i only use my provari as an ohm meter, should i sell it and get a dedicated one?

i can't phrase the title in a way that doesn't sound stupid.

basically i'm now exclusively using kicked mechs, i only use my provari as an ohm meter.

i was planning on getting a smok omnitester anyway (the other ohm meters sound flaky - please recommend an alternative if there is one!) so i'm trying to decide if i should sell the provari if i'm only using it for its ohm meter capabilities anyway.

the only thing really stopping me is that the provari feels safer than an ohm meter for checking, in that it won't fire if theres a short or any other issues. (i don't particularly care that it won't measure below 1ohm, i don't subohm)

i know this is a totally subjective thing but i'd love to hear some thoughts - what would YOU do?

I have a cheapo ohm reader that I use. It reads 0.1Ω less than my ProVari does. However, even using something like a multimeter, you need to account for the difference between readers.

Sell it. You'll probably experience a certain seller's remorse, but that's part of life and the Provari will become part of someone's life when it gets out of the tool box.

It's an accurate ohmmeter for 510 and Ego devices from 0 to 9.99 ohms, and can be used as stable deck for for rebuilding RBAs. It doesn't read PWM volts, but does read anything else up to 5.09 volts (not 9.9 as it states in the specs). An attached battery can NOT power an attached atomiser and comments to the effect that it can read voltage drop are completely incorrect.

An ohm meter doesn't fire the atty when it reads it, so there is no safety issue there.

Unless I thought I might want to use it again in the future, in your situation I would sell the Provari. They hold their value well so you'll get a good price for it. I think there is also a newer version coming out soon which could possibly reduce the value of yours.

What kind of question is that?!? Of course you should sell it... Its going to be obsolete anyway and you are not even using it for what was meant to.

Get smok omni tester and you have a base to build coils on you atomizers, you can check ohms and also voltage drop and voltage output of the battery if i am not mistaken.

I'm having the same doubt, have a provari mini but since I got the zmax and the hana I'm not using it anymore, but I also want to keep it (dont know why)...

That's a pretty expensive ohm meter. I'd sell it if I weren't using it.

I am not holding my breath as Provape has been kicking a V3 around for months and months and months.... I never use my Provari, but Iwill keep it as it was something special in its day..... These days I have been using my ZNA's....

Got it Bad . I was just pointing out that ohm meters don't do that so if there is a short when checking with one it isn't dangerous.

I hear ya Riverboat. I do think that next version will be out in a year for sure. What that will do to the current version's resale value is anyone's guess though which is why I bolded the 'possibly' in my post.

It wouldn't surprise me if you hang onto a current Provari long enough it will become a collectors item when Provape stops making them. That could take a while though
