I started e-cigs about four months ago, and it's now three months since my last cigarette. This marks the longest time I've gone without a cigarette in the last 32 years.

In a way, the one common denominator between the two three months quit has been an obsession. But there's a difference:

First time: OMG I can't have another cigarette, ever, never, ever and I really, really want one and every time I see someone smoking I want to grab their smoke and smoke it myself and I struggle not to do that because I know if I did I'd start the whole quit process over again and I can't even contemplate that.

This time: What flavors should I try next? What mod? What's Ohm's Law really mean? Do I like bottom feeders or am I am I happier with a high-end tube mod where I can drip?

In other words, the last time was entirely negative... I'd given up something I really wanted to do. This time is positive... e-cigs are great... is there a way to make them even better?

I'm hoping this time has been just about as healthy as the last time.... but I know last time was misery and this time has been... fun.

So... what other method of quitting tobacco has ever been described as "fun"?

Congratulations!!!!

I totally felt the same way the last times I had "quit." They were all "forced" - I was in the hospital for 3 days each time and couldn't smoke. I HATED everyone and everything that stood in the way of me and my freedom. My baby is about the only thing I didn't hate, but I was still pretty miserable for that 3 days of "incarceration."

This time, I'm proud, I'm enjoying it, and I love spreading the word about e-cigs. :) Who wants menthol cigs when they can have vanilla custard!
