So I was sharking around the 510 model specific forum....and I know the 510 is SOOOO popular...I was pretty set on ordering one ....BUT NOW after reading all that...SOMEONE TELL ME...IS IT EVEN WORTH IT???

Attys going out in days/weeks.....cleaning....batteries frying....????...leaking ....

Many people have suggested the Ego/tornado....and while I think its big looking...I am starting to consider....

So what does every one ---anyone think??

the atty is the same for the ego.. the ego has a better battery though.. if you are around a computer or power outlet car most of the time then go for the 510 and a passthrough..

i used to have problems with battery life on my 510 till i got a passthrough and was able to let the batteries get a good 8 hour charge between use now i will only use 2 batteries a day instead of 4 and then useing them again before they fully charge..

What Lab said :)

I use a PT (actually i have 2 of htem , one at 3.7 v - the inline battery type - and one at 5v) and so battery issues only bother me if they both die or I have to go out for a while. Basic 510 batts are poo - even us fans cant deny that lol - but a PCC gets round a lot of issues - or something like the Ego, silverbullet, bartleby or CHUCK battery mod.

good first starter is the 510 though.. there is a lot more information on it.. it is low cost 35$ at many places.. if you smoke a pack a day it is payed for in a week of not smoking then the money you save from there upgrade if it is not enough

there will be a lot more small problems listed with it since so many ppl get it..

you will see a few posts of problems with mods.. but not as many ppl have them so cant expect many problem posts..

a 15$ passthrough fixes all problems with the 510.. unless you are looking for a real hard hitting e-cig then you would have to go for a higher voltage mod..

Get a few attys - some last for EVER some die really fast - just be sure to treat it as well as you can. Blow it out if it gets flooded, clean the THREADS with a tissue (both battery and atty), dont let it get too dry ( adry atty is one that will die really fast).
Come here and ASK before you do anything with it (like pulling out the 'fluffy fibers' inside the bridge - dont do that lol) and remember they are cheap so replacing htem is pretty easy :)

has the usage time of your batteries gone up since you mainly use the passthough.. I thought they where crap at first but now that I let them charge for 8 hours at a time they seem to last a reasonable time now.. not to say they are as good as other batteries but better than they were when they where the main power source

attys go out more on highvoltage use.. i have used a 510 for around 5 months now and have only had 1 atty go out on me.. and it was my fault I soaked it in alcohol overnight and it ate away at the glue that holds it together..

but get a few attys.. till you get down the cleaning of them since they will loose the amount of vapor produced over time.. also get a few 5-10 ml bottles of different flavored liquids.. some dont taste that great

Id say yes - I dont notice any drop off in them. They stay in hte charger for DAYS sometimes lol. I know they dont drip-charge once they are fully charged its just a convenient place to leave them.
If I do use one though I burn through it really fast as I vape like a demon :) If i had to rely soley on manual batts Im pretty sure Id have bought a mod by now.

The 510 attys are pretty cheap to replace, and it's the battery that's a downer. The good news is that the eGo/tornado batteries use the 510 atty anyway! so why not just start with the 510 and once you save enough money using your 510 you can use your savings to upgrade the battery.

I've been using my 510 (same atty) for a month now and it's still going strong. I still have three more that i haven't used yet (tested them, they work too) I honestly think people mess with them too much and end up ruining them. My advice is just to blow them out once a day, wipe down the threads, and DON'T try to soak them or anything major like that until they get so bad they're basically a lost cause anyway.

good luck!

OK..so all this talk of 3.7 v and 5v...ummm heh? What is up with that? Why for?...

I was looking at USB passthrus and one site had 2 kinds...one was a 5v the other was a 3.7v BOTH for the 510....

Is one better than the other??

that's way over my head -- hehe.. too new to answer. good luck!

Hi Jessie, so about wether it's worth it or not because people complain about atomizers going out too quickly, an atomizer is kind of similar to a light bulb. I has a tiny wire filiment wrapped around some fibers that heats up when electricity passes through it. These things don't last for ever. A light bulb wouldn't either if you were turning it on and off all the time. They cost between $5.00 and $10.00 and typically last a month on average. How much does a pack of cancer sticks cost or last? Yeah, it's worth it. The 510 is one of the most reliable models but these are tiny Chinese electronic thingies and there's bound to be some inconsistancies. Passthroughs are great if you sit near a computer a lot or are cool with running over to the computer desk when you want a hit and 5 volts does give you a nice warm cloud of vapor. I hope this is info you can use. No matter how you do it vaping instead of smoking is worth it. That cute little fella in your avatar needs you around for a loooong time. Cheers.

For what it's worth, I would just go to Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and order two of the no box 510 kits. That would cost you $70 delivered and delivered fast. This way you get 4 atties 4 batteries 10 carts and two chargers. If you are really worried about batteries get the PCC or a passthrough. If you are home a lot the PT is the deal so I have heard. I have the PCC and it's nice but with four batteries I really haven't used it that much. With four full 510's and two chargers I have been totally set. it's also nice to have the four atties so I can keep a seperate one for each flavor. (I mark them with white paint so I can tell which one has what liquid in it) Remember you can always buy the eGo or Tornado (same thing) batteries later after you have saved some money and found out if the 510 is right for you. The five pack of eGo batteries is around $80. Get some liquid from either cignot or your other vender of choice. I would suggest starting with a bunch of samples or small bottles of a bunch of different stuff because I don't know anyone who was happy with all of their first liquid purchases.

Who here doesn't have a few 30ml bolttles collecting dust? (I know I should pay it forward but my taste keeps changing).

I really would suggest Cignot they are great and all of my friends who have taken the plunge agree. Two 510 kits for $70 delivered will be more than enough equipment to last for a good long while. Worry about the mods and bigger batteries and all that other stuff later.

Just my two cents but I hope it helped.

Oh and I am not connected with cignot in any other way than as a very happy customer, just like many others. They have great prices, products and their customer service is second to none.
