I only have one shot at this and I don't want to mess it up.

constant state of confusion
I am a 1 1/2 PAD smoker for 25 years. I am tired of working just to buy analogs. Long story short, to help out my daughter, I provide her daycare for her 2.5 kids (6 yo, 3 yo, and one due next month, hence the .5). She pays me what she can afford and I am okay with that for now. You do what you gotta do to help family. Basically I make $120 every two weeks. Of that, I give $40 a weel to my mom, who I live with, and the rest goes to buy analogs. I don't have any other bills.
I also have asthma so I really need to quit any way. And I can't forsee spending winter in Kansas going outside to smoke and leave a 3 year old and a newborn in the house alone. I have spent 2 weeks, almost 8 hours a day off and on, researching from this site. I think I have decided I want the Riva. I was hoping to make the purchase out of today's pay but my mom needed help so I bought a carton of generic analogs and gave the rest of my money to my mom. Start up costs being what they are for the kit, liquid, etc., I can't afford to make a mistake. I get one shot at doing this right at this point in time. The crazy part is, while I am trying to save for the e cig, I am spending money on analogs when the analog money could be going to buy the e cig. Catch 22 I guess.
Is the Riva a good reliable one to start with?
Thanks in advance
Cat

Yes, a Riva or Ego is an excellent choice for a starter - the batteries last a long time, and the "feel" of the vapor is excellent (aka TH).

Just to give you some hope - I quit the day my ego arrived. Totally. I'd rec'd a free sample of some cappuccino flavored liquid, and that was all she wrote. I was done with smoking. In the last three months (almost) I've had two drags of an analog - that was the day it arrived - and haven't wanted one since.

One other thing to consider - if you get an eGo usb passthrough battery, you only need one, instead of a full kit. (You can charge it with a wall usb charger, or on your computer while you use it, then just take it off when you're not around a plug.) If it were me, starting from scratch, I'd do that and use the rest of the $$ you'll save on some funky/fun sounding juices.

Good luck!!

ETA: Of course, you'd need attys for a 501, plus a cone/cover to complete your ego setup. Should've been more clear!

I found this site yesterday:

Amajnecig E-cigs

He has eGo (not joye) box kits on sale for $35 but is out of stock right now. He's getting more in next week but I don't know how long that price will be available. He sells the pouch kits for $46, which looks like a nice deal. I'm ordering one for myself because the little pouches look handy. The owner seems nice and got back to me quickly when I emailed him yesterday.

While I was going through my stock Banjo beat me to the punch, I'll add to it though. I'vee got aprox 6ml of Mellow Sunset, 6ml of Mentol Artic and 1.5ml of Fuzzy Navel and a few prefilled menthol carts still in the plastic package, prefilled is yucky but they'll work in a pinch and you can always rinse out the liquid and reuse the cart and filler. PM if you're interested.

Found a 510 Delrin Drip Tip I'll include

Shoot me a pm, also. I can send 2 510 atomizer's and some juice. If you take the ego, be sure to purchase a charger for an EGO.
We have an Ego battery, a few juices and a couple atomizers. What else can we get together?
Let us know what you are accepting so we know what else you need.

constant state of confusion
I am in tears right now. I can't believe that perfect strangers would be willing to help somebody like me out. Hopefully someday I can PIF. I get a lot of comments from people, including my other adult kids (3 boys) and my boyfriend, about not having a "real" job. I have a nursing degree and a degree in medical transcription. I could make a lot more money doing something else, but my daughter needs me right now and I won't let her down for my own needs and wants.
I want to be healthy again. I am 43 years old and as of next month, I will have 7 grandkids. I want to watch them grow up. I am so sick of being a smoker that I cried on the way home from buying my carton this morning. I don't want to be a smoker. I want to be a vaper.
I am taking Banjo up on his ego offer (Thank you again.) I don't know how to pm anyone else.
I am just thrilled and overwhelmed right now.
