I built a VV mod with the TI8100 (forgot part #). The voltage regulation works great, easy to adjust. Ok here's my prob. No matter what I do my atty gets very hot. I started at 5v (to batty connector) way to high so, I dropped to 4.5, 4.3, 4.2, 4.0, 3.7 and vapor drops with voltage drop but still hot atty and vapor. I also tested voltage under load, barely drops. I got it set to 3.8v (under load) around 280ma. I have killed 1 atty already and I kept it wet, I drip and have been for a long time, I take around 6-7 sec hit and always feel atty before next hit. Btw the atty I killed was days old.

Also I am using trustfire 14500, they work great on all of my other stuff. Its also a 510 setup and the atty is 2.5ohm from madvapes (second 1) I have great airflow, I filed the notches on the batty connector, and small hole in the mouth piece, ( I also tried others ) Thanks in advance!

How hot is it getting. Atomizers get hot there is not much you can do about it. The coil inside has to heat up to produce vapor. Really without a temp reading it is hard to say if your running normal temps. My atomizer gets to around 105f sitting here puffing away in a room thats 77f. I feels like it is hotter then that though. Heat is not necessarily bad for atomizers might not be the reason yours fried. I would be more concerned to why your only getting 280ma @ 3.8 volts. You should be getting 1.5 amps with a 2.5 ohm atomizer.

I checked all my devices and none get over an amp other than a 5v box I built with rectifier diodes (pre load well over 6v). I dont get near an amp on my unregulated 3.7v box mod and that thing vapes like a champ, I did have the amperage question in my head but power dont seem to be an issue here.

When I say heat I mean hotter than the average atty heat, and hot vapor.
