I just finished my last pack of regular tobacco cigarettes. That pack lasted about four and a half days, so I guess I can live without it now.

I’ve been smoking a pack a day or more for over 35 years. Most of that time, I didn’t even try to quit. I’ve always sort-of known why I smoke, and no stupid patch or gum is going to cover it. I considered it self-medicating, and a quality of life issue.

I got my first SmokeStik in early June. It didn’t work too well. I finally got my Joy 510 manual at the end of August. Now it’s working. I now have four full assemblies (battery + atty) so I can switch off between them. I can even go out.

My new theme song is Roger Miller’s “I’ve been a long time leavin”
(I couldn’t find his version, so I had to settle for Waylon Jennings.)
