I was about to send back my non-working SD today to Trog who has been very helpful. He is going to send me another one. However, right when I was going to send it back, my dealextreme batteries and charger arrived, so I decided to try it once more before I returned it.

I have charged the batteries and went to open my SD again. I decided to try out the silver atomizer with my 901 battery that I just tested this morning and worked perfectly fine. I screwed the atomizer onto the battery and inhaled. OMG-- the atomizer got SO hot that I burned my finger. And, the battery's light went green and there was a teeny bit of vapor (I think it was vapor; I hope it wasn't smoke) that came out between the led light and the black part of the battery. Now this battery was perfectly fine two hours ago when I separated my three bad batteries (FROM SMOKE LIBERATION WHO WON'T EXCHANGE THEM EVEN THOUGH THEY ARRIVED THIS WAY) from my good batteries and labeled them all. So, this was a good battery. Well, silly me decided to try that atomizer on my second good 901 battery and immediately the green light went on and it got very hot. I immediately unscrewed it.

I want to stress that I never cleaned this atomizer because it's brand new and the atomizers I cleaned last night are working fine. So, it's not from cleaning them or anything like that.

So, what's going on? I tested this atomizer on my own batteries before putting it back on the SD to see if the new batteries had something to do with this with my SD issues.

Now I don't know if I should test these batteries with another atomizer, if that was a fluke, or what? What could it be?

Thanks!

One battery started smoking and now the LED light doesn't work although the battery still works. And, the atomizer got so hot I have a blister on my index finger. The other battery started flashing green. I just tested both these batteries on one of my own atomizers that I didn't get from Trog and they are both working and not flashing green. The light, though, on one of them is now not working.

Is that more clear?

did you use the ecig , like did you take a draw or did they activate without user input ?

if you where using/sucking as normal , then tht would activate the vacum switch and seems the atomizer is faulty if its getting real hot real quick, it's taking more power than it should which is why the LED probably blew because the battery couldn't sustain the amperage draw.

If they activated without user input , then the batteries are faulty because the vacum switch is stuck .

No, I activated it by inhaling. The batteries were fine. This is an atomizer issue and a strange one. The atomizer blistered my finger. How does this happen?

this is a long story and to be honest none of what kendra says make a great deal of sense.. we have been thru a full arsenal of all imaginable faults..

sometimes working sometime not.. faulty batteries faulty charger.. works with some atomizers not with others.. not being sure which atomizers we shipped and which is from her own stash.. ending up with super hot atomizers.. but a working SD...

are you haunted Kendra... you know poltergeists and that kind of thing.. he he he

Thanks, Trog. Actually, it makes perfect sense to me. Initially, it worked with the battery that was in there. It was only when it drained a few hours later and I took another one out of the charger and that only lasted a couple of hours. . . and each one lasted less and less til there was no power at all. I bet you they all had differing amounts of partial charge in them.

And, when those ran out, I got NOTHING not even the whimper.

So, to me, this really was the only thing that made sense since I know the SD arrived in working order.

The only thing I'm wondering about are the silver atomizers. When I vaped with the SD the first day, I used a silver atomizer but I'm not sure it was this one that overheated. Now, though, I can't find both, only one. . . and I don't really know if you sent one or two 901s. If it's the same atomizer, then I don't understand what happened to it. But, if I just used a new atomizer today, then the original one was probably fine.

Anyways, I'm glad it's working and thanks for your help. All my 901s are black. Yours are silver. I only got confused with the 801s, not the 901s.

I elect Kendra as the poster child for 'things that can go wrong'. Kendra, I am joking, but you certainly seem to have anything that can go wrong, go wrong. Hope it all works out for you. I understand the SD is a sweet monster.
You know, I know it sounds like this, but usually my life runs very smoothly. I am well aware how these latest posts sound. I was worried you'd all think I had Munchhausen by vapor device syndrome or something.

But, all is well now. And, I didn't get sick using phosphoric acid on my atomizers, either. . . so that's positive, too!

It doesn't sound like the same minor problem I had with my SD but the atomizers trog sent with the unit won't work unless I use pliers to screw them super tight so they make good contact. All my other 901 atomizers work fine with the SD by just screwing them on normally. Other than that, I have had no problems and just love my SD. And as I have stated on here before, trog is super fast in responding to questions.
