that rou's toasted hazelnut from vaperite is pretty good and on the sweet side, not too much tho. It is just really thick, so needs to be thinned before putting into the BMF.
I'm sorry, what?? Cinnamon is poisonous?? That can't be... too many things are made with more than that much cinnamon in it.
Most commercial versions of the spice labeled as "cinnamon" and sold in the USA are not actually cinnamon at all. Hence, the toxic side-effects. It is not the same spice our grandparents bought and consumed. How to identify Real Cinnamon from Cassia
Thanks to the influence of giant corporations, the FDA now allows a cheap alternative called "cassia" to be sold and labeled as "cinnamon" but unfortunately, cassia "cinnamon" contains coumarin--which is potentially toxic. It also thins the blood and can cause liver and kidney damage.
yeah, and the cinnamon oil risk most people talk about is mostly misunderstood science. The only relevance flavor "oils" have to vaping is that it *may* be possible for some to separate eventually from juice during storage. But the word oil as it applies to cinnamon oil is not used in the same way as the oil that causes the rare form of pneumonia. Oil in the sense of cinnamon oil is a short way of saying essential oil, which means it was purified from the plant by steam distillation, and it separates from the water, usually floating on top which is why they use the word oil. But many/most essential oils, including cinnamon essential oil, absorb readily into human tissues. Think tea tree oil that hippies put on everything from cuts to zits, it soaks right in. Most of the organics and essences in shampoos, lotions, cosmetics etc are also essential oils, and pose no health problems. Example, i just got some Janty juice from popeye in trade and was surprised to see it listed all the ingredients, not just the base, but actual chemical names for the flavorings, one of which was linalool, which is a common constituent in many essential oils including cinnamon, again no health risk.
The type of oil that is a vaping risk is petroleum oil like mineral oil, kerosene or diesel fuel, called parafin in UK and other countries. Instead of thinking of just oils, think of petroleum oil vs. essential oil, petroleum obviously not sounding like something you want to inhale, essential oil being the basis of perfumes flavorings and scents for eons. It is inhaled petroleum oils that sit in the lungs and can't be absorbed causing pneumonia like symptoms. Essential oils are inhaled whenever you smell apple pie baking, light a candle, shampoo your hair, smell flowers etc. They are called essential because they are the concentrated constituents that we associate with the herb or plant in question. If you can smell something, the molecules are being inhaled, chemically there is no difference between smelling an herb or flower, and vaporizing it's essential oil.
Getting caught up in the oil histeria I've also heard people express fear that "oil" flavorings won't vaporize properly, but they were in fact produced by being relatively volatile and easily vaporized so I don't put much stock in that concern either.
I know that's not a juice recommendation, just thought I'd help put some fears to rest. Of course we all have to decide for ourselves what we want to ingest and in what manner.
N00b, thanks for that on the cassia, I had no idea! Clearly I'm the kinda guy who likes details, and HATE when details are misrepresented to me!
OK so, if I get a cinnamon stick, is that the real kind?

Seems to be a little contradictory -- don't they mean real cinn from ceylon? But thanks for that, I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I need some.
