaste vv. Both are vv/vw, the svd is a mod style while the itaste vv is more like an ego twist. The svd has a removable battery while the itaste vv has an internal battery and is charged by micro usb.

fasttech has a decent warranty, 45 days return for refund, 6 months return for exchange.

The only ones with a warranty I've seen are the Provari (1yr standard, 2 yr additional) and REO mods (I think 6 months or 1yr), but neither are in your $100 price range.

I've seen vamos break very quickly also (3 months or less) and some last longer.
You might check out the sigelei Zmax or an itaste MVP or SVD
I've heard good things about all three but the SVD is relatively new and thus unproven.

Get yourself a sigelei zmax from discountvapers. It is a great mod from a great dealer. I'm not sure on warranty but Eric from DV will make sure your happy and if you get a defective product he will replace it. I got my zmax from him 7 months ago and have had no problems. I have dropped it, knocked it over, slept on top of it overnight and the device is ad good as it was from day 1. A solid mod from a solid vendor.

I've had two of them and unfortunately, two or three months is about right for their early death. I like the idea of the ego V, they just don't last long, so I don't like the batteries at all. Consider the iTaste 3.0 when you upgrade. Similar in that it has a display and +/- buttons, but then a very feature rich device, like a Vamo, and yet, smaller than a Twist. Excellent replacement, imho. Good luck.

Hi

I'm another one who considers a Sigelei Zmax worth a look over a Vamo. If you do choose a Vamo, don't get the black chrome finish. It's only been about 3 months and the finish has worn off where I hold it.

on a more technical note: ive had 510 devices not work from center pins too far down or twisted so much the wire inside breaks off. most can be fixed. if its shorting its either the wire or the centerpin is somehow making contact with the outer threads and/or the little rubber sleeve might be cut somewhere making contact that way.

or... its just busted in a way thats not worth fixing.
