Yay! My first mod is done. Special thanks to Scubadatdan for troubleshooting suggestions.

I wanted a mod sturdy enough to carry in my jeans pocket while playing with kids. Something that won't dump a tankful of juice in my groin when I'm head-butted in the aforementioned groin. Something that can stand on my desk without falling and rolling when someone bumps it. Something that I can take with me for a few days and carry enough battery and juice in it.

Hence -- Weekend At In-Laws (WAIL) mod. Flashlight switch is on-off, and unscrews to replace an 18650 battery. Diameter of the cap is too large for my syringe tanks, but will fit a vivi nova or smoktech RBA tank, though the latter will stick out a bit from the top.

Already planning V2 that will likely be a similar design (but hopefully cleaner build) DNA powered bottom feeder for a Phoenix. I think I do intend to stick to the two parallel tubes though. It will also have some sort of panel that can be unscrewed for troubleshooting. This one is glued together, so god help me if I have to fix anything in it.

I like it! Very creative the way you enclosed the tank in the flashlight, great job! Idk how tight the 18650 is in there, but if there's enough play to drill holes that line up in both tubes and put long screws with the pan head in the battery tube and tighten them in the other tube. That's the only way I can think of instead of glue.

18xxx batteries leave about 1.5mm of space all around them. I ended up slicing a large syringe lengthwise and stuffing it in the tube to keep the battery from flopping around. The flashlights are actually bolted together, that's what the big rectangular plastic in the middle is hiding. I agree, just glue would not hold them together very well.

A mod that survives kids is very motivating for me too. I like it better when my WAIL is limited to 24h, as I've had enough by then, much like today. :D

Is there anything inside the separation of the two tubes? I see that the lens part with the tank needs this separation but is it just wiring in there? I could recommend epoxy putty for joining them too, it is nice and sticky, mold-able, cures rock hard and you can pick it off later if need be. Dual tubes are real winners for compact mods, and not done that often either.

Nice job :)
