Day 4 has started and I'm really happy to say I quit smoking. Thanks to e-cigs and this fourm I can enjoy life without anologs, I do notice my dreams are more vivid. To bad the dreams are of smoking tobacco! haha never again, Glad this nightmare of anologs is over!
Thanks again everyone,

Gave up the analogues on Friday and haven't looked back.
E-cigs are so much better, so many flavours to choose from is the only problem.
I am getting my sense of smell and taste back which is good apart from the fact that I can smell all those bad things as well now.

Congratulations to all that have kicked analogues.

This is the nicest part of all, no craving, no eating, I have lost weight (cause I am moving more instead of sitting on my rump smoking cause I couldn't breathe)
Detoxing is the nasty...lol, and you wonder "Have I really been putting the crap inside of my body all this time!!!" Oh, your hair will get softer, too!

My senses have recovered enough that I can smell a smokers car as it passes by me on the street. I can literally smell the cig stench wafting after them. BLEGH! He will figure it out, just give him time.

Keep it up!

I'm not eating to cover my craving, I don't have a craving, I can't STAND the smell of my car and will tend to that this afternoon.....

I am starting to get my smell and taste back little by little...can't WAIT until the detox time is done....I do notice subtle changes, my eyesight, my BREATHING, my attitude(I feel soo much more calm now...believe it or not, use to by a little on the hyper side, now, just kinda 'whateva' now..LOL)

I've heard the first 3 days are the worst. It's all a personal battle with yourself. With someone like myself, (with a horrible oral addiction on top of the nicotine) when I see someone smoking, or I walk through smoke, or passed a smoke pit, I immediately crave (and more than often have broken down and asked someone for one) a cigarette. I know how hard it is to quit. I have a baby on the way ( my wife is 39 weeks pregnant today) and all I want to do is quit for her sake. The guys in my shop all have generic brand e-cigs but I am a 2 pack a day smoker and need something that will get me through the rest of the year (at least). So good luck, and keep going strong...you give people like me hope!

Ok after reading these threads, I have now been 2 days without a cigarette. Today will be day 3 and yes I'm enjoying my coffee and my e-cig as I type. Although the blu e-cig, lets me down with its weak hits I have made it to day 3. Booyahhh.
Looking forward to getting my banner on how many days quit and money saved.
Patrick

The Blu kit was a bit of a disappointment for me as well. It did get me by until I could get my eGo in however. For me the trick was to refill the little cup in the tips with some good (smooth cuban) juice whenever the vapor started to taper off. I got to the point that the two batteries would get me through a 12 hour day only recharging one of them once.

Today is my first day on the job with the eGo, I feel fairly confident that it will get me through with no issues. I will try to post an update tonight about how it goes.

USMC - You didn't say which PV you use, but look into an Ego. There are alot of people on here who swear by them and will tell you it got them over the hump of wanting a cigarette. 510's are highly recommended as well, but think if you're on the go/at work and don't want to fuss with batteries all the time, then an ego is the one for you. I personally have a 510 and am wanting to upgrade as soon as possible!
I too, am still craving cigarettes, even though I cannot stand the smell of them (weird I know). I have cut back from 2+ PAD to 2-3 cigarettes a day now, but can't seem to kick those last few. Discouraging yes, but I KNOW I can do it, eventually. Everyone is different and I've finally stopped kicking my own behind for having a cig here and there. No sense in beating myself up or getting down about it, because that will only make me want a cig more! Don't let ANYONE make you feel bad for smoking a cig if you need one. Your quit day will come, just as mine will. I truly believe it's about finding the right PV first, then the perfect juice or juices for your taste. Our sweet spot is out there, and with each day I get closer to finding my perfect mix, and you will too! Keep your head up USMC!! We are all in this together!! :)
And a BIG CONGRATS on the new little angel on the way!! :)

yeah i dont know why some ppl cant quit ive been smoking for 15 yrs and im still getting nicotine...and hell this 510 and liquid hits me harder then any analog i have to pace myself or i just sit here lightheaded all day like im stoned outta my mind lol

I am sure you didn't mean to sound so nonchalant about such a difficult thing, but please remember, there are still a few people on this forum who are having trouble quitting cigarettes, but who have also cut back tremendously in the amount they smoke now, thanks to ecigs. I think that is a GREAT accomplishment in itself and should be commended. Those of us who do still crave a cigarette have our own personal struggle with why we can't kick those last few each day. Reading this sentence upset me at first, but then I realized some are just so thrilled with how easy it was for them, they forget that not everyone is the same.
As I said, I'm sure you didn't intend for it to come off the way it did, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you weren't aware of how it does sound to those of us who do still crave and do still have a cig here and there.

Congratulations on finding the wonderfulness that is vapor! :vapor:

I completely agree with those in this thread who are emphasizing not to beat yourself up over still needing a few analogs a day to get by. You've already travelled leaps and bounds to get to that point, and in a short span of time! It's definitely different for each individual - Myself and four of my friends started vaping at approximately the same time and we are all in slightly different scenarios. I personally have not had an analog in over seven days (I went from a Blue to an eGo and it's night and day for me, I don't think the Blu would have worked for me long term, but it was a nice introduction) my friend found a 510 and he's now a chain vapor (no analogs, either), one of us has cut analog consumption by a little over half, and the last two are still struggling to make the switch. Who is to say what exactly any one of us is addicted to asides from the nicotine in a cigarette!

Devoe2485 you scared me, I thought you meant you quit!!!!!!!!!!! No, you really meant you QUIT!!!!! Congratulations, yes by all means find a good reliable cheap way to go forward, find your proper nic level, and go for it!
I was a 44 year 2-3 PAD smoker, and quit the day I got my e-cig...that was over 18 months ago. Not one cigarette, meantime, not a single one. I had to fight extreme hunger and high energy for a couple months (withdrawal) putting a lock on the fridge and getting back to work took care of that.
Welcome, God bless, and good luck!

So, I went all day with my eGo... wonderful product. I received the kit last night, the batteries were already charged, and I made it through today (12+hrs) without ever needing to charge or switch to the other battery.

If you are struggling with the switch, I can definitely recommend this kit to you. The eGo is great. I haven't had a chew in a week and a day, four more days than I could ever go before.

Also, I ordered some juice from johnson creek, and I must say that I am pretty disappointed with their products overall (which is what comes in the blu carts.). My eGo kit came with some samples from freedomsmokeusa and I really like all three that they included. Wyatt Earp (strong, but good flavor) RY4 (another strong one) and Caramel Cream (more mellow and sweeter). I'm thinking about ordering some of their fruit flavors. The tropical that they have has piqued my curiosity.

Anyhow, I too am new to vaping, but can attest to the power it carries to help you quit tobacco in any form. If you want to talk about it, feel free to email me, or just ask here. Best of luck, and welcome!

Congrats! I have a couple of friends struggling with completely stopping. It's not a big deal so don't frustrate yourself worrying about it. When your ready you'll know and it'll click. Be proud of the fact that your taking the initiative to even try and quit. After 25 years I quit, but for some strange reason I still am ok with the smell when it's freshly lit. Now afterward I need to run away but for some some unknown reason I like the initial start. I still go out with some of my friends who haven't quit just to get the psychological feel of smoking still and it's been 20 days. I have tapered it off but maybe a mind trick is just what you need to get you to that point. Good luck and we are here for ya!
